  • Hello everyone! This video series was created with our customers in mind who have purchased our unprocessed field grown tulips which we sold in 2020. Normally we sell only bulbs which have been dried/separated and processed. During Covid we decided to sell these unprocessed bulbs, straight from our field, to give our customers the experience of what a bulb grower has to do, to get that nice shiny bulb to you in the Fall.
    In this video Keriann and Jeroen are talking about growing tulips from seeds and how new tulip varieties are created. Be sure to like and subscribe for more Wicked Tulip Tips!

    Gee I started my tulip project a little late in life. I will be 75 yrs old when I see my first flower. I find most of my bulbs on old farmsteads. The country around has been farm land for 3 or 4 generations. Lots of old flowers around.

    So do i plant them outdoors or indoors for first 3 yrs and do i leave them planted every winter or leave them out?

      I think you should probably research and find a more knowledgeable tulip grower. From what I've read the seeds and bulbs need to go through the cold season to germinate in order to grow the next year. I've never dug my bulbs up over winter. This guy isn't giving enough information.

    Thanks for sharing.
    Not sure yet if I want to wait for the seeds before I dig up and move the bulbs.
    Atleast now I know they produce seeds.
    Think I wil try and harvest the seeds, future me will probably appreciate I do.

      Every plant doesn't always produce a seed pod. It just sometimes does. I've had for years, and I just got a seed pod on one this year.

    Have afew tulips and 2 flowers went to seed.
    Their not doing so good.
    Should I cut the seed packs off so the bulbs get bigger?
    In North East US.

      @WickedTulipsFlowerFarm  Год назад +1

      Yes cut the seed pods off. Next season it is best to "'dead head" your tulips right after they are done blooming.

    I have a tulip plant that I bought but it died would it regrow eventually or should I throw it away

    • @OldSchoolPrepper
      @OldSchoolPrepper Год назад +1

      Tulips generally grow from a bulb. I would dig into the dirt and see if you have a bulb...if you do it will come back each year. If there is no bulb then it will only regrow if it was pollinated and allowed to go to seed and then those seeds fell into the same pot or the ground your tulip is buried on.

      did you let it dry on the stalk until the petals fell off? if you did and have no seed then it wasn't pollinated.... boo!

      That's how new varieties are made, unless there is a sport happening. A sport is sudden change in the appear ane of the flower, or leaves, very rare both at the same time.

      You are quite foolish, there are no rainbow flowers you can grow, those images you see are digitally manipulated. You fell for a well known scam, I hope you take it as a learning experience and do not waste money in the future.
