Also using an undershirt makes the shirt look better as sometimes you can see the skin, specially if you have darker skin like me. Many people don't like to wear them but I think for a formal shirt its a must.
I always wear an undershirt by habbit and just always do. It does make the shirt looks better especially if its thin and seem like it can see thru the shirt. But for me one big reason is also if i sweat through the armpit it does not sweat thru the shirt or as much. I just hate seeing people wear a bright shirt and sweating thru the armpit of the shirt.
I wear a full suit even when I’m working at home. 1. I never know when a job will come up that needs me to go out. 2. It sets my frame of mind to work hard even if I’m at home. 3. The wife really likes the look.
Hey Antonio, I want to say thank you! My dad recently lost a lot of weight and I took the chance to convince him to upgrade his style. I use your videos to double dip and teach him English as well.
I have never had a white dress shirt last more than 1 day, the collar always gets sweat stains and that makes it painful to pay top dollar for high quality stuff.
Subscribed a year or so ago when I decided to start dating again after the big "D" was finished. Wanted to take my wardrobe up a couple of notches. RMRS was/is the place to do it! Always VERY informative! 'Landed' a classy lady that appreciates a well dressed man and a formal night out on the town. Next stop- Slick Collar.
I usually like to have my dress shirts a bit on the loose side, but I usually wear them with a skirt that starts at the waist. Unfortunately many of my old dress shirts are worn out enough that they don't feel nice anymore, and only look good with a jacket (and my only jacket I can wear them with is a '70's army dress jacket I found at an antique shop), so I'm trying to phase them out a bit. I don't think I want to replace them, especially after seeing this. I'll just end up with the same 6 shirts all over again. I think I'll start getting dresses instead. That way I won't have to buy skirts either.
Nice tips, one reason I avoid dress shirts usually is the ones I usually can afford..don't really fit a bigger guy like myself and the collar always chokes me. The older I get the more..well..old fashioned I become and my idea of what I find nice looking as dress cloths goes back to my maternal great grandfather who loved to wear full suits..dress shirt, pants, suit jacket, dress shoes, and a fedora. My grandmother was born in 1948 so you can guess the kind of style her father would have worn through the years.
My tailor is a He Antonio! Loll just for kicks! Shout out to my tailer Ohmed in Georgetown, ON. CANADA. At Gold Needle Tailoring. Courteous gentleman he is!
Avoid t shirts with polyester. An all.cotton tshirt with powdet underneath will keep you drier and therefore cooler. Also serves as giant dress shield to.prevent perspiration show through on your dress shirt.
my tailor advised me before to always get a perfect fit on shoulder area..its one of the most difficult to get altered..other areas the tailor can adjust quite easily
I live in the southern United States where tempratures can be above 90 degrees all summer. Add to that a 60-75 percent humidity and the t-shirt might have to be left at home. A suit jacket, dress shirt and tie with the t-shirt underneath can be uncomfortable. I don't own a t-shirt. The new well dressed me will be buying a few. I'm in your RMRS community. Thanks for everything.
As someone who’s always worn an undershirt under my dress shirts, and some other types of shirts, I’m seriously considering not wearing undershirts anymore and going bare underneath just like you do. Lately, I’ve noticed how bad it looks on other men when I can visibly see it under their shirts.
@BOLTEN595 I haven’t done it yet, but I’m seeing a lot more men with no undershirt underneath their dress shirts and how good it looks. It’s only a matter of time until I start going bare under my dress shirt just like you do.
@@bolten5955 🙌 You’ve converted me to Team No Undershirt! I made sure to style my hair with gel while I was still shirtless to make sure there was no way for me to change my mind and put on an undershirt. It felt liberating and free, and I looked much better in my dress shirt, going bare underneath. At least from all the men who took off their suits, I saw no visible undershirt underneath. There was definitely the one odd man out who wore an undershirt, and it looked terrible. I can’t go back to wearing an undershirt anymore. Just like you from now on, no undershirt!
Hi Antonio, I'd like to wear an undershirt but for my white und light-blue colored shirts you can see the undershirt outlines at the arms and the breast which looks very silly. How do you deal with this? Surely I cant be the only one with this problem.
I think I saw a video on Slick Collar before, but since I watched this video, I started to get recommended videos comparing Slick Collar to Million Dollar Collar. The 2 comparison videos I watched slightly favored the Million Dollar Collar. I would very much like to hear your thoughts on both products. For what it's worth, I did see something on Amazon suggesting that shirts with the Million Dollar Collar can only be dry cleaned.
I tend to spend a bit more on dress shirts than the average person I know and even though I never wear them with an undershirt, when they break or become unwearable in another way, it's never staining etc. but instead the fabric breaking down, usually at the edges of the cuff or collar.
One problem. Here where I live, here in Asia, there is a very strong association of white shirts with Mormons. I have owned some beautiful white shirts in the past, but I've never worn any of them because of this association. Then they go yellow. Sad.

Maybe some dress shirts have weak collars but Charles Tyrwhitt shirts do not have this problem. At least not in the last 18 years that I have been buying them and only them. I am their Biatch 🤣😂🤣

What do you suggest if the shirt meets the requirements and looks amazing but properly fitting it to your body type requires buying it a size larger? Obviously, this presents you with problems like oversized sleeve width and excess chest material. Is it better to say bye-bye to that shirt or learn how to sew?
