To get rid of the light and bypass the security >>> Cut the yellow wire > Measure the resistance between Yellow and the Orange wire > Buy a resistor of that same value > Solder the resistor in between yellow and orange wire. The system will think the correct key is in and no more security light or problems. >>>You can also buy Passlock bypass kits that are easy to install.

Did the passlock by-pass, security light stays on, still wouldn't start. Pulled the distributor cap off, it looked worn, replaced that and rotor, car ran two days, now not running again. Getting ready to pull the new distributor cap and spray with elec cleaner. Did the Passlock by-pass in such a way I can roll it back to original, not sure I will. I'll keep you posted. btw, checked fuel pressure, it's good.
If you don't mind the security light being on, you don't have to cut, splice ar connect anything. Start the truck up and while the truck is running, pull the three wire connector out of the passlock sensor. The body control module will see an in-service failure and set a code but will allow the truck to run and restart from then on. It will store a code but will allow the truck to start. Just don't ever clear the code. If you clear the code then the module reverts back to it's normal state and needs to see the passlock sensor to start,
holding my breath but did on a '98 GMC savana van today. Edit: I see some discussion of the security light remaining on after this fix is implemented. The behavior of my vehicle HAS changed, is it normal for the security light to come on while im driving randomly after the fix, but be off every time i go to start the car? This is new behavior, and since the light isnt on when im starting the vehicle, I'm inclined to believe im in a much better place than i was before with regard to this security issue, but I'd love to hear if others see this post fix as well.
I connected the Yellow to the Orange and the 1999 GMC Suburban C1500 5.7L turned over...consistently with the light chug on the front of the turns. I feel the P1626 continues impeding the start cycle by cutting off the power to the spark plug. I may be pulling the Passlock out for circuit board review.
Did you check if you were getting fuel and the fuel relay was working for the fuel pump and did you look up the code P1626 and see what the code was Because i think The PassLock is For The Fuel Pump Relay and if it Start Right Up and Turns Right Off !! The PassLock Would Be it !!But i Would Look Up The Code !!P1626
OK, it did work but I had to just be patient resetting the computer.(turn key to on position, wait 11 min. till security light goes out and then turn of for 10 sec., repeat till security light is solid. took two times for me.) Saying fuck alot does help, thanks for help.
All you do is start the truck up as it's running unplug the security box it's like right behind the ashtray after you unplug it while it is running turn the TalkBack off pull the key out put the key back in and start your truck is bypass the whole system

Ever figure out your security light? would a resistor between yellow and your orange/black solve that? otherwise the wiring loom to the left of your steering, run White/yellow to black with a 500-1k matched resistor.

I Was just happy to get it to run Right Because the Truck Has a Python Auto Start On It and That's a Hole Lot Of Thinking About How to Go About Makeing the Auto Start To Work And Trying To Get The Light Off To Will See Maybe When i Get Some Time To See How To Get The Light Off !!
The light is on because the BCM wants to see a resistance value in that circuit. If it sees not resistance, it thinks that the resistor is open and turns the light on to let the driver know that there is an issue with the Passlock system. The reason its starts is because it is in a default mode which allows starting of the vehicle until the problem is repaired (there is also a code stored in the BCM for this). If the code is erased or the vehicle looses power the BCM will revert back to theft mode and the vehicle will not start (same issue that led you to this repair).

I just did it on a 2001 Astro van and it worked incredibly well. But I did put a 3.4k ohm resistor between the cut Yellow wire heading under the dash and the orange wire with black tracer. I did not have to do the Relearn either, it just worked
i hv a 95 suburban i bought from a guy who lost his keys so he tried to hot wire it so i replaced tha column an now all it does is click i changed tha starter bt still tha same thing so do u think its a security issue do u think this will work
Sean Murray i would say that did you see if the engine turns by hand ? when i had a security issue its was because i lost the key bob and then my battery was dead and when i put a new battery in it i had the security issue but it would start and then it would turn off ! it would start and stop right a way that's how i found out it was a security issue !! did you check the stater relay ? in the fuse Box Under the Hood ? i would check that !
yea i tried it with my hand tha motor turns the guy i bought it from said when he hot wired it it would start then turn right off an he did say to either get the security system removed properly or get the computer swiped i just dont kno what to do any more this is i dont see a security light on at all this is really geting frustrating i tried to look those other guys that helped you out on youtube but cant find them
Do you know if it has a chip key and if so its a Passlock 1 system and not a passlock 2 But did you check the stater wire if it has power to it and did you cross out the stater to see if it would crank ?
2.2k resistor works fine..once connected leave the key on the ignition position for about 10 minutes it should automatically detect the resistance code and work

No it should not have done anything with the cam sensor ! The only thing that it does is by pass the Pass Lock Security Part ! Your Cam Sensor was getting Bad I Would Say Just Because Your Check Engine Light was not on after you fixed it and it Ran Right ?

Take off your positive cable and turn on your headlights for 10 minutes it will drain down the kam which is a keep alive memory in your computer then you can hook it back up and it should be fine

My Yukon Did The Same Thing and My Rotor Was Bad and The Cap Look Good But It Was Not Good

an this truck doesnt have a starter relay i looked everywhere an cant find it google says it dont have 1 either
