- You don’t have to pull the sword from the stone to board this classic coaster! Part wood, part modern steel, this rollercoaster thrills riders with straight drops and sharp banks. With breathtaking, scenic views, the 2,145 feet of tubular steel track twists into a figure eight crisscross through the Minnesota wilderness. You won’t want to miss out on this hidden gem. Even though it may not receive the same hype as our other coasters, many loyal fans swear that this is the best coaster for various reasons. But you can form your own opinions after your ride. Located near the back of the park, make sure you make a pit stop at Thunder Canyon to get your daily dose of splashes.

this looks like one of those homemade backyard coasters on steroids
I know old comment but I literally just thought this to myself haha
Forreal
This comment is too underrated
It does l9l
For Real It Does But Nope It’s Not
When you forget to use the smoothing tool in planet coaster
This is smoother than coasters in planet coaster
Um not really
Bacon Dude36 than i have no idea how you make your coasters in planetcoaster
@@bacondude3696 maybe we'll know if planet coaster ever has the decency to include Arrow Mine Trains
I think a coaster counts as a classic when the designers did their calculations with a slide rule
Fun fact: this track is actually a mathematical trefoil knot, meaning if you could pull the track tight like a rope, it would form an overhand knot
So... Knot Berry Farm?
@@bocahdongo7769 this reply is so underrated
@@bocahdongo7769lol
you're the mathematical trefoil knot !
Cool! I've been thinking of trying to categorise roller coasters based on knot theory. There are surprisingly few that aren't unknots.
I love how there’s never a line for this amazing ride. Idc how short it is, it’s a gem.
I know for such an amazing ride there is no line but I know wild thing a corkscrew and other rides have lines
It's the only good thing about this coaster
It is very nice overall
Very underrated coaster right here
Yeah cause it sucks
Its not bad coaster in its self it's just that'd is so got damn bumpy is crazy just like the Hades ride at Wisconsin dells it fun but it's bumpy asf
@@josiahnelson3588 Corkscrew or Excalibur
Fun but bumpy and whiplashy af
Plant some damn trees around this, Valleyfair. The near-miss effect would help riders forget how short it is.
That's a bad word.
Yeh it would be so cool if they did that, and maybe make it worth riding because that would be epic...
Thats a good idea but this ride floods alot so.... Idk
They actually added trees I live really close to ValleyFair and it’s like a full on corset now
@@floralbubbles3897 ik whent a couple days ago just a few trees tho
I’m old enough to remember when this ride was new when I was a child.
That janky arrow triangle hill at the end is just pure, unrivaled fun.
I love how the part at 0:52 feels like you're crashing down to earth, creating a big hole and a lot of rubble, it's truly creative. Great job Valleyfair!
I remember when I thought the first hill was so high....
Then I moved to Florida.
Extremely underated
yes! finally a pov.
This ride should not be getting negative comments. For an arrow, it is a masterpiece. It stays low to the ground and focuses on speed and forces. The airtime is also great. The only negative is the trims on the drop.
"Turning" the ride
-beside the drop an small straight section after the drop, the whole rest of the coaster is turning either to the right or left.
No, that'd be Hurler at Carowinds
This actually looks really fun tbh
CHARGE!!!
Lol dun dun dun dun CHARGE!
I always assumed this ride was completely made of wood. Never rode it because it looked old and rickety. But looks like a ride you need to go on at least once just for the unique experience.
It’s top 3 at valley fair imho it’s actually pretty fast and longer than people think
@@Yacbros.productionsand hardly any lines for being so far back in the park!
This ride is what happens if Skyrush and an Arrow Mine Train had a child
Here are the stats...
54 m.p.h
100 ft.
105 ft. Drop
...
OMG THIS ONE AT NIGHT IS SO COOL
Too bad it's not open during Valleyscare.
Really this one is cool at night I wanna ride this at night
Why are there trim brakes on the drop?
Coaster Company 😭😂Ts funny
To reduce roughness
I think its just to slow it down, and then at the end it looks like it boosts, idk, its unique tho
Would you rather ride it without them? XD
Less wear
I've been on this ride, it goes Super fast! Like, it makes your head go down because of all the G force!
@@bmfanboy8838 obviously you never been on it lol
@@chuck4714 it doesn’t really, I rode it 3 weeks ago and it was slower than most of the coasters there. Renegade, Twister and Wild Thing are definitely faster
Yaaaas
@@aidsetab806 the speed can maybe only a impression.
Schweizerbobbahn feels faster as Blue Fire in Europa Park... But i didn´t is
@@aidsetab806 bro what is twister
This coaster is basically if Arrow Dynamics combined a hyper coaster with a mine train.
I love this coaster. My most favorite ride at Valleyfair.
I love this ride....never have to wait in line......
Time to retire this.
Not yet
The chain lift is music to my ears !
Mine Train on Steriods
Finally got to go on this yesterday for the pass holders, 100% one of my favorite coasters.
so true. it breaks my neck and both my arms but it’s worth
who here thinks it would be cool to give excalibur the RMC treatment and maybe expand it a little adding and inversions or two?
I agree it would be cool, but I doubt it will happen.
I don’t think it’s going to happen at a park this small
@@jordanlevesque9594 The sad truth
Nah this ride is good the way it is
Its called the iron horse treatment.
rode this yesterday I love it!!!
My first ever coaster
Thats intense for a first coaster..
@@guiderex2514 Yeah, it was about 7 years ago, I was eight
Great intense underrated coaster
Oh man I miss this coaster. I gotta make my way back next summer
I was hoping there might be one last surprise before entering the station (like the Excalibur at Astroworld in Houston), like a quick surprise sideways loop.
My favorite coaster because it's all the way at the end of the park and the lines are short as hell. Sometimes, no lines. 😄
That's awesome.
The chain lift sounds exactly like the start up of roller coaster tycoon
I heard a rumor that they were tearing this down? I hope it's not true since I really enjoy this one
They are not
No if they do anything to any coasters they should fix high roller and get it a paint job
@@brianschlais3027 yes i agree high roller needs a paint job badly!
@@marvelousmari7278 yeah it does
This looks like Gemini with one track on steroids
Before RMC there was Excalibur
this ride needs an RMC conversion
I forget this ride exist
I really hope they don't dismantle this thing it looks awesome
I love Excalibur
I never rode any of the big roller coasters but I kinda wanna try this one
do it, it’s not that bad
@@johnbolanos483 thanks
@@brianschlais3027did you do it?
This ride was waaayy ahead of its time. This is Literally RMC before RMC.
best thing about this coaster is that you can usually ride it back to back cuz there is hardly ever a line, and its old and clunky and has charm
this was my first rollercoaster I went on this ride when i was 10
Yes the ride is short but you can definitely have fun on this ride, it being all the way in the back of the park it doesn’t get much attention so you can ride the roller coaster up to 4 times in a row with no wait.
This. Is a personal favorite for its speed and dare I say pleasurable roughness ,and there's no line
Arrows version of a hybrid coaster.
2nd best coaster right behind RENEGADE
I personally think the Wild Thing, High Roller and Steel Venom r before Excalibur, i do agree that renegade is the best
I agree. More airtime on this than wild thing
my father actually works at that plant called anchor glass, fun to see my fathers work on youtube.
This was the first rollercoaster I went on and I All most passed out and my glasses almost fell off
Best mine train by arrow
I remember growing up when it would flood and half this track was underwater
Here’s a tip for the rollercoasters here if you don’t want to feel the drop press your feet against the ground so your thighs are pushing against the bar and close your eyes works every time trust me
this ride breaks my neck
I remember going under those rails above and the poles were so close I had to pull my friends head up as fast as I could because they passed out at kinda hung out of the car and nearly hit it. I was just mmmm. But it’s kinda fun other than that
i was on this ride today it was prety cool
Every time I ride this I get anxiety thinking it’s gonna break
The closet ride I have seen to the ultimate
Please keep Excalibur!! Don't get rid of it!!!
Yeah, I would get rid of Corkscrew, and replace it with a B&M Invert.
When this first opened the straight track after the first drop had a little bunny hill that was painful on your thighs It was such strong ejector air. Pictures of it are almost impossible to find.
This ride is too painful 😖
Crazy Crew I know eek 😬
Guess I rode it on a good day judging from the comments
EXACTLY!!!!!!!
Crazy Crew everyone makes it out to be worse than it is, in my opinion, corkscrew hurts 100 times more than this
@@trisalty1172 no. But corkscrew shakes your head between the handles lol. Have you gone on wild thing (MY FAVORITE!!!!!!!!!!)
Excalibur should have some sort of Sword in the Stone, and Lake Motif.
Arrow lift best sound
Not the easiest ride on your back and it gets really bumpy on the turns but a fun one to try.
Is it being shut down? I still see it on my way home from work but I couldn't make time this year to go. By far my favorite coaster St valley fair
if RMC operated in the 80s
mini Magnum
Why there’re trim brakes at the beginning of the drop?🤔 To reduce the speed in order to control some lateral Gs?
legit thought this was a backyard coaster in the thumbnail
They should kill this and rebuild it as a new steel hybrid coaster and name it Excalibur’s Revenge it needs the RMC treatment
RCT3 coasters be like
Looks like an early version of an RMC
When you try and make a arrowlooper a hyper coaster
I thought this would be super rough, but it’s actually pretty smooth. It does jerk you around a little, but that’s what’s special about it.
3000 sub squad
Is this their take on a mine train? If so, it’s enormous!
Mine trains in Minnesota
Lol
Nah it’s a hybrid
Similar to Gemini at cedar point
Whatever happened with the bunny hill after the first drop?
I hope they don’t remove this
There's only 2 bad spots, the top of the first bank and that turn right after. Other than that its a good ride.
And this spot at 1:13 is a bit rough too
Dum da dum dum dum, charge!
0:53 it looks like that first turn has been reprofiled.
I actually auditioned to be on a commercial for this ride right before they opened it! The first few times riding it was really cool, but now it seems pretty tame (& short!) compared to Wild Thing -my personal favorite
Best coaster at Valleyfair
I went on this one yesterday day it was so scary
Tho
They should put a big mountain scenery thing with a sword
Definitely better than Wild Thing for speed wise
Determined Apocathy it has better pacing, but the top speed is a little far from wild thing.
I'm confused... Is this a wooden coaster a steel coaster? Or a hybrid?
Arrow Dynamics Coaster
Venus Aziara Hybrid
made of steel but supports are wood
Is this ride bumpy? I’m going to valley fair tomarow
i know this is probably really late considering u last edited this a year ago but yes it is kinda awful
Considering it's built on wooden structure it's a little bumpy still fun though considering I haven't been on it since 2001.
I went on it and it was fun
i went on it before and it goes SO fast
In the part at 0:57, you just can't move. You're freaking PARALYZED for about two seconds.
Very underrated, but the scariest coaster to ride, not because it aggressive, but because the base is so untrustworthy, and you think the wood holding it up will collapse mid-ride
Like you’re on a ride on valleyfair
anyone else look up valley fair cuz their sad and want valley fair to open again 😩
Ugh yes but it’s opening May 22nd
Talk about rough
Isn't this the ride everyone thinks will close since 2015 cause I can see why
open the damn coster
this ride could use some theming and scenery. And maybe better seat padding... or an RMC makeover.
yoyofargo it's not a wooden Coaster, it just has wooden supports
This is a steel coaster...
@@triple7marc Thank you for your input. RMC doesn't only refer to retrofitting wooden coasters. The company started with park scenery. If adapting is what they do best, they can certainly consider tackling a steel coaster.
yoyofargo You said this ride needs an RMC makeover. Putting in scenery would not give this ride a makeover. Perhaps you meant remove the track and add RMC track. In that case, I misunderstood and I apologize, but that’s NEVER going to happen. However when someone says “RMC makeover,” 99.9% of the time they’re talking about a wooden-hybrid conversion.
