It's only 95 chapters It's It's like the 3rd shortest part but when it gets animated it will be even longer than Stardust Crusaders and don't get me started on Part 8 i feel like it will be split into 3 seasons
It's so refreshing to see a male mangaka who actually knows a bunch about fashion, both men's and women's, cuz so many times I've seen contemporary manga with atrocious outfits that solely look that way cuz the mangaka themself doesn't know anything about fashion of any kind and wasn't willing to do some research.
JJBA is the only anime that has made me more artistic and creative leading me to draw better and better and find ideas for outfits ,traits and ect. While Also allowing me to relate to most characters ( like Joseph). when I saw part 2 i felt more confident about having brown hair and different style and taste from other people. without JJBA i don't know where I would be today
If you think so, then why do you prefer part 2 over part 5 ? 😶 Those outfits are really interesting. And what do you mean with "confidence for brown hair" ? Why would you be ashamed for having brown hair.
I look, act, and sound like Narancia, when i got to part 5 i knew i found a character based off of me, lmao were both Italian crossdressers, hes my most relatable character and I feel more confident because I act exactly like him with anger issues and im not the smartest person, and i listen to Aerosmith, the name of Narancia's stand
With Stone Ocean anime coming up, i really want the big designer names to collab with Araki/Jojo. Because most of the characters names are after big designer names and Araki's style really made them look like models already. It'd be such a good move too to bring in new peers. Because there are jojo fans who arent into fashion not knowing why alot of names in SO are localized. And ngl, some fits in Jojo can be in the haute/couture runway. The stands can even be in the collection too. Its so avant garde and camp, i think it'll do well. And because of Jojo's character designs, i really want others to follow this too. Coming up w more recognizable and statement looks.
shame he didn’t bother with part 7 and 8 for this, his fashion inspiration _really_ shines through there; he described it as a renaissance for the series, allowing him to go back to the roots of the series with all the experience he gained- or more specifically, allowed him to go back to the historical setting with the style and outfits of the later parts

Actually in phantom blood the reason why the characters are so unbelievably huge with muscles is due to the 80’s films that involved muscular men like Arnold Schwarzenegger and that guy who played Rambo (I forgot his name)
Fun fact: Diavolo and everyone in the Bucciarati team except Mista and maybe Fugo was designed to be a girl, and then Araki said "Fuck it, I make girls in the next part". Same with Kak and Anasui.
Glad to see someone giving some acknowledgement to kars, he gets forgotten a lot but imo he is a very early example of the androgyny that JoJo would come to be known for in later parts. Also unique to see the feminine aspects like the dangly earrings/eyeshadow were on that overly masculine body type because he hadn't changed the way he drew bodies yet. Shame you hadn't read 7 & 8 when you made this video, cause I think that has some of the best costume design stuff in it, but I'm sure you'll appreciate it if/when you get there ^^
I appreciate you calling out the musical references. It would have been great if you got more specific about the influence of how characters are portrayed in music videos of the early 1980s, also heavily influenced by abstract art and fashion. Get to the 00:18:00 point in the video for Elton John’s “I’m still standing” and you’ll see Jotaro’s character influences. 🙂
My personal theory about Jotaro's hat inspiration, is that it's an reference to Prince's Automatic music video where he wears a similar hat and there's a play with backlight
Too bad during a another video that judges character design Crymetina critiques they didn't know any of the characters so they either skip characters or the style choices didn't made any sense to them they didn't like rohan's pen theme or Anasui's foot patterns what is kind of funny though is because they didn't know any characters they made fun of Johnny for not standing

I am keeping up with the manga currently so I do encourage you to at some point read SBR. [Implicit PART 6 SPOILER AHEAD] Araki takes fashion to a different standard in SBR and his reimagining of the JoJo Universe, so much that at some point the fashion actually starts to overtake him, and towards the end of SBR a lot of faces start melting together, characters being only distinguished by their unique and exaggerated fashion choices. Not saying this to undermine the series in any way, as I do believe Part 7 is, in the best sense of the word, the definitive JoJo epic, but to emphasize just how much fashion is central to JoJo, so much that characters become mannequins for the clothes they wear. I would also be willing to believe that kind of outfit is just common in the world. Many people were turned into stand users long after they were wearing that, so it's fair to assume that its common fashion in this world, or better yet, the type of fashion creators they have in this world aren't equal to our world (like how nobody is willing to bring up the fact that stands are named in universe to music artists).

Nice video!!
Araki is dangerously inspiring
I like to think he has a 10-second audio clip of him saying, in a very epic way, the parts 1 through 6.
10/10 video
