"You can give a man a fish and feed him for the day, or you can teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime". This is the time of year I buy my fishing license. Not necessarily for the bull run but for the flounder. I absolutely love flounder and think it's the best fish you'll get off the shore besides the black tip shark. Both really good eating. 👍

I wonder it's going to handle heavy load, will it last long? You know heavier is durable most of the time, but this reel is very light. And also i watched a video that this reel was so noisy, as if it's already broken. Have you had any issues so far? Thank you.

@lloydtyler4456 both on equal rods, probably the 8k. The 8k also has the superior lime clicker, but....

Like I said in the video, I've had the 8k for a year, absolutely no problem. I've ripped several reels throughout the past and have promoted them if I like them. I used a lot of avets, funny thing is that people started complaining because they were 'high end reels' and they were unattainable for a lot of anglers. Which is why I now started using these udget surf reels. I like them, if I didn't, I wouldn't use them. I am extremely picky with gear.

Avet. Used them in the USA not everything they are cracked up to be. And in recent years the build V corrosion has gone down hill big time

I wanted to like the Surf 8K, I just don't. The handle feels so flimsy, it's a deal breaker. Plus, not being a screw in handle makes it that much worse. Then the whole reel has way too much flex. Even just reeling in a weight and bait it flexes a bunch. Then it basically isn't sealed all all. Even under the drag knob there isn't even a basic gasket. I get that it's a $100 reel, but even that price feels like a ripoff. My Shimano Baitrunner 8000D's feel 10X the quality and are $100 more. Granted, they don't have the like capacity the Surf 8K does.

You are expecting too much for a reel that's only $100. Idk about you man, but I have fished the 8k hard af for 2 years with no problems. I haven't eve serviced the reel or anything lol. I think your comparison to a $200 is unfair. A better comparison would be a shimano speed master surf, that reel is super flimsy, non existent drag clicker, that's $160, tons of spool wobble.
If you don't like it, cool. I fish it hard af and never had a problem. I also know what to expect from different price points. I fish this reel, up to an $800 spinning reel.

I mean bro, I have done like 3 other reviews of long cast reels lol. I did a review on the penn fathom casting special, I did a review on the penn squall casting special, penn spinfisher long cast, ultegra long cast. Were you not around when I made those videos?
I ain't selling out at all. I used to make a lot of videos with my avets lol, people were saying I was being elitist fishing expensive reels lol. Now I'm showcasing good budget reels, and now people are complaining and calling me a sellout lol.
      Can't make everyone happy lol
