My head cannon is that after Ash left Alola, Lycanroc would occasionally sneak out at night, and go to Clawmark Hill. He would face off against the recently evolved Magmortar and after earning the respect of the Pokémon on the Hill he would then start joining the Midday and Midnight Lycanroc in the opening ceremony of Clawmark Hill
I love the storyline of Ash's Rockruff to Lyranoc, it felt like a true bond between a dog and its owner and I'll admit if was one of my favorite moments in the Sun and Moon anime and I am glad you finally made a video on it Hope you have a great day
It's good to see someone acknowledging the greatness of Ash and Gladion's Lycanrocs rivalry. Their rivalry is very amazing, they're not rivals just because of their trainers but also how much impact they made on each othees, Gladion's Lycanroc respecting and accepting Rockruff as his rival that he don't want to hold back in their first battle out of respect, going on his own to rescue injured rockruff and even fight against Guardian deity to protect him, patting Ash's Lycanroc after losing to him in Alola league to congratulate him, Ash and Gladion having personal talk about their own growth and their Lycanrocs together in Alola league. All these kinds of interactions is something lack alot in other pokemon rivalries, as most rival pokemons rarely treat like they've their own character.
After all these years, I'm SO glad they gave Ash a canine pkmn. Plus, not only do I really luv all 3 Lycanroc forms in general, but now this is the very pkmn that gave Ash his Alola league win. All the more reason to luv and cherish Lycanroc 🐺💕
I remember back when before rockruff evolved I anxiously awaited which form it would turn into. My favorite at the time was midday form, but it was quickly dethroned by dusk form. I gotta tell you that is a very keen observation you made, how lycanroc demonstrates Ash’s increased maturity and foreshadowing of his readiness to be a champ. Makes it all the more poetic, that it won ash his first league in the end. As far as an emotional depth to all the Pokémon, sun and moon is one of if not the best seasons for distributing it evenly amongst the cast. Although it’s hard for me to tell, who is the ace between Lycanroc and Incineroar similar to how Pignite and krookodile played tug of war.
It was always unambiguously Lycanroc and Krookodile imo; Lycanroc was repeatedly shown to be stronger than Torracat and so too was Krokorok/Krookodile with Pignite. Pignite constantly lost matches he had no business fumbling, so he can't be called an ace; like how does he KO an Emboar and Heatmor with Fire Pledge but lose to Trip's Superior with zero difficulty?
@@_Koyomi_ there’s more to what makes Denise then how many battles it wins. There’s also character development and Aces tend to go through the most. Torracat went through just as much if not more character development as Lycanroc if not more. Plus the series concluded without us having an accurate comparison of their strength since Torracat evolved and we didn’t get to see it flex it’s new fully evolved muscles. As for krookodile and Pignite, Krookodile definitely had the better win right, Patrick night went through the most character development and had the most screen time by far it went from runt of the litter, tepig, to Champ pignite. Superior was such a deadly opponent it won the whole tournament without a scratch, and yet Pignite lasted the longest of all of its opponents.
The frightening way that Ash's Lycanroc would fly into a blind rage gave me flashbacks of Korrina's Lucario when it was first learning to control the power Mega Evolution gave it.

Since dusk for is a combination of mid day and midnight And midnight form is based on a werewolf One could argue that the red eyes as seen on midnight form Is just lycanrock tapping into its darker nature Rather than being its take on blaze
There is also another thing: Gladion's first match with Lycanroc was almost 35 between them (I said this only by taking into account his knowledge of stone edge), although there was a lvl difference, Gladion felt something in the look in Lycanroc's eyes. Even though he was an opponent he could easily defeat, he saw something in him and In the match, he attacked ruthlessly without holding back. He rescued him from the river and took him to Tapu Lele, so he was even ready to fight against Tapu Lele. Additionally, when Ash and Lycanroc beat those two, it was nice that Gladion said congratulations champion and shook his hand, and at that time, Gladion patted Lycanroc's head and Ash caressed Lycanroc's head. it was a scene

The League winner himself. I really liked Lycanroc. He was a fun little dog who was a very determined battler and had a very interesting arc surrounding it's emotional outbursts.
It's really great when the Pokemon get arcs of their own, and I like that it's honestly so special in the anime, always a treat. That being said I do think it's one of those Pokemon that suffers from how the anime was told. Like you pointed out there are comparisons between Lycanroc and both Charizard and Infernape, but I don't think Lycanroc even met those two. And that's always a shame, can you imagine if say when they were training with Bulu Infernape and Bulu had a spar and Lycanroc saw Infernape mastering it's own anger? Would really help Ash's larger team feel connected, them building off each other outside of their small groups.
Rockruff is an absolute King. He's a good doggie. Honestly even though there have been so many dog pokemon in the past, Rockruff and the Lycanrocs are the best to me.
Lycanrock became my favorite of Ash’s Ace Pokémon because I feel like it did everything right: A unique/special form like Greninja, violent/problematic behaviors it had to work through before and after it evolved like Charizard, and an immense amount of power it had to train to master like Lucario. Lycanrock went through all of this and did it better than any of the other Pokémon I mentioned, in my opinion!

I think Ash’s Lycanroc was very cool and his best Rock type and the first ace to give Ash a league win and do either I Ash’s Incinaroar or Hawlucha next.
Fun fact, dear Billy of ashes, liking rock allowed able to evolve into dust form and directly confirms that like rocks ability is on tempo since Violet only like rock ruff with temple can evolve into duct, warming rock
The fact that olivia knew ash’s rockruff was close to evolving and still didn’t give him the lycanium z was weird cz once ash did get the lycanium z from nanu the rockium z became useless. If she had given ash the lycanium z ash could’ve gotten some other z crystal from nanu. And thus would’ve had more possibilities.
I always feel like lycanroc is still very underrated despite winning the league for ash. People always have krookdile more recognition than this poor pup
If Ash had a Midday Lycanroc, he would literally be the yang to Gladion’s yin. But I think the Dusk version carries both yin and yang traits at the same time.
I think lycanroc got more development than incineroar and was ash's primary battling pokemon. Besides it was ash's final pokemon in his rival battle. With the exception of Hoen(where he didn't really have a proper rival but IM counting the morrison battle for this and unova which was a 1 v 1) ash's regional ace is the last mon standing in his rival battle.
Lycanrock is a great ash Mon tbh, normally I have criticism about ashes mons but I can't think of any of lycanrock it just makes sense in the whole like idea? ( I can't think of the word I'm looking for) of alola

The video I've been waiting for, so what will happen next? If it continues from Alola, let it be one of Inceneor Naganadel or Rowlet.🤷♂️
Incineroar coming soon :)
Lycanroc is my favorite Rock Type that the Midnight form has not only a Anime look, And in my series it has a Human Form
I like how Ash owned a cat and and a dog truly goes in with the family of Ash, Kukui, Burner and Lei i dont remember his name cry
Dusk lycanrock is awsome my favorite form of it
Fun fact, dear Billy of ashes, liking rock allowed able to evolve into dust form and directly confirms that like rocks ability is on tempo since Violet only like rock ruff with temple can evolve into duct, warming rock
Nice video alex
If Ash had a Midday Lycanroc, he would literally be the yang to Gladion’s yin. But I think the Dusk version carries both yin and yang traits at the same time.
video idea: History of Ash's Rowlet
In my mind, it was Ash's ace in the Sun and Moon series, although I can understand why some would say Incineroar.
Something just snapped inside of him😂
is it the mix of the day form and night form so red eyed is eye of the night?
Lycanrock is a great ash Mon tbh, normally I have criticism about ashes mons but I can't think of any of lycanrock it just makes sense in the whole like idea? ( I can't think of the word I'm looking for) of alola
Ashs lycanroc is the true ace. He has to come back to redeem himself from the 6 vs 6 right?
Probably one of the most Ash-fitting Pokémon designs tbh, up there with Hawlucha
Im hoping ashs lycanrocs will return and redeem himself in a 6 vs 6 because he deserves to come back.
Ash was out here taking rock throws? It's no wonder he's the regions champ 😂
