Do any of you guys ever feel like a specs battle has become pointless and a phone choice is more of a aesthetic and subjective
choice now that the performance across the board is excellent?

Out of principal, it feels very stupid to buy a phone that's half the price of my prescription glasses.

Sort of. My main concern now is battery life and good update support. (Or an unlocked bootloader). There's a point in price where performance is already more than good enough for regular use.

cause its more expensive and you can generelly make the sides smaller then the top or bottom. Top can be bigger to incorporate bigger Speaker grill, or Selfie Camera and other Sensors(extreme example iphone notch) and the bottom needs to be Bigger cause thats where the Electronicss for communication and displaying sits.@@hamza-chaudhry

@@snjert8406I'll never understand why people dislike bezels. I prefer them, keeps you from accidentally touching or smudging the screen when it's in landscape. Also it gives room for better cameras and speakers. There are only positives to bigger bezels.

    • @PomuLeafEveryday
      @PomuLeafEveryday 9 месяцев назад

@@nuggetsaltshaker9520 Nothing phones have slightly bigger bezels than most modern phones, but has them completely even around all sides which looks so aesthetically pleasing.
I don't mind bezels, but when a phone has an ugly big bezel chin and short top so your screen is off-center when in landscape, it's ugly as hell.
Having a chin does nothing for your grip, who the hell is holding the phone from the bottom? And even if it does have a chin, it's usually still small to not give any benefits to grip, it just looks ugly with no user functionality.

I love to finally see a company that makes a phone with a plastic back. It does not make sense to have a beautiful brittle phone made of glass that you have to hide inside a cover so it does not fall apart. I hope this starts a trend toward tougher materials instead of glass.

Chinese counterparts actually destroy the nothing phone 2a in terms of value. Default software might be unmatched but remember that we are in Android OS and we could actually emulate or even get a better system than the one on the nothing phone based on our needs and wants. For the US market though, the msrp value seems pretty good but it literally falls apart when we consider carrier deals for apple/samsung/motorola/oneplus and this "good" msrp is actually still bad value. I know Arun is pretty crazy for comparing it flagships but every chinese phone aims to do the same thing though and nothing phone can't match the chinese market. The saving grace of the software and led gimmick will fall apart as I think it is literally useless

Didn't notice a crazy difference in performance from my previous iPhone 12 Pro.
I love the glyphs, I actually thought it would be gimmicky. 1. Super Clean UI. Like you don't even notice it.

    3. Solid overall design. Flat screen, even bezels all around, doesn't feel big or heavy.

This looks more like a midrange phone than a budget phone.

Seriously considering… I love my iPhone XS Max, paid $1300 6 years ago. I like it because of it’s all glass, super thin, has minimal camera. Unfortunately it’s about time. It will be not supported soon enough and only thing flagship I have seen that worthy of a $1300 spend again would be a Huawei. But I should try a cheaper android first.

Just bought this phone. Aside from the haptics everything else is quite solid. Performance is quite good enough. As a normal everyday phone, im liking it. Even the camera's were better than expected. I can see why a lot of people compare nothing with flagship phones, even though this phone costs very less. The build quality although plastic feels quite nice. I will only use it with a case though since plastic will scratch. But so far so good.

I decided with the OnePlus 12R, raw power, amazing battery life, 80watt fast charging in America, great fluid amoled screen, beautiful color, although the cameras are just ok. and I love it! A true flagship killer imo. Also love the OnePlus watch2, and the OnePlus ear buds 3 which work excellent paired with OnePlus phone. But I give nothing phone credit, they came up with a very good product! Very unique

    My preferences -
    1. Fast Processor
    2. Big Battery
    3. Great speakers
    4. OP level camera
    5. Plastic Back. Glass breaks
    6. Don't care about 90/120 Hz. I always set to 60 Hz.
    7. Don't care about bezels. When you can get used to notch, I can get used to bezels.
    7. Mid-size screen.
    8. Headphone jack
    9. Fast Charging (can manage without it too)
    10. Stock or close to stock android. No Android.

I have aNothing Phone 1 and love it. It is up there with my Pixel 7 Pro. I love the interface and how everything just works, like my work iPhone.

This is the kind of phone that interests me. I'm not a phone "power user". I make calls, send messages, watching RUclips videos. The occasional photo that will never gets looked at again. Only thing is the budget phone I bought 5 years ago still does all that stuff for me, but when it does eventually die on me it's nice to know there are solidly built phones out there to replace it.
