- A live example in front of the Height Chart showing how my height changes as I move the camera up and down.
Rob Paul from CelebHeights is a solid 5ft 8, but can look well above or below this mark depending on how high or low the camera is.
It all depends from the angle of the camera. In one photo I appear taller than my door and when I posted on a social media a new friend I made online asked me If I was 6’8 because i seemed taller than the door. I told her is just the angle of the camera I’m not that tall
If the person's head is looking 14 inches big you know it's some sketchy angle lol

I noticed this about films and tv long ago. Camera angles also can make the difference in the height of actors less noticeable. Usually this is intentional unless the scene calls for someone's height to of import to the scene.
Yeah, it can make height guessing difficult at times.
So is holding the camera at eye level the optimal way at ensuring you get as close as possible to you're real height?
If standing in front of the chart try to get the camera as close to your height as possible, which is harder than it seems!
@@RobPaul What about facing with you're front side towards the wall, standing tall and touching the wall with you're head whilst holding the camera from the side, wouldn't that look pretty accurate on video?
Put the video to 1:15. The top of Rob's head is at the 6'6 mark, yet his eyeline is barely 5'9 and shoulders are like 4'8. Those proportions are completely impossible, everything is way out of wack. You can apply this to IRL pictures of people standing near each other to tell if the camera angle is exaggerating someone's height or not. Like sometimes two people will have the same shoulder level but one guy's eyeline will be way over the other person's head.
a year ago, I used to think I was 5ft 5 just from the camera angle for a long time but was shocked to see I was actually only 5ft 3
That would have been a shock, but you now know your real height.

Rob, please do me a favour and measure your height with the stadiometer at different directions. At the usual position, then rotated 90degrees, 180degrees, 270degrees. I can guarantee the measurements will be different each of the 4 times. I have noticed this myself that although the floor looks even, the measurement will change if you rotate the stadiometer (unless you happen to have a totally even floor). Also please thumbs up as I am not sure if Rob will see this message.
Hey big Rob, if I measure between 5’10 1/8 and 5’10 1/4 at my lowest at the end of the day would I be considered a “strong” or “normal/true” 5’10? I’m curious as to how the weak/strong scale plays in with my height
You would be a solid/strong 5’10. Ur likely a weak 5’11 before bed.
Hi Rob, can you upload a movie clip where they do this to reduce the difference of the actor’s height? It would be great if you could explain how they do it :)
You need to update Joey Essex’s height. I’m around 5’9 and this guy was a giant compared to me. 100% over 6 foot

Last year I was 1.76m tall and I took some photos for school, I have a slim build and tall limbs so in that apparent photo I am 1.85m... today I am a little taller since I grew up, could you talk about this Rob ? I had a 2 cm shoe at the time of taking the photo, it was not the fault of the angle since they took it from the front
So if Nike Air Max 95 trainers add 3.4cm and insoles add 7cm would I be 6 foot in them with them all combined? I’m 173cm
@@Martin.24_o the math and u come out as over 183.4 with them, so ur over 6ft. But I definitely wouldn’t recommend wearing all those lifts.. not only will it be hard to walk in, and painful. It’ll also be obvious that ur wearing lifts. You’re essentially wearing heels. If ur a lifts-wearer, the maximum footwear u could wear without being too obvious or in pain is probably 5cm.
Anything big Rob doesn't know about height isn't worth knowing

You're a strong 5ft 7, a stable 5ft 7.5, and a very weak 5ft 8.
5’8 is a slight stretch based off ur data.. 5’7.5 is much more fair in this case

I agree with it because one of my cousin is 5ft 11(she claims 6ft) and she can look in the 6ft 1, 6ft 2 range due to camera angles with my 6ft 3 friend.
I am about 5'11'', also, and I have been mistaken for 6'2'' and 6'3'' a couple of times.
Can relate. I have normal proportions but in most of the photos I have standing beside my parents, who are 5’8 and 5’6. I’m 6’1 and I can look as tall as 6’2.5 to 6’3 just by standing a slight bit closer to the camera

Rob, i'm measured 174,4 or just over 5'8.62 after 17 hours of waking up, shouod i take it as my normal evening height or as my very low height?
You are unlikely to be shrinking more after 17 hours of being awake...unless you go out and do a session at the gym.

17 hrs after being awake ur at ur absolute low.. u wont really shrink past that unless u do a heavy activity, which might shrink u 1-2 more mm..

I'm flat 178cm in the morning, usually down to 177cm in the day after walking and down to 176.5cm or 176cm in the night, should I claim 5'10"?
Almost 5ft 10 might cover the kind of range you fall within.
If u can measure it then it’s fair.. but if u wanna be honest don’t claim morning height, 177cm or 5’9.5 (or saying almost 5’10) is much more fair and honest
Rob do you think that hgh therepy can add like 7-8 inches for a person who's not deficient in gh and is like 20 years old and his growth plates are open as some people's growth plates don't fuse till 22ish

No, that's just unreasonable. Most people I know were done growing by around 16, and while it's still possible to grow after the age of 20 it's probably only a tiny amount. Like half an inch at best.
HGH won't help you that much. Growth plates not being closed yet doesn't imply they haven't matured to their limit already, they just have to go through calcification aka the latest stage.
Some bones like the collar bones don't stop growing until the age of 25 for everyone and yet they don't keep getting longer and rip a hole in your skin.
Frequencies are better. My plates are still open and I turned 20. I grew an inch in a month using sapien meds grow taller field twice a day and a stem cell frequency for bone growth by sound healers for 30 minutes a day. I recommend you try that

So this pretty much negates all past uploaded pictures to the site of celebrities standing against height charts. They are just too unreliable.

True camera changes heights, this trick has been used a lot in film lol. Kind of related but when your looking in the mirror its kind of hard to get your height as your looking not level with the top of your head.

Hey Rob, is using a mirror to compare heights with another person always accurate?
You can get a rough idea, but sometimes our eyes looking in mirror's might interpret things differently than if you had somebody directly between two people observing their height in the mirror.
Not always. In fact, mirrors tend to distort the real difference.

@zg 11 11 where I live we utilize cm for measurements so I claim 172cm too, but I'd claim 5'8" in other countries which is no big deal I believe. I'm obesseed with measuring my height, not long ago I remember measuring more than 173cm in the morning so I think claiming 5'8" is fine when people usually tend to add 1 inch from their actual height, sometimes even more.

OK, three points.
1. You're done growing and probably have been done growing since age 17. Most men stop growing between 16 and 18. Almost all by 19.
2. Do you really only lose 1.5 cm? That's crazy. I'm not much taller than you and can easily lose 2.5 cm over the course of a 16 hour day.
3. You are a weak 5ft 8 or just claim "almost 5'ft 8." But I agree, on CelebHeights you would be 5ft 7.75.
Rob, I met xolo mariduena at the Comic-Con he had nike flex rn and I had airmax 95 I think I grew to 174-175.3 because I was about 1 inch taller than xolo with airmax 95

Hello rob , If I wake up during the night to go to the toilet and after it I go back to sleep , I grow normally ?
If it’s a quick #1 which’ll only take a moment, then u will probably lose 1 or 2mm max, practically nothing. You will easily get that back when u lie down again. If it’s a #2 which’ll take a few to several mins u might lose 3-4mm in that time. Again it’s nothing to worry as u will regain that amount once lying down in ur bed.
rob can you do a video if sleeping in the day / laying down in the day restores all of your normal height or atleast some of it
I did something slightly similar but there is another option for a longer lay down and recovery….

1.5cm isn't a huge shrinkage. You are likely going to get 5ft 7 listing...but sometimes if I am looking at a celeb and think sometimes they look 5ft 7 or 7.5 I'll go with 5ft 7.25.

Depends on your parents and when your genetics tell you to stop. You could be done growing already or grow 8 more inches. Most people grow about 5 inches after age 14.
Dependent on ur parents heights and when u hit puberty. 14 is still young and most 14 year olds still grow a few inches. If ur an early bloomer u might close in on 186-187. If ur a late bloomer (which i doubt) then u certainly will grow several more cm.

Medium for most races. Medium fluctuates between ~160-166cm.
But these are technicalities. Most women will be between the heights of 155-167cm. That's what a woman usually looks like when you go for a stroll.
Put the trivial bullshit aside, if you're 164cm barefoot you're the perfect average. That's fine.
Depends on location. In western countries it’d be average, Since the avg for most western countries can range from 162-168cm. (Apart from Netherlands or a few European countries where avg is closer to 170). But If ur in the US or UK you would be about average. If ur in Asia where avg ranges from 152-157cm, 164cm is quite tall.

Well any height can be attractive to someone, attractiveness is subjective. U could be 5’6 and have a superior build, or 6’4 and be lanky or obese. For me I’d consider 6’1 to be ideal, not super tall and definitely not short. U could be any build at 6’1 (fat or fit) and still appear quite tall to most people.

I was 172 cm at 16 and now I'm 178 cm at 22, my mom is 164cm and dad is 167cm. So my guess is that you will be 178 to 180 cm at my age now.

I personally think as much therapy should be tried first, as that's really an extreme measure to be considering.
Hopefully I grow to 170 cm at least which is 5'7" otherwise I'm thinking to get this surgery
