My review of Nothing Phone 2. 1. Super Clean UI. Like you don't even notice it. 2. Bad cameras. Way worse than a 5 year old iPhone. 3. Solid overall design. Flat screen, even bezels all around, doesn't feel big or heavy. 4. Great but not the best performance. No frame drops playing Honkai Star Rail on highest settings.
5:27 there is a minor mistake... S23 ultra uses 8 gen 2 and s24 ultra uses 8 gen 3... A bit of a mix up there.... Great video nonetheless... Nothing short of perfect as always @mkbhd
Hey Marques the reviews that you make are decent but as a person who likes cameras on a phone, it would be great if you also showed us how the videos look from the camera, some people are interested more in the video quality that the phone can produce. So in my opinion talk about the videos from the camera because people would like to hear that too
Am I the only one who is sick and tired of every phone having a footprint of an oil tanker? Anything bigger than 6.4" for the average person is downright useless
Yo Marques, noticed an error in your data labels. At 5:28 you listed the "S23 Ultra" benchmark numbers. As a tech enthusiast, and owner of an S23 Ultra, those are way higher than my phone and I assume they are S24 Ultra numbers. Just letting you know, keep up the great work.
I would describe the Phone (2a) as the "iPhone" of midrange Android - nothing too fancy, but it's a well balanced phone that gets the job done. Nice one Nothing! 💯
@@zethloveless7238I mean yeah, last gen flagship chip put in a 7 year old body sure is fast, but is overall a worse package. OP does have a foul comparison, I'd argue more that the A54 is the Android to a midrange iPhone with it's glass back and all that, or Pixel 7a with good cameras, wireless charging and a flagship SoC is, but overall the NP2a is just a slightly better phone than the SE3 when you look at the average score in every compartment.

Went back and forth with this and a OnePlus 12r. Benchmarks make me glad I went with a 12r. With trade in of my Apple watch the nicer version was about the same price. Use to have a similar score on my last phone and 8Gen2 slaps.
So why did I pay $405 with priority shipping to Idaho for a 16gb ram 256gb storage 12r and typing on it now?? It was only 36 in taxes making it only $20 more. Ummm how is that not worth it?? I'm always impressed with how good you're videos look and that pan shot with flipping thru apps with no one touching it? That was just a screen record right?
So, i own the nothing phone 2, and the greatest thing about their phone is the software! coming from lg g5->huawei p20 pro->xiaomi x11 to the nothing phone 2 and using samsung's from parents and friends its absolutely astonishing to me, how their are small annoyances on other android skins which are nearly all completely resolved in this. I cant even describe it, but just using it is so great, the bugs and overheating Marques described in his review of the phone 2 are never experienced by me, maybe because ive bought it later then when he did his review, its just great. the glyph is just a gimmick i never really actively use, buts thats just the flashy marketing point of the phone. Battery Management on this Phone is just superb. Such a nice damn Phone for a good Price.
I appreciate the coverage, but Mediatek means DOA for me and many others. A 7 gen series should be in this phone, nothing else. Nothing missed the mark with this just for that reason, nvm the rest that don't reside with me. Also, their OS support is not good at all throughout the company, 3+1 years ain't cutting it nowadays
Reminds me of the good old days when toys were made with clear plastic and you could inspect the circuit boards and servos. I really liked my transparent gamepad for my SNES.

I was in the market for a budget Android phone for doing testing and development. Saw this video when it came out and decided to give the Nothing 2a a shot. I received it last week and have had almost a week of trying it out. I'm really impressed. You weren't kidding about no bloat ware. It's really clean and smooth. I might even daily drive it once in a while, and that says a lot because I'm a pretty hardcore apple person.
Day 1 buy for me. Been wanting an android to compliment my 15 pro. Was just waiting for a price point and company that made sense. 350 and a company I respect is all I need.
Seriously considering… I love my iPhone XS Max, paid $1300 6 years ago. I like it because of it’s all glass, super thin, has minimal camera. Unfortunately it’s about time. It will be not supported soon enough and only thing flagship I have seen that worthy of a $1300 spend again would be a Huawei. But I should try a cheaper android first.
Its not that important of a review, just see the M2 MacBook Air review, its literally the same device but a different chipset lol. But yea, I would like to see the review as well 🤣
Just bought this phone. Aside from the haptics everything else is quite solid. Performance is quite good enough. As a normal everyday phone, im liking it. Even the camera's were better than expected. I can see why a lot of people compare nothing with flagship phones, even though this phone costs very less. The build quality although plastic feels quite nice. I will only use it with a case though since plastic will scratch. But so far so good.
I decided with the OnePlus 12R, raw power, amazing battery life, 80watt fast charging in America, great fluid amoled screen, beautiful color, although the cameras are just ok. and I love it! A true flagship killer imo. Also love the OnePlus watch2, and the OnePlus ear buds 3 which work excellent paired with OnePlus phone. But I give nothing phone credit, they came up with a very good product! Very unique
My preferences - 1. Fast Processor 2. Big Battery 3. Great speakers 4. OP level camera 5. Plastic Back. Glass breaks 6. Don't care about 90/120 Hz. I always set to 60 Hz. 7. Don't care about bezels. When you can get used to notch, I can get used to bezels. 7. Mid-size screen. 8. Headphone jack 9. Fast Charging (can manage without it too) 10. Stock or close to stock android. No Android.
This is the kind of phone that interests me. I'm not a phone "power user". I make calls, send messages, watching RUclips videos. The occasional photo that will never gets looked at again. Only thing is the budget phone I bought 5 years ago still does all that stuff for me, but when it does eventually die on me it's nice to know there are solidly built phones out there to replace it.

The synths in the opening monologue are straight 🔥🔥🔥
Logic made it
Love the Cybertruck cameos!
sorry but you have got to give the starting video/animations from marques, they are so clean and so well shot, props to you and your team
5:27 there is a minor mistake... S23 ultra uses 8 gen 2 and s24 ultra uses 8 gen 3... A bit of a mix up there.... Great video nonetheless... Nothing short of perfect as always @mkbhd
Ordered it today,I will be using it tomorrow.
How do u like it?
Hey Marques the reviews that you make are decent but as a person who likes cameras on a phone, it would be great if you also showed us how the videos look from the camera, some people are interested more in the video quality that the phone can produce. So in my opinion talk about the videos from the camera because people would like to hear that too
i agree
Comprehesive camera details are for @ supersaf. Subscribe to his channel for that
I couldn't agree more!
RGB on the glyphs based on apps would be so cool
LG had an RGB home button a decade ago. They definitely could
@@R3AL-AIM They could, but they wouldn't do it. They purposely made the glyphs white
Tecno pova 5 pro has those RGB lights, still a shitty phone, but yeah
They lose the aesthetic if they make the glyph RGB, I'm sure they will never do that
Because everybody else needs to know what app you're using?
missing Retro-tech and would love to see Blackberry OS review in 2024
Am I the only one who is sick and tired of every phone having a footprint of an oil tanker? Anything bigger than 6.4" for the average person is downright useless
Not the only person, but not a lot of people. As a person who uses their phone a lot to watch media, I love my phone having a big screen.
I wish there were more 6.1
I do a lot of reading and watching RUclips content on my phone, so I prefer bigger screens.
@@beerdemus2812 6.4" is already a large screen found on car dashboards. That's my point.
For a lot of people phones are their primary devices so of course they want a big screen to watch media and play games
I noticed too it says s23 ultra but says snapdragon 8 gen 3 guessing it's suppose to be s24
I would describe the Phone (2a) as the "iPhone" of midrange Android - nothing too fancy, but it's a well balanced phone that gets the job done. Nice one Nothing! 💯
That's right
lol no way. iPhones all at least are extremely powerful. This is not.
Daym! Phone companies need to hire you guys for phone shots! That intro was so EPIC!
They're basically making Pixels for people who don't want Pixels
but many cheeper
True I had pixel 6 pro but totally regretted 128GB storage for photos. Feel pixel are way to light on storage Also screen started to go black and suddenly failed after a year. I like nothing style and decided to jump in with the 2a it's cheap and double the storage. Haven't noticed issues gaming with WOTB.
@@russellhenderson4608 thank u so much I am a medicine student and am running on a budget, I was torn between nothing 2a and pixel 7a. I was thinking about getting the pixel cuz I thought it might be a better investment but wasn't sure. Now I am gonna get nothing 2a without a doubt
Nothing should really become international quickly, until its to late and the other Tech Giants take over, like in Australia and New Zealand…
The company 'Nothing', right, not 'nothing'? lol
They do ship to Australia now
That “ongoing thing by 20syl” at 6:53 gives a nostalgia of watching your review videos back in 2016. I just can’t express the feeling 🫶🏻
Yes, 20syl makes some bangers!
easter egg maybe?
I prefer the base models' design. But then, I'm just gonna slap a case on it.
Transparent case is the answer
@Umar_Akmal_PAK96 nobody cares
@Umar_Akmal_PAK96 who tf created this useless bot to comment something that people don't even care about
ordered one for myself, going from iphone 14 pro max is a big change but by the looks of it, the phone seems to fill my requirements
Let me know your review after using it!
Logic’s music in the intro is always 🔥
0:18 "Cameras" iPhone SE doesn't even have cameras😂
Wdym?
@@anirbandutta6913 That was a sarcasm, cuz iphone se just have 1 camera🤭
Went back and forth with this and a OnePlus 12r. Benchmarks make me glad I went with a 12r. With trade in of my Apple watch the nicer version was about the same price. Use to have a similar score on my last phone and 8Gen2 slaps.
12R is like twice its price?
Are you comparing a flagship against a budget phone?!? What
Sure that 12r will be better lol
So why did I pay $405 with priority shipping to Idaho for a 16gb ram 256gb storage 12r and typing on it now?? It was only 36 in taxes making it only $20 more. Ummm how is that not worth it?? As funny as it is right now you get a $100 gift card somewhere just saw that in a OnePlus email this morning. But I'm only a bicycle mechanic so what do I know about looking for deals.
Nothing is probably one of my favorite phone companies out. Their design and everything they’re doing is amazing. I really want them to keep innovating with their designs
I'm always impressed with how good you're videos look and that pan shot with flipping thru apps with no one touching it? That was just a screen record right?
It always makes me laugh listening to people justify needing a "high performance" phone....for what? Better texting? What a laugh.
Gaming, editing documents, editing videos…basically eliminating having to carry a laptop or tablet when on the go
@christianhillpt most any phone these days can do those tasks.
@5:29
Doesn't the s23 ultra uses snap dragon 8 gen 2?
True, but the score is from S24 Ultra
you are right, but the score is def 8 gen 3 tho
2:10 What is the keyboard in the background?
I don’t know exactly but I guess oneplus keyboard
@@Ojas.soniii nope. OnePlus keyboard's arrows don't have the gap on the left. And the keyboard in the video has black borders
@@Ronkly ohh wow and if you get to know it please do tell 🥰
Looks like something from Keychron, Dearest.
Samsung S and Nothing phones are aesthetically pleasing design
white one looks like Baymax
@Umar_Akmal_PAK96 huh?
Yeah kind of 😂😂
@@afridfadel It's a bot. I've seen this comment in other threads as well
I appreciate the coverage, but Mediatek means DOA for me and many others. A 7 gen series should be in this phone, nothing else. Nothing missed the mark with this just for that reason, nvm the rest that don't reside with me. Also, their OS support is not good at all throughout the company, 3+1 years ain't cutting it nowadays
8:50 how long is *AWT22W* there for us?
Those info shots were GORGEOUS bro *AWT22W* is the best thing you said, got in
5:50 bloat wear. is this auto generated?
Reminds me of the good old days when toys were made with clear plastic and you could inspect the circuit boards and servos. I really liked my transparent gamepad for my SNES.
9:10 It's practical to have cameras on the back of your phone??? What?
This whole episode feels like it's written by AI.
Of course it is. I love to have a camera on the back of my phone.
Nice shout out again to 20syl. You turned me onto them a few years ago for one of the iPhone videos and now they’re a staple of my gym playlist.
🤔
This but smaller, with wireless charging and a better camera would be nice, loved the design
In the USA this only works on Tmobile
I probably won't buy this phone, but the cinematography and animations and audio engineering in this video has made watching all of it worthwhile!
Another stellar video, MKBHD! Your attention to detail and high production quality never fail to impress. Your thorough reviews always provide valuable insights and help me make informed tech decisions. Keep up the fantastic work! have an eye on *AWT22W* this is making it this year
where do you find your wallpaper? 3:32
I don't see this as decent review. This is just visual presentation of specs and nice animation.
Review means you start using it and you say the things that people normally can't read from GSMArena and have to discover after few days of usage.
Sorry, but I still don't know anything about stability, about bloatware phone installed on the phone or the one that phone makes me to install during usage. I still don't know how the phone charges up? No proper test of the camera at all. One photo done with 3 cameras as a presentation ? This is a Joke.
Where is the info if there are any problems at all with that phone?
you didnt watch the video did you
he literally said that performance is good and mostly smooth so stabile and it charges with 45w via an cable don't know how else you would have expected for it to charge and has no bloatware
Before Criticizing an review make sure to watch it
That's why I unsubscribed. He no longer does proper reviews nowadays
@@pixels_per_inch his reviews are litterally the same as they always have been with the layout and animations
@@pixels_per_inch his reviews are litterally the same as theyve always been like layout and animations
@@Oxide53115 He used to go deep into the device, how it feels and run day to day, hidden features/Easter eggs. But now it just feels like he's just reading the specs sheets and marketing materials
How did yall play around with the screen without touching the screen
Maybe that’s a screen recording
That’s a screen recording, you can see the screen recording logo in the top right corner
Black magic
The bot/paid comments under this video are insane! What's up with that AW1234shit...?
Bro's goin' through a worst time of his life...
How so?
Day 1 buy for me. Been wanting an android to compliment my 15 pro. Was just waiting for a price point and company that made sense. 350 and a company I respect is all I need.
This phone reminds me of the OnePlus 7t that was also made by Carl when he worked for OnePlus.
Can't believe that was the last phone he worked and I managed to get their last great phone. Atleast the 12 series is finally good
Wtf is AWT22W? What are these people waffling about..
Those people are from Pakistan or Indian
This looks more like a midrange phone than a budget phone.
Because it is.
11:11 don't say cheaper phone, it's affordable.
MacBook Air M3 Review????
Fr
Give Marques some time lol, he needs to test the device out and edit and alll
Its not that important of a review, just see the M2 MacBook Air review, its literally the same device but a different chipset lol.
But yea, I would like to see the review as well 🤣
😂😂
So, Nothing to complain about?
Lol
Who else thinks MKBHD’s intros for the phone are better than their actual ads?
it looks like a concept phone from 2015!
Why tf are there so many bots in this comment section?
if only it wasn't tablet sized
Very unique
My preferences -
1. Fast Processor
2. Big Battery
3. Great speakers
4. OP level camera
5. Plastic Back. Glass breaks
6. Don't care about 90/120 Hz. I always set to 60 Hz.
7. Don't care about bezels. When you can get used to notch, I can get used to bezels.
7. Mid-size screen.
8. Headphone jack
9. Fast Charging (can manage without it too)
10. Stock or close to stock android. No Android.
I have aNothing Phone 1 and love it. It is up there with my Pixel 7 Pro. I love the interface and how everything just works, like my work iPhone.
