I really miss the Saxxy Awards. So many talented SFM artists competing, and making masterpieces. I was going to try to do SFM animations when I was like 12 because of the Saxxy Awards, but never could figure SFM out.
You forgot to mention Tux. It is a cosmetic item based on Tux, the mascot of Linux, and can only be obtained if a player launches TF2 on a Linux distro in a specific period of time (February 14 2013 - March 1 2013). It was initially promised to become tradable once the promotion is over, but to this day, it's still untradable.
When I installed it, I couldn't even play it, when i was bored one day I decided to use Steam Achievement Manager and saw that I can get AVA achievements completed even with it not playable.
I can actually think of a situation where someone would want to trade the manne’s service medal away, like if someone were to quit tf2 and they know they are not coming back, but they still want to keep their items in circulation.

I have one of the universal kits, and yes you could. It would be stupid, because the double effect does not transfer to the next item you apply the kit to, but it literally has no restrictions on what it can be applied to.
I hope the Poker Night games are re-released in the future, not just to get those rare items but because i really love the interactions with the characters.
I remember when the whole Golden Wrench fiasco dropped and everyone was basically in a race. Shocked that it was actually on an interval timer and not completely random. I remember ol’ community server hopper me would claw at any chance to craft the thing. Crafting the Engineer token thinking I could pull it off. I didn’t but damned if I care. I didn’t even play Engi lol Stuff like that makes TF2’s history nostalgic to me though.
You could’ve also mentioned the Halloween Spells that gave you a deeper voice, colored footsteps, gave soldiers purple rocket trails and pyros green flames.

Nice video. Sadly you've missed a selection of items but they aren't really necessarily known or all tradeable. As for example, the black rose was also a promotional item but sadly no longer obtainable due to the game not being on steam anymore. It was possible to craft them for a while until Valve patched that. Only a few tradable ones exist and has an insane price. There's also an angel thingy for people who didn't idle during the times the hats were first dropped Anyways, for the rest it's a great video though :)
The vintage lugermorph was actually a promotional drop, along side the vintage Max's hat, for pre-ordering Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse. They originally dropped as just unique, but were made vintage to differentiate them from the achievement dropped version of the Lugermorph from poker night 1. All tradable lugermorphs are from the devil's playhouse promotional event Also the Devil's Playhouse is getting a remaster so how nifty would it be for that event to come back :o

I can (and recently did) sell my entire backpack, worth over $1500 bought almost entirely in what is now substantial credit card debt I could not afford, stuck with random basic achievement hats, items, but no matter how poor I am still have that badge as a flex haha. Saxton's Own Spirit of Giving is around ~4200 too and got the Japan Disaster relief + Cheater's Lament also.

The poker night stuff can't actually be obtainted in vintage form, just the lugermorph because it also came from a different game. Also other very rare items you cant get anymore without trading: Community Sparkle Lugermorph, painted cow manglers, charity items, spelled case items, and monday night combat items just as a few. Great video!
Pretty neat video, even if it weren't all the items you can't obtain anymore. I mean, there's a bunch of crates and the items from the Pyromania update and such. Nevertheless, it was short and sweet and well made, good work! If I may give a tip though: I'd highly recommend not making TF2 videos too often, it only leads to burnout. You'll hit a brick wall eventually, and if you don't properly pace yourself, you're not gonna last very long.

I'm surprised that you didn't mention the Black Rose, since it's an Achievement item for a long-dead game and therefore isn't tradeable or at all obtainable (excluding a very small handful of bugged ones). Edit: I saw the second video, glad to be part of the problem lmao
fun fact: the lubricious lid is a limited hat for soldier that adds a hallelujah sound effect to the kamekazi taunt. there are vintage versions of it but they’re rarer and is really expensive (discovered the vintage version on accident while getting the lubricous lid on the community market)
The fact that some weapons are no longer obtainable helps me keep my #1 spot as the person with the most unique weapon types. Going by the game’s database ID that is used which makes each weapon truely unique.

@@Succer Every item in the game has an ID, but many weapon skins take the original weapon and modify it, while still technically being the same weapon. For example, an Australium Flamethrower is the same as a normal one, but with the single attribute added. If you look at the list of items defined in the game (tf/scripts/items/items_game.txt) you can see which ones are truely unique items, with the modified ones missing from that list. Another example would be most “genuine” quality items. There are only a few that exist as their own unique weapon, while most simply change the value of the quality attribute.
you can still get the poker night 1 and 2 items, you just need to add someone who still has these games on their libs, ask for them to share with you and use Steam achievement manager to unlock all the achievements
The one item that hurts the most that is unobtainable to me anymore is the triclops for pyro. Downright the coolest cosmetic for pyro ever, locked away behind an achievement in a game that is forever dead.

Hearing the part about the Saxxy's makes me wish Valve could, in some way, be involved enough with the community to host a Saxxy's again. Have a SFM category, GMod category, or a combination of the two since I see some TF2 animators using a blend of both. I imagine with how the current landscape of TF2 is, bots roaming around and whatnot, that a video competition like this would encourage people to go out and try animating on SFM or GMod. I know I'd love to see TF2 animators have a spike again.
You can get the non vintage poker night items still. I bought a code for the game off amazon and was able to play it and get all the items for TF2 even after the game came off of the steam store.
I missed out on the ear buds because of a person I'm longer friends to, he has tf2 on his mac laptop he brought to school, I asked If I could quickly login to get them and kept saying no till the event was over, he was the only person I knew who had tf2 and owned a mac at that time
you forgot about the spy knife the black rose, it was a free promotional item for playing the now defunked Alliance of Valiant Arms game. It goes for about 300 keys to get a unique one now a days because the only ones that exist that are tradable are from bugs
My favourite hat which I once bought at a cheap price on the community market was the Grandmaster (Chess hat) -> This hat was amazing, it allowed you to have a floating chess piece above your head which would change on different classes and (I think) the more kills you got?

Seeing the Bill’s hat on here made me genuinely upset. I had one of these a few years ago, but a “friend” of mine from my high school traded me a bunch of in game weapons for it. I was extremely new to the game and I had no idea that it was an unobtainable thing. A year or two passed before I realized he was an extremely toxic person who was doing more harm to my life than good. I think he still has it, now it’s painted and he uses it for one of his load outs.

About the Poker Night items... I actually managed to get a key for the game somewhere and was able to play the game on Steam, though it didn't actually show up in my library. Basically, to open the game I had to left click the Steam icon on my taskbar and launch the game through there. At the time, I was trying to get better at poker and I ended up getting all of the items for TF2. So they can most certainly be obtained, but you'd have to find a key for the game to get them.
I spent hundreds of hours trying to craft that gold wrench. I stupidly sold my vintage pokernight items, and vintage bills. I also had recrafted nearly all of those retired hats stupidly and sold them as soon as they hit vintage quality, at low low prices,
I’m big glitch collecting and know a good amount of history and own a good amount of items if you ever intend to do a video on glitched items I could show you some pretty cool items. I would love to bring more light to these amazing items.
Assuming that Poker Night 1 & 2 both still work (they probably don't, given Telltale's status, but still) you can still download and play unlisted games, if you bought them before they came unlisted, which would allow players to acquire these achievements. It's one of the rad things about steam: they don't ever take away your games when they go under (unless the servers were shut down for an online only game, but that's not on Steam), so you can download and play any game, even if you can't purchase it.
I also have some items you can no longer get that were not on the video. These are the ETF2L medals/badges for participating/winning in ETF2L league 10 years ago. Not sure if other leagues had such badges, ETF2L was the biggest one after all.

There were items available in 2011 as a fundraiser for disaster relief for the Tsunami that hit Japan. I remember one of them was a rising sun headband.
Pretty sure someone has already commented this by now but the vintage lugermorph is not a Poker night 1 item. It was obtained with the Max's head and big kill by pre-ordering Sam and Max devil's play house. The lugermorph originally was unique like the other 2 items but when Poker night 1 came out the lugermorph from the original promotion were turned vintage to distinguish them from the new unique and untradable ones.
Also about the golden wrench thing, there were 2 accounts banned related to it. The guy that somehow obtained leaked information from Valve and found out the drop time and the guy that was on the server when the other guy came on and started a count down to when the wrench was dropping. Both got VAC bans, but the original guy with the leaked information was actually hired by Valve later on from unrelated projects he worked on and later got his VAC ban removed.
The golden wrench wasn't random. They became craftable between 1 hour intervals. Valve did this so all timezones had a chance but the news leaked which meant some people were crafting on a timer to get wrenches. I think some people got banned.
Although the poker night items can't be bought by normal means by special means such as g2a selling the steam key for it and family sharing is now really easy but other than that good vid !

Proud Primeval Warrior owner here. I can (and recently did) sell my entire backpack, worth over $1500 bought almost entirely in what is now substantial credit card debt I could not afford, stuck with random basic achievement hats, items, but no matter how poor I am still have that badge as a flex haha. Saxton's Own Spirit of Giving is around ~4200 too and got the Japan Disaster relief + Cheater's Lament also.

The poker night stuff can't actually be obtainted in vintage form, just the lugermorph because it also came from a different game. Also other very rare items you cant get anymore without trading: Community Sparkle Lugermorph, painted cow manglers, charity items, spelled case items, and monday night combat items just as a few. Great video!

Man, I get that the items in Inventory 2 weren't amazing as they were just cosmetics, but I really liked the Long Fall Loafers!
Pretty neat video, even if it weren't all the items you can't obtain anymore. I mean, there's a bunch of crates and the items from the Pyromania update and such. Nevertheless, it was short and sweet and well made, good work!
If I may give a tip though: I'd highly recommend not making TF2 videos too often, it only leads to burnout. You'll hit a brick wall eventually, and if you don't properly pace yourself, you're not gonna last very long.

There is the TF2VRH of which only ~1000 exist and were given out with the very first oculus dev kit in 2013. It is Genuine quality too.
I'm surprised that you didn't mention the Black Rose, since it's an Achievement item for a long-dead game and therefore isn't tradeable or at all obtainable (excluding a very small handful of bugged ones).

fun fact: the lubricious lid is a limited hat for soldier that adds a hallelujah sound effect to the kamekazi taunt. there are vintage versions of it but they’re rarer and is really expensive (discovered the vintage version on accident while getting the lubricous lid on the community market)

The fact that some weapons are no longer obtainable helps me keep my #1 spot as the person with the most unique weapon types. Going by the game’s database ID that is used which makes each weapon truely unique.
What weapons arent obtainable? The Capper or Batsaber or something?

@@Succer Every item in the game has an ID, but many weapon skins take the original weapon and modify it, while still technically being the same weapon. For example, an Australium Flamethrower is the same as a normal one, but with the single attribute added.
If you look at the list of items defined in the game (tf/scripts/items/items_game.txt) you can see which ones are truely unique items, with the modified ones missing from that list.
Another example would be most “genuine” quality items. There are only a few that exist as their own unique weapon, while most simply change the value of the quality attribute.

you can still get the poker night 1 and 2 items, you just need to add someone who still has these games on their libs, ask for them to share with you and use Steam achievement manager to unlock all the achievements

The one item that hurts the most that is unobtainable to me anymore is the triclops for pyro. Downright the coolest cosmetic for pyro ever, locked away behind an achievement in a game that is forever dead.
2:22 Hey I just want to point out that it is still possible to obtain all of these items. You can purchase an unused steam key for the game and play through the game to get the items, thats how I have mine. (fav is the enthusiasts time piece and the dangeresque too. And great vid btw I loved it :)

Hearing the part about the Saxxy's makes me wish Valve could, in some way, be involved enough with the community to host a Saxxy's again. Have a SFM category, GMod category, or a combination of the two since I see some TF2 animators using a blend of both. I imagine with how the current landscape of TF2 is, bots roaming around and whatnot, that a video competition like this would encourage people to go out and try animating on SFM or GMod. I know I'd love to see TF2 animators have a spike again.

You can get the non vintage poker night items still. I bought a code for the game off amazon and was able to play it and get all the items for TF2 even after the game came off of the steam store.

you forgot about the spy knife the black rose, it was a free promotional item for playing the now defunked Alliance of Valiant Arms game. It goes for about 300 keys to get a unique one now a days because the only ones that exist that are tradable are from bugs

Seeing the Bill’s hat on here made me genuinely upset. I had one of these a few years ago, but a “friend” of mine from my high school traded me a bunch of in game weapons for it. I was extremely new to the game and I had no idea that it was an unobtainable thing. A year or two passed before I realized he was an extremely toxic person who was doing more harm to my life than good.
I think he still has it, now it’s painted and he uses it for one of his load outs.

About the Poker Night items...
I actually managed to get a key for the game somewhere and was able to play the game on Steam, though it didn't actually show up in my library. Basically, to open the game I had to left click the Steam icon on my taskbar and launch the game through there. At the time, I was trying to get better at poker and I ended up getting all of the items for TF2. So they can most certainly be obtained, but you'd have to find a key for the game to get them.

Assuming that Poker Night 1 & 2 both still work (they probably don't, given Telltale's status, but still) you can still download and play unlisted games, if you bought them before they came unlisted, which would allow players to acquire these achievements.
It's one of the rad things about steam: they don't ever take away your games when they go under (unless the servers were shut down for an online only game, but that's not on Steam), so you can download and play any game, even if you can't purchase it.
I also have some items you can no longer get that were not on the video. These are the ETF2L medals/badges for participating/winning in ETF2L league 10 years ago. Not sure if other leagues had such badges, ETF2L was the biggest one after all.

There were items available in 2011 as a fundraiser for disaster relief for the Tsunami that hit Japan. I remember one of them was a rising sun headband.

Pretty sure someone has already commented this by now but the vintage lugermorph is not a Poker night 1 item. It was obtained with the Max's head and big kill by pre-ordering Sam and Max devil's play house. The lugermorph originally was unique like the other 2 items but when Poker night 1 came out the lugermorph from the original promotion were turned vintage to distinguish them from the new unique and untradable ones.
Also about the golden wrench thing, there were 2 accounts banned related to it. The guy that somehow obtained leaked information from Valve and found out the drop time and the guy that was on the server when the other guy came on and started a count down to when the wrench was dropping. Both got VAC bans, but the original guy with the leaked information was actually hired by Valve later on from unrelated projects he worked on and later got his VAC ban removed.

The golden wrench wasn't random. They became craftable between 1 hour intervals. Valve did this so all timezones had a chance but the news leaked which meant some people were crafting on a timer to get wrenches. I think some people got banned.
