  • This is my Repair Build of Croup Manor. I used no Mods for this build so everyone can attempt this. There is no commentary as this was my learning Build but I decided I wouldn't scrap it and do it again. You will be able to follow along and copy this build. I built the structure outside of the building and used the Concrete Pillar to Glitch it into place. The build is all holes in the Walls, Floors, Ceilings of the entire existing building. Hope you enjoy. See you all next time

    Simply Brilliant. Just cleared Croup of the ghouls and off to try this for myself. Thanks Chewie!

    Thanks for shooting this. I like that you showed the thought process behind this and not just the blueprint.

    The best video in 2019 for fixing this house vanilla, thank you for this, I would have never thought of doing what you did because I'm so used to the place anywhere mod that I never used the concrete wall glitch and seldomly used the rug glitch. Wish this got more attention, couldn't find any videos like this

    F*cking beautiful! It's so satisfying when I can glitch fix a house! Imma take some notes and recreate this in my game, thanks!

    How is it hat it took me 6 years to find this video? I really like your technique for patching this house, good thing it is built on the same grid system as the barn pieces ^^ (flash back from coastal cottage with it's 1.75 floor width) .
    I remember fixing this but wall by wall then adding an entire 3rd floor (4th floor if you speak USA English) all as a blueprint like you did it felt really satisfying. great job !

    Funny thing is, in-universe, no one would try to salvage a structure like Croup Manor, period. They would tear it down to the foundations, and use the plentiful salvage lying about to make an entirely new structure. Anything a wasterlander could cobble together in its place, could not possibly be any worse than the condition you find Croup Manor in. In reality, a wooden structure like that, sitting on the coast where it is, would have long rotted away, solving all our F4 construction problems on this site. Hopefully, the next generation, iteration of construction is not quite so frustrating as fallouts 4 can be. Taffington Boathouse is almost the same as Croup. Full of gaping holes that are more trouble to try to plug than it is worth.
    Good video.

      I like the challenge they provide. I do agree that realistically they are beyond repair. Can you image the amount of deadly mold in a place like that? Burn it with fire. :)

    I followed the process most of the way through, up to the step where you first put all the wall and floor panels inside the manor. Had no issues placing the doors, extra sets of walls and the roof.

    croup manor is one of the few rebuilds that you can do without prebuilds

    When I went to rebuild my chroup manor, I seriously scraped all the junk stuff lying around and thought, "Well, that's the end of that build." Because I didn't think ANYTHING construction wise was gonna snap or fit.
    So, I literally walked away from this place and headed down the beach, still writing off chroup manor. Then I had a moment of clarity and said... "Let's just see what we can make out of it."
    Went back, brought the build mode, picked the one balcony roof section, and began to lay down flooring to cover the gapping hole.
    Through some trial and error, I cover the roof balcony very nicely. AND, I was able to continue covering the whole 2nd floor. AND I MANAGED A car walk that trace nearly the entire roof top.
    I ran out of materials to finish the build, but it's coming along nicely. Despite that fact, I had low expectations of even making a decent place for settlers. This actually came out better than I planned.

      +Andrew Gordon I always try to rebuild using Vanilla Peices. That way everyone can recreate what I've done. If you want to see one I completely rebuilt and Furnished. Check out my Echo Lake Lumber Full Tour. I used mods to decorate it. But again the repair was done using only Vanilla Peices. I'm glad you liked it. Thanks

    Ok...no mod? USO Integrated IS a mod off the Bethesda website. No mods means using ONLY vanilla building items.

    • @chewiegames82
      @chewiegames82  5 лет назад +1

      You are technically correct. This build was done with USO Integrated installed but the only pieces used are completely Vanilla and from DLCs. The original USO moved vanilla and DLC items into the custom menus as it does in newer versions of the mod.
      So as I’ve already said. You are correct but watching the video you’ll notice that I’m only using the Red Barn walls, doors etc and barn floors and roof sections. Sorry for any confusion

    I am not able to get it to line up properly, I have six settler’s in this settlement does that have something to do with it?

    • @chewiegames82
      @chewiegames82  Год назад +1

      It could possibly have something to do with it. Unfortunately I cannot tell you exactly if it would or not as I built this without any settlers.

    I tried to recreate this but i couldn't stack the walls, do any of you know how to fix it

    • @chewiegames82
      @chewiegames82  3 года назад

      The walls should automatically stack on top of one another. Another way is to :
      place a floor piece on top of the bottom wall.
      Place a wall piece on to of that (making sure it’s in the opposite side of where you want to actually place the wall)
      Place a floor piece on top of that then move the top wall to the opposite side
      It should place without any issues.
      Hopefully this helps you

    Just wow... I guess Im to stupid for that. o_o Way to confusing when you add stuff and then remove it again a minute later. I would prefer a video of the whole process without interruptions.

    • @chewiegames82
      @chewiegames82  4 года назад +1

      The interruptions are more so I can place walls into the right position. This was done on PS4 so o had to make sure everything SNAPPED into place if I was on another platform I may have been able to figure out a way to do it another way.
      Also as you’ll see I basically built this to fill in the gaps in the building I wanted to fix. I sort of worked out a “Blueprint” and made a “DONOR ” building to glitch into place.
      I’m sorry If the guidance was a little confusing but it was honestly the easiest way to complete the look and build as I’d hoped

    It is quite striking just how poor Bethesda's work on this building mechanic was. Honestly, Fallout 4 was a poorly built game in general.
