Fun Fact: As Meltan, Melmetal was Ash's smallest pokemon, even smaller than Pikachu and Ash's starters who didn't evolve past their first stages.

So it can learn electric attacks but ash never taught of any electric attacks when it evolves
@@felixlee9645 That is one of my favorite moments because Faba cheated by choosing Ash's Pokemon for him using Hypno's Psychic and still lost. It was even funnier to see Hypno freak out when Meltan bit through his pendulum.
When it evolved into Melmetal, it also became his biggest, I believe.
Man, this has got to be one of Ash’s most terrifying teams
He used an ancient juggernaut, a poison spewing dragon from another dimension, and a literal God of the Sun

The creators confirmed it was his Pokémon because it was all of ash’s Pokémon cheeeing for pikachu and Solgaleo and tyranitar cheered for him. Implying he owned them. It’s like saying dedenne wasn’t Bonnie Pokémon but Clemonts even though it was for Bonnie.
@@dragonofwise1035 no larvitar and solgaleo were there because he took care of them as a baby. He never caught them in pokeballs so they are not his

I love how in the the last 3 series of the ash sage. The creators chose to give Ash some of his most cracked teams. Ash greninja and goodra in xyz, melmetal dusk lycenrock and Naganadel in sun and moon, and his champion team in journeys.
Definitely better than Johto and Unova haha
To be fair if they had simply allowed more of the earlier teams to fully evolve they could’ve been cracked. Just imagine emboar, samurott, serperior and scrafty alongside krookodile. Or add a garchomp to the sinnoh team.

Ash's Melmetal is really quite a funny 'mon, I loved how it was bros with Rowlet, his goofiness and how he loved to flex after evolving. The Alola squad was great, I wished Naganadel could've been around more though.
Ash's SM mons were just the best

I hate when people try to equate his SM team with his BW or even his Kanto/Johto teams. Not saying those other teams are bad but SM had a lot of personality.
The SM team didn’t really even feel complete until the Kukui battle. This team had potential to be one of the best, but the lack of meaningful screentime, especially with Melmetal and Naganadel ruins it for me. That and this team’s massive ground weakness, a weakness only rowlet can counter
Let's all take a moment to acknowledge that this is the first ever mythical Pokemon to be caught by a main character.
Melmetal being a Legendary that can evolve is so cool. I know it’s not the first one we’ve known of to do this, but I love that Sun/Moon started breaking series norms with stuff like this, regional forms, and Ash getting to own 2 legendaries including this absolute iron truck
Meltan is a mythical pokemon not even close to a legendary. Legendary pokemon are far more powerful than mythical pokemons

The battle ash’s melmetal had with Faba was funny to me! One of my favorite moments it had in the sun and moon anime!

I'm so glad that Ash has Melmetal for his 1st Mythical Pokemon. Ash has 3 great steel types in Solgaleo, Melmetal & Lucario. I wish it could've battled against Guzzlord and won against it. I wish that Melmetal was used in the WCS & Ash got to use it GMAX form. Melmetal's moveset should be: Double Iron Bash, Thunderbolt, Iron Defense. Gyro Ball, Superpower or Heavy Slam & Steel Beam.
Ash’s first ever Mythical AND first-ever official Steel-type. Also has the honor of being the first among his reserves (and not Pikachu) to use an Electric-type move, and of course it would be Thunderbolt. Naganadel would later share in that honor.
My Melmetal would have these moves:
- Double Iron Bash
- Thunder Punch
- High Horsepower
- Acid Armor
I like that !
Ash’s Melmetal left quite a strong impression. Pun absolutely intended. I wish we could’ve seen it flex those muscles in more battles. Seeing it dominate empoleon was one of my favorite moments in the battle besides Tooracats clash with incineroar and pikachus clash with Tapu Koko

15:20 Melmetal against Steven's team? Steven's team is pretty much a big buffet for Melmetal, 😨😨 Steven has to send out Metagross very early like Kukui did with Incineroar.
Loved seeing Meltan and eventually Melmetal. Seeing Ash have it is so cool i hope we see it again in the future in the gmax form as i think it was a missed opportunity not to have had a battle in Galar potentially with the form. It was a fun addition to the team one i didn't expect for sure!

Fun fact: the colour of Ash’s Meltan’s hex nut varies to all other Meltan in the anime. I haven’t watched the first episode where they appeared but if the nuts are all the same colour then none of them are the Meltan that Ash caught.
The color of Ash's Meltan is only different because the hex nut was used in TR's car. Before "Got Meltan" Ash's Meltan was the same color as the others

I was disappointed we never got to see Ash use G-Max Melmetal in the Journeys series
Since it was officially caught I've considered Ash's Melmetal to be one of the more underrated Ash Pokemon, honestly it deserved to have another battle in Journeys and get to Gigantimax.
Still, it's really great to see a video like this giving more attention to the fandom's proclaimed "Son of God".

Fun Fact : meltan and melmetal is pokemon created for pokemon go and to connect the game with main line series, so yeah even before goh exist, meltan did it first

I've been watching the Alola saga for the past few weeks, and I've come to love Meltan/Melmetal a lot. I wish it did get more screen time/character development, but I was impressed with its showing despite its lack of experience. I wish we got to see more of it in Journeys/Aim to be a Pokemon Master, but perhaps a cameo sometime in the future.
As for a suggestion for a future episode, I'd like to request Ash's Corphish to round out the Hoenn team.
I hope ash and melmetal return in future horizon episodes
A good way to have such a unique pokemon play a major role in anime to show more people it as not everyone would of played go.

Ah, yes. Battling Faba and Hypno. I love it when a bad guy shoots himself in the foot.
It doesn't bother me that Meltan/Melmetal didn't have a dramatic storyline. Everyone having a tragic backstory just makes all the backstories start to blend into each other, like the fire type starters (except Cyndaquil/ Quilava, the only one to not have a tragic backstory). Just being caring, helpful, and having a good appetite makes Melmetal a natural fit on the team.
Ash's very first Steel and Mystical Pokémon. I just wish it gotten more screentime and battle. If Melmetal return I also want it to get it Gigantamax Form.
What I really wanted was an emotional arc. I mention tthis at the end, but that's what I think it needed most. hard to compare its arc to Litten + Poipole

If I could create an official evolution method for Melmetal, I would create a Meltan exclusive PC box. Once the box is full, you would have the option to combine all the Meltan into one, evolving them into Melmetal.

I went into Sun and Moon hating the art style and not wanting to enjoy the anime. But Ash's Pokemon and friends he made there just made it one of the best and most emotional seasons for me. Meltan and Rowlet were an adorable combo!!
I think knowing that Ash would finish the saga with an insanely powerful team that won him his first championship puts everything into perspective when rewatching. With pokemon, everything is better in hindsight lol

It was nice to justify ash having an mythical cause - beside deserving one the most - his opponents gladion and kukui had their owns compared to tobias being the only one with legendaries - tho he was 100% the writers wanting ash not to win by any means -
Plus, at least Ash got the promotion mon unlike dawn cyndaquil and ESPECIALLY Lana eevee that made alot fans mad
I like that they gave him a mythical whose only magic power was being insanely strong, it would have been weird if he got something like a celebi and didn't time travel everywhere

But then journey decided no ho-oh or even the latias - granted it should ONLY be the movie but the fact they built it up only to not even bond well with it was like What? -

Did anyone else thought that when melmetal returned in journeys to gigantamax
A pokemon caught so late in the series it had little time to shine, and evolved very late in the show
The meltan that was caught is probably a straggler that takes the scenic route, hence why it watched rowlet sleep instead of stay with the group. (first appearance wise)
The second most interesting addition to Ash's team after Greninja
I like the bond between Melmetal and Rowlet back when it was a meltan Rowlet became it’s mentor which inspired him call all his friends and evolve into Melmetal after see Rowlet battle in the aloha league.

Would've loved to have seen Gigantimax Melmetal debut in Journeys
It the history given from Willow from Go it’s said that 3000 years ago it was worshipped for its ability to create steel from nothing. It is also mentioned that at the end of its lifespan it will break down into shards that will create new meltan.
My theory is that Oak knew of it because of how it was worshipped in ancient times (there would have been some record of it if it was being worshipped) but there was a lack of understanding of what meltan was because at the end of its lifespan 3000 years ago Melmetal in was sealed away in the mysterious box when it began to rust but before it could spawn new meltan. Could also be that there was t a record of meltan because it formed into melmetal long before it came into contact with the ancient people. In this theory when it was put away in the mysterious box it stopped the process of meltan spawning and that only started after the box was open, only so that meltan weren’t trapped in a box for thousands of years.

Do you think that a pokemon like Melmetal would be a natural predator to the Paradox Pokemon of pokemon violet? They're essentially metal so i don't see why Melmetal won't go predatorial and try absorbing them. Imagine if ash didn't retire and brought melmetal to area zero, or better yet Melmetal trying to eat Miraidon like Heracross with Bulbasaur.

Can you do a history of the pokemon who were shown as nothing but losers and I am not talking about the singular Pokemon like Ash's Oshawott or Misty's starmie but the Pokemon whose species of the whole appeared all across the anime the ants were mostly seen losing after watching your short about Machamp it inspired me to ask you about making a video about all the Pokemon across the anime who have been betrayed there's nothing but punching bags for everyone else
I'd love to do that, whenever it comes to general anime history, it's hard to catch everything so I am a bit worried I'll get picked apart if I miss a one second montage win 😅

I’m surprised that Brock’s beautiful Blissy is strong enough to take on this Iron Giant. I think the gang was pulling on Meltan’s eye before it snapped back and used Flash Cannon. Even though Meltan survived against two dangerous dragons, I think Ash should work on Melmetal’s stamina in order to keep up with Silvally’s speed. If only Ash were to use Melmetal in his gigantimax form. *NO NOT JAMES’ PRECIOUS BOTTLE CAPS!!* I think Pikachu’s spirit vision is based off of Rocky in his first movie, at least I think.

I've always wondered why people still argue that Ash hasn't caught a Legendary with Melmetal since it is one. Mythicals are a subset and besides how weirdly they're distributed, have no distinct qualities separating themselves from Legendaries. I don't think you can sit here and reasonably argue that Arceus and Mew are less important despite having the title of Mythical so my big gooey beyblade shouldn't be considered lesser either.
As a fan since the first generation, I'm still pretty confused why legendaries and mythicals have to be different, I need to double check which one is which a lot lol
