So confusing why the 1500AY model has 3 spools but the 12000A doesn't. Both are Okuma Flite Surf reels. Is the 1500AY deep spool the same size as the 12000A spool?
In terms of quality, strength and smoothness, how does it compare to a Shimano technium or Shimano XTC 14000 (if you have one)? I have the latter shimano reel
0,16 mm or 0,18 mm monos are often used in Portugal and Spain and I believe in France they use those diameters too, but those are meant for clean beaches. mono lines today are so high quality that you can do wonders with thin lines. Just dont bait for rays ahah. If you're fishing in clean sand beaches you should try them with tapered shockleaders but be mindful of the line quality, try lines from brands like Vega, Cinnetic, Yuki or Trabucco for example
@@Dave30867no buddy, that shallow spool is meant for light braids like 20lb or less, and it’ll hold a full 300yard spool, and most people aren’t going to cast that distance, correction; can’t cast that distance.

The Shimano Ultegra 14000 XSE is a good match with the Fireblade GT either 13 or 14 foot. Worth looking at.

I wonder what it would be like if you put such a reel on a feeder rod? The rod is 4.20 cm long, and the weight that can be cast is 150 grams.

Having a line clip it would make a decent big pit reel.
The Obsidian version of this reel is made for big pit carp and has 2 clips on the spools.
Just bought this from Amazon and it donesn't come with the shallow or red spools/bails. It only comes with the large one.
The model we have in stock here at VMO comes with the spare spools shown.

@@Dave30867 It comes with a deep spool as well, it's pointed out in the video. You can also buy deep T14 aluminium spools from MV Spools.
