I am actually from brazil and oh my ducking god the desinformation about furries here is just mind blowing. One day i was at school finishing to draw my protogen and a classmate just looked on my phone and asked what i was drawing, so i just zoomed out and he just screamed AH HELL NAW HES A FURRY and then some other friends looked over and they asked what is a furry and he just said (what i remember was something like this ) "furries are people that kill animals to use their carcass to wear them in public" i was just like wtf, because i tought that he was playing with me, i asked "really" and he said "yeah" i was just soo confused because i did not belive that he was serious, to this day im still scared to say to any friend that im a furry, only to the ones that i fully belive in Answering your questions:

As a sufferer of anxiety, especially in social places, the fursuit head really helps with just tuning out a whole lot of the white noise and excess stimuli that comes with going to a convention.
As someone who's loved watching Kutris Connor and as a furry I completely forgot he made this video until now, and I'm surprised how accurate he described the fandom and all the research he actually did on this topic.
bc i have childhood trauma, i struggle to interact w kids and feel extremely uncomfortable being around children. however, being in costumes is a huge buffer that allows me to be able to interact w kids in healthy ways without having extreme discomfort. being neurodivergent and having issues with socialization is also alleviated when i am in costumes, even if i am just wearing a head. it's really great, bc i enjoy conventions, but have struggled in the past interacting w others when i am in a regular costume, rather than one that puts space bw me and others.

I was a bit hesitant to watch his video on furries at first because I was worried it would completely change my view on him for the worse but if anything I like him even more now!
Honestly, I'm kinda shocked. I saw his video floating around my recommendations a few times, and I hesitated to watch his video. I always get nervous whenever I see a non fur make a video on furries cause you never know what they got to say. Since he also seems to be a well known guy on RUclips, a lot of people will float to him automatically. I didn't know who Kurtis was prior to seeing this reaction video so I thought his video could either be really good or really bad. The kind of people who'd make a half an hour video of blatantly dragging furries through the mud. Like one of those "THIS is BAD, and here's WHY" type videos. The title and thumbnail to the video didn't give me any confidence either. Happy to say watching Beta react to it had me nodding my head pleasantly surprised by the end. Its good to see more non furs do some research for once before hopping on camera and talking to millions of people. There were so many times during this video were Kurtis would make a point about something that I've always talked about in comment sections and I'd yell at the tv like "THANK YOU!" Especially when he brought up the point of people making cringe compilations that are mostly just people having a genuine wholesome time. Its great to see furries go into depth about the furry fandom to inform others, but its even better when supportive people outside the fandom comes through to genuinely talk about furries and I think Kurtis handled it really well here. Some points he made even I wasn't even aware of. Good on him. I respect that he also touched on some points where he made the distinction of what cringe even is. Like comparing the touchy fox guy at dollar tree, to a furry showing off their fursuit to their supportive parents. Today, people seem to use it as a buzzword to express things they don't like (At least from what I've seen anyway). Unironically throwing the word out like its Halloween candy to the point that it loses all meaning. Pineapple on pizza? CRINGE! Playing games on console? CRINGE! Ok so I relate to this guy another, like my adhd allows me to just go on and on about any topic known to mankind but the second I trail off to add some context or something different the conversation just drastically falls down a 400ft hill of which I'm unable to climb back up then my brain just stops and it's like ahhhh wait what was I going on about originally.
I remember farts actually being flammable. I've heard of people lighting their farts on fire and accidentally burning their own butt. (i'm not the greatest source tho, dont quote me)
I knew a guy who was in the British army medical corps in the 1980s. He told me that they often used to have to treat guys from the local REME unit for rectal burns because they had an initiation ceremony involving jumping over a campfire naked while farting in an attempt to set their farts on fire.
We call things 'cringe' because we don't understand the appeal/why they're popular (we as in the people who are chronically online and solely exist just to hate on furries) I used to be a hater, but after opening my third eye (I smoked a joint with a furry, and that was the moment my whole attitude changed.) They're actually pretty chill. We are afraid of what we do not know.
I greatly enjoy seeing mainstream creators who speak positively about ‘cringe’ fancultures. I’m not a furry but I am a great supporter for them cuz it takes a lot of effort, money, creativity, and dedication. I just would not be able to handle the sensory overload in the suits lol. I will however….. possibly dabble in fursonas one day 😳✨
I am a furry and I love his content, I was so happy when I got introduced to him through this video. He is an incredible funny, informative, and genuine youtuber, and i would say they are a diamond in the rough when it comes to youtubers.
14:40 we can go even further down the timeline: Roman legions had a designated guy dressed up as a wolf, since the she-wolf was the symbold of Rome...and Germanic tribes too had warriors donning animal skins to look like them, be it for religious or belligerious endeavours.
Beta, i personally recommend you to watch the Fredrik knudsen video. It's a very well done documentary on the history of furry fandom and culture. A must see video.

I know and love furries and when I saw this video when he uploaded it, my knife Kirby meme was at the ready no matter how much I love Kurtis. and then I watched it and my protective side chilled out because I've seen way too fucking many videos not explaining correctly and making just fun of furries whole sale. his video was so awesome.

I had the same reaction to the "1000 Ways to Die" episode. Why have I not seen this? That furry orgy may be the funniest "representations" of furries I've seen, but for a second there it really went into "I wish that was me" territory.
When I heard that many furries are mascots for their school, I remembered the time I accidentally became a volunteer (loosely used term) mascot for an arcade. I had a fursuit that looked like a bunch of stardust spilled onto an animal, so it fit the vibe and people just went with it

It’s time that we answer the age old question.
"Are furries weird?"
"Let's talk about that."
*GMM theme plays*
I didn’t know that I needed to watch someone discover Kurtis, he’s so funny and it was even funnier with your input and laughter as well
0:55 can confirm milwaukee does not exist. I'm from there and can confirm that you need to wake up, you have been in a coma for 2 years we miss you.
23:52 I kid you not, I had literally just made a cup of squash, took the first sip, just to spit it out again bc that was too funny
Yes, yes we are 😂 but sometimes we can be wholesome and cute as well! :D
I've never heard and or seen such Bullshit
I remember farts actually being flammable. I've heard of people lighting their farts on fire and accidentally burning their own butt. (i'm not the greatest source tho, dont quote me)
Old RUclips videos lmao
Basically saw that happen in the South Park movie lol
I knew a guy who was in the British army medical corps in the 1980s. He told me that they often used to have to treat guys from the local REME unit for rectal burns because they had an initiation ceremony involving jumping over a campfire naked while farting in an attempt to set their farts on fire.
I might actually show this to my mom since she is also confused. You’re the best Beta
It makes me so happy that Beta likes Kurtis' content
We call things 'cringe' because we don't understand the appeal/why they're popular (we as in the people who are chronically online and solely exist just to hate on furries)
I used to be a hater, but after opening my third eye (I smoked a joint with a furry, and that was the moment my whole attitude changed.)
They're actually pretty chill.
I will however….. possibly dabble in fursonas one day 😳✨
Are furries cringe?
Short answer: yes
Long answer: yes, but we don’t care and are having fun.
I am a furry and I love his content, I was so happy when I got introduced to him through this video. He is an incredible funny, informative, and genuine youtuber, and i would say they are a diamond in the rough when it comes to youtubers.
My two favorite RUclipsrs in the same video
14:40 we can go even further down the timeline: Roman legions had a designated guy dressed up as a wolf, since the she-wolf was the symbold of Rome...and Germanic tribes too had warriors donning animal skins to look like them, be it for religious or belligerious endeavours.
As a person that hasn't been an anti furry I have absolutely no idea why everyone hates furries
Beta, i personally recommend you to watch the Fredrik knudsen video. It's a very well done documentary on the history of furry fandom and culture. A must see video.
yeah i really liked his video on it it was a pretty good way to basically say most furries are just people with a hobby you think is weird but doesnt hurt anyone so leave them alone
I know and love furries and when I saw this video when he uploaded it, my knife Kirby meme was at the ready no matter how much I love Kurtis.
and then I watched it and my protective side chilled out because I've seen way too fucking many videos not explaining correctly and making just fun of furries whole sale. his video was so awesome.
watched two videos of yours and i find your content appealing, not a furry anymore but you are really convincing me to get back into it. keep up the grind.
❤❤❤
i mean we are sometimes not all the time it really depends tbh
also: love your content beta you never fail to amaze us n make our days n nights even in our darkest times ty
haha this was so fun to watch, thanks for making great content that actually makes me laugh !! :D
when it said “what does the fox say?” i got severe ptsd flashbacks
Cringe is like humor. It's subjective
Beta I think I followed you back in 2018 so like five years and it was because I wanted to know more about the fandom thanks for the the informative vids you have done
Finally, a definition of a furry that is actually *neutral* for once!
You would not believe the amount of biased explanations I have seen.
Define "biased".
@@The_B_Button people who say that they did research but only say stuff about one specific negative
As soon as that guy said 1000 Ways to Oof, I knew where this was headed. It's one of the handful of eps I remember. Such an odd plot.
I didn't know 80s Weird Al made RUclips videos
I had the same reaction to the "1000 Ways to Die" episode. Why have I not seen this?
That furry orgy may be the funniest "representations" of furries I've seen, but for a second there it really went into "I wish that was me" territory.
I feel like I would get a Ferrari just to make the "furrari" joke
Lol, beta reacting to the ad roll is silly as hell. They might as well sponsor you because you just showed us the whole.
Thank you beta for introducing me to a new creator :]
5:02
i kid you not, a furry dating ad came up at this time stamp, WTF!??!??!?!?!?!??!
When I heard that many furries are mascots for their school, I remembered the time I accidentally became a volunteer (loosely used term) mascot for an arcade. I had a fursuit that looked like a bunch of stardust spilled onto an animal, so it fit the vibe and people just went with it
You can't have fun anymore without being told you're cringe... :(
-Anyway back to fursuit making.
Ew wtf why would I say this I don't even remember posting this comment 💀
“milwaukee? thats a place?” took me OUT
That one episode actually was my introduction to the fandom, it was kinda weird and decided to look it up on the internet aaand I ended up being GAY
I was subbed to curtis for a while, but I had to check this video put when I saw it. It was amazing!!! I was almost about to unsub cuz I thought he would be roasting furries for no reason, but no! This video was awesome, and I'm glad to see it 2nt hand from your video!!
I wasn't expecting his description fully accurate, but I was still surprised by the accuracy.
I think Milwaukee's a tool brand and they just named the place after the tools LOL XD
i started singing the wii sports theme and you started dancing my happiness is no longer on this planet
If the vikings were furrys then ever since the dawn of humanity there was always a furry they just didn't know it.
I fucking love Kurtis, I’ve been watching him for years and I even took a flight to see his Vancouver show in November and it was hilarious! He’s just such an awesome dude
everyone is cringe no matter what :)
I'm not a furry but I have a lot of friends who are and I just subscribed because it's nice that your channel helps me find some talking points with them without going too far over my head lol 😁
I’m a furry, I’m cringe and I ENJOY IT 😂
Being normal is boring and better yet, I haven’t met a popular furry who is racist, doesn’t that say something out the community??
I’m cringe, and that’s based. I’ll never be based, and that’s not cringe. There is no one I would rather be, than me. - some random meme I saw years ago
I just recently joined the Fandom and a lot of furries gotta work on respecting boundaries.
As a member of Kurtis Town for several years, I enjoyed the video. Kurtis is such a chill dude. My favorite part of the video was when he said how much he wanted to be Kovu
been a fan of kurtis for like a little over a year now and hes honestly the most chill and understanding guy ive seen
Finally I can introduce my mom the proper way to furry’s and how to explain them, thanks Beta!!!!
I like kurtis’s definition of furry is pretty good, from a furry, from a not furry. It’s very good and well explained.
You gotta see his movie reviews
He does them for some super cheesy, knock-off films
I really like him so I was scared to watch the video because I didn't want to see him talk shit about us but then he was really supportive and it made me like him more
Nah man we’re 100% cringe and owning it
Amazing video, this was very well executed!
Oh who cares, do what makes you happy
I watched him for a long time, and right when I started to get curious about furries again he posted that n I was like “this is a sign”
I'm a furry, and I can admit, we're cringe!
😊👍
these are the type of videos that are worth having on youtube
