I knew these boys were talented but I had no idea their talent was off the charts, literally. These songs are music staples of the repertoire of the artists who did record them. Their talent just blows me away.
Maybe the BEST unknown talented band of the 70-80-90's. Needs to be recognized nationally as a TALENT not yet Recognized. These Kentucky boys are just too good to be ignored. EVERY Country artist knows J. Pennington (JP) and Exile ... They are famous in the Music Industry. (not just Country). Huey Lewis and the News got RICH off these guys. Glad that "Mail Royalties" still paying them. FYI: JP... Showed up for the first Exile Band Manager's funeral in Hazard Kentucky (45+ years ago) this summer 2022 in Hazard . Drove from Lexington to see an Old Friend. JP is Real People.
Sonny is my wife's 1st cousin and back in high school he was in one of the best local sock hop bands, The Sceptors. I've been accused of having a slight resemblance to JP - wish I could play and sing like him. Speck's, Club 68, Cabin Inn all great Kentucky honkytonks from the 70s.
Sonny, Yes, the fans bought your music, but you have to be able to write songs that the people want to listen to and THAT is a special talent that many can't accomplish. So even though you give your fans all the credit for buying and listening to your music, it comes back to you, the writers for writing songs that we want to hear.

I have loved Exile and their music for so many years. Their sound is the best in the business. My dream would be to have a front row seat at one of their concerts. Oh! Boy, what a dream come true. I love their songs, their music and their blended voices. Best music anywhere.

J.P. is not the best guitar player on the planet but he is the Most Tasteful Guitar Player I have ever heard and I've listened to everything from Glen Campbell to Eddie Van Halen!

Being from Kentucky I have always loved Exile, but I had no idea they wrote these wonderful songs for other artists! Such a talented group!
