I'm an asian man who grew up on a rock in the middle of the pacific ocean (Hawaii). Even I know sweet baby james and James Taylor. The man is a national treasure.
Love how Zac Brown seems like a kid in a candy store. Man, I can not imagine sharing the stage with James Taylor and having him sing one of your songs!!! Once in a lifetime and quite possibly one of my favorite live performances of all times!!!

Zac & Jame's voices blend perfectly and it is so cool to see Zac's obvious admiration for JT, and the "I can't believe I am singing with James Taylor" expression on his face! Superb quality, too. I am a huge James Taylor fan but as a Brit this is the first I have seen Zac Brown.......Bloody wonderfull!!!!
Zac is a special talent, but Colder Weather is by far their best song. He has lots of good stuff IMO, but nothing else truly amazing.

@@TravelWBrennanMegan I like those songs, but Colder weather is one of the best songs I have ever heard of any musical genre. Best country song of the 2000s IMO. Better than anything Garth ever did and right up there with anything by George Strait.

I love this. Watch the way the Zac doesn't take his eyes off JT while James is singing Zac's song. Can you imagine that feeling? It's like...Wow, I'm standingnhere on stage with Mr. James Friggin Taylor and he's playing acoustic guitar on my song and singing the words I wrote.... At the end, Zac looks like a kid at Christimas who just got that shiny new bike that he had always dreamed about. Goosebumps and a standing "O". Very very cool. Thanks for posting this.
Yes...as much as Zac Brown has acknowledged JT's influence on him, this had to be a very big moment for him. Wonderful performance!
Colder Weather is my favorite ZBB song, but it was primarily written by another band member not Zac.

I've watched this video at least a 100 times. One if the best performances I've ever seen. The passion ZB has cant be restrained and it comes through so well! You can tell how in awe he is at performing with James Taylor too.

JT, such a beautiful man. I was born the same day as James, 12March1948. I so wish I was him, and I try, but there's only one real JT (my nickname too) on this planet now. I love him so much. Thanks for sharing this. It is wonderful.

Its kind of emotional seeing his own emotions in that part.
When James Taylor starts singing, Zac is just standing there watching. At that moment he is just a fan, like us.
Not only do I admire Zac for his song, but also for his authentic, no ego reaction to James singing it. A lot of guys would either consider themselves too "cool" to react or they would display a fake show of humbleness. Zac is basically sharing a stage with one of his greatest influences and a standard-bearer of modern American music. His response is appropriate, if not restrained. Were it me (and I'm a musician), I'd be in fetal position, weeping like a child. This is a wonderful moment.

One of those rare magical music moments, when James Taylor goes into Sweet Baby James. Pure joy reigned throughout the auditorium. The whole song is magical, but that moment, if possible, took it so much higher.

My husband and I have been lucky enough to be able to take our 3 sons to see JT in concert. He has the ability to make a whole venue feel as though we were in his livingroom chatting. I sang them to sleep with "Sweet Baby James" for years. Over the last year or so I have found myself becoming a big Zac Brown Band fan. I look forward to seeing them when they come to the Philadelphia area. Thanks for the wonderful post.
My my, James Taylor is a complete original.. Nobody else like him..When you listen to James Taylor you get the feeling that everything's gonna be alright, even if its just for a couple of hours.. Amazing.

Zac Brown is a VERY humble man!! I worked in a bar in Oklahoma City when he was big on the Red Dirt scene and he was genuine!! You can tell this was a very special thing for him!!! He couldn't hep but belt it out there at the end!!! SO cool and can't think of anyone more deserving!!!

This was absolutely fantastic. I saw something similar when Garth Brooks played Central Park back in 93. Doom McClean came out and played American Pie. Garth smiled the whole time Don was singing. Very cool.

I grew up in the era of "Sweet Baby James" and always liked this song. just a few years ago, and over 40 years after he recorded that song I had the chance to go see him in concert. What a great night that was. When he started to play "Sweet Baby James" I got chills and before he was through the first verse my eyes welled up with tears. Here I was, sitting not 30 feet from him listening to him sing and I was that teenager again, just for a little while.
Great collaboration. James is the finest singer/musician of my generation. I think his voice actually sounded better as he matured. Zach will be around for a long time. A lot of these country singers all sound/look the same. His distinctive style and musical ability will set him apart-far apart-from most of the country acts out today.
James Taylor is a major influence on many bands, this one included.
