If Ciarra loses the role of Esmeralda for the live action Hunchback film to a bigger name celebrity my faith in Disney will lower even further. She knows the role, and clearly has the pipes and acting ability. She was even Elsa on Broadway.
Oh my god, I’m absolutely in love with this Esmerelda, she plays the character perfectly! When the ensemble joined in and started harmonizing, that was legit perfection! This ensemble is incredible and when they joined in, I started sobbing from the pure beauty of it all! 😭💕 I love this musical so much 💕

She's amazing. While I had no problem with her Hawkgirl character, they really underutilized her acting ability. They made her into a love interest on Legends and it was such a waste because the woman very clearly has the acting ability.
I was lucky enough to see the La Jolla production and this song got me misty-eyed. While the lyrics are rooted in Christianity, for obvious reasons, they could apply to other faiths and/or belief in the divine in general. I was raised Christian and am now Wiccan and I believe that the gods, especially the Triple Goddess, look out for the most vulnerable when they're approached for help and that it's our job as humans to do the same. That's what I love so much about Victor Hugo's stories: They're deeply spiritual in ways that everyone can relate to. In fact, they often point out that religion gets in the way of spirituality and genuine connection to the divine, as is seen in the character of Frollo. But I digress. This song is beautiful, this performance is beautiful, and as someone who's loved this story since childhood, getting to see it brought to life before me in a theater was a truly special experience, a night I'll never forget. Bravo and blessed be.
