    I was just looking to know if group boards were still a good strategy, and well, I'm glad to discover that it's not anymore before investing a lot of time in something not useful anymore! Thank you Sarah.

      It definitely used to be a must! Back when that was a thing it made pinning so much easier- everything is harder now doing manual pinning. But if that's what they want... that's what we do!

    Love your channel! Is it OK to schedule pins from Canva, or is it still preferable to do it manually?

    • @SarahMarieBlog
      @SarahMarieBlog  2 года назад +1

      I've never tried to schedule pins from Canva but I image it's much of the same. Pinterest would probably still prefer that you pinned directly from the platform!

    hope you can help, i've been pinning a lot fresh video idea pins last weeks, and also pinning them (as standard pins) which helped me grow from 0 to 27k monthly views in one week, but suddenly next day, everything stopped and i now am hardly getting 10s of impressions for my new idea pins, checked lots of videos and places, but no other result, i have built new boards, still no news, can you help what's the problem ? thanks !

    • @SarahMarieBlog
      @SarahMarieBlog  2 года назад +1

      I wouldn't stress, this is very common with Idea pins! They are different than regular "text" pins that you see all over the homepage.
      This is the way that it is across all short form content, even here with YT Shorts. Idea pins will get the more reach quicker than regular pins but will tend to taper off quicker and not get as many views.
      They disappear after 24 hrs in your Pinterest story, making less people see them too. Regular pins are the opposite. They take more time to take off, but have a longer shelf life in terms of ranking and getting views!

    is your course for beginners or would it be suitable for those of us with more experience. I know all the basics but am wondering about keeping up to date strategies

    • @SarahMarieBlog
      @SarahMarieBlog  2 года назад +1

      It's a mixture of both! You can watch the videos and take the course sections in any order you want, so you could always skip over what is not useful to you.
      On my sales page, you can scroll down and see every single section laid out. So you can decide if you think it's worth it for you!
      It was designed for beginners to be able to take, but I do have my up-to-date strategies and process in there, plus I will be updating the course for free and likely adding more sections as Pinterest changes or I get more questions I think need to be covered!

    Hi Sarah, fantastic video. I am interested in your course, but I wonder, will Pinterest do well for getting traffic in the photo manipulation/book cover niche? I guess any designer could use my products. I have a store providing unique content.

    • @SarahMarieBlog
      @SarahMarieBlog  2 года назад

      I'm honestly not sure! That is not a niche I'm familiar with. I did put in a few keywords into Pinterest and it seems there are quite a few searches and boards made around book cover art & illustrations.
      It may be something you'd want to look into more, you'd probably know what keywords are better to look up than I would! :)

    Hi Sarah, great advice thank you. Canva has a schedule now too to post pins. Do you have any advice on if we should use that or if it's a Pinterest partnered scheduler?

    • @SarahMarieBlog
      @SarahMarieBlog  2 года назад +1

      I've never used it before so I can't say for sure, but I'd think the scheduler built into Pinterest would still be the best option. The Canva scheduler is still an "outside" scheduler so the results will likely not be as good!

    Thanks for the new video. Guess Pinterest is moving away from Quantity to Quality now. The old ways of spammy pinning by the dozens are not going to work. However, heard that Pinterest has started to throttle outbound clicks in an effort to retain visitors onto the platform irrespective of whether you pin original quality content or not. Have you noticed a reduction in outbound clicks on your accounts?

    • @SarahMarieBlog
      @SarahMarieBlog  2 года назад +2

      Pinterest has been moving towards quality over quantity for a while now!
      I have noticed some things Pinterest is doing to keep people on the platform, which is pretty dumb if you ask me since they wouldn't even have a site to begin with if creators weren't using it to direct people off the platform. That's the entire point of Pinterest!
      I definitely have noticed a drop in clicks compared to what I used to get, but Im not sure if that has to do with Pinterest or me!

    Creating a blog post every week while you need to work to earn money, + creating enough new pins every week is very time-consuming. I just created a post with a ton of recordings for language learners, and the writing, designing, and research process took me almost 10 days. Well, I must say that it's a long post as I heard that long blog posts do better on Google. Sarah, can you tell me if it's (still) true? Also, if my goal is to attract people to my website (to work with me as a tutor), if I create pins providing size-bites lessons, does it have any value to attract people? Could you do a video on the different types of regular pins (infographics, short 'lessons', etc.). Sorry if I don't use the correct terminology to name them. My question, in short, is whether creating pins with a value by itself is a good or bad strategy compared to a pin just to attract people to your website. Or should we alternate?

    • @SarahMarieBlog
      @SarahMarieBlog  Год назад

      Yes! Long, informative posts do better on Google for sure. However, if you are just writing a long post for the sake of writing a long post and you're adding in fluff just to hit a wordcount, that won't help you. The blog post should really be as long as it needs to be! Whatever that means for the topic you are writing about.
      As far as pinning, I think you should do both. I've had infographic pins do very well on my account. They always preform the best for me. You can add quite a lot of information to a pin and people will not only stop to read it, and re-pin it but it also brings a lot of traffic to my site as well! You could also try idea pins or video pins with lot of info in them as well if you're good with video!

    • @chrystele-fr
      @chrystele-fr Год назад

      @@SarahMarieBlog I would never do a long post to add fluff. I'm really trying to add value. Nonetheless, it requires a lot of time between the research, the design, the SEO/marketing aspects, and the pin(s). For the different kinds of pins (I tried an idea pin that worked very well in impressions, but only one outbound click). Yes, I thought about infographics, but what about bite-size lessons?
