Question: what is your recommended knot for main line to leader connection please?
Using this exact line and tapered leader combo

Are you casting to just deeper water on the sand as the beach goes out or trying to get over the beach sand and into the channel trench ? I’m new to surf casting. Like real new

Every beach is different and where you cast will differ depending on what features are available at your chosen beach. Where there is a channel or a gut present, it would be a good idea to target these areas. However, on beaches that do not present any structure, it would be wise to try different depths until you find where the fish are feeding. For example, cast your first bait as far as you can, if you don't get a bite, cast your next one out a bit closer. Repeat this until you find fish. This may also change as the available light changes, so when the sun goes down, fish may venture closer to the beach and casting way beyond the breakers may not be necessary. Hope this helps, tight lines!
