1. Why do I add pepper to container Damascus steel.
2. What do I sprinkle? Flux and its composition.
3. How do I remove the container from the workpiece (container Damascus steel).
4. Why am I drilling a hole in a container.
5. Why do I sweep away the dross from the anvil with my hand.
6. Why do I first forge some blanks on a tree.
7. In what and why do I soak the blank before forging.
8. In which granules do I place the workpiece after forging.
9. What kind of white powder do I pour into the container.
10. In what liquid do I develop the pattern on the blade.

Happiness is a new Shurap video.
This made me chuckle, because the billet at the start looked so happy.
I agree.... let's us all know he is still ok.
Love watching your videos. You never cease to amaze!!
💯
There's always at least two happy points in his videos.... The reveal of the pattern and another pot of weird tea 😁... Sometimes I'm not sure which one I look forward to more 🤔😅
No one talking about the smiley face in the billet?
Thank you for making my day with a smile :)
That's his specialty.)
I suspect it is also useful as a guide to orientation of the billet
this is what it takes to make your day??. man i need therapy
the smile is always on the billet

I cant believe i missed this one. Absolutely amazing. I love how you made the shape look like a straight razor, since it was made out of razors. Also, one of the coolest patterns. Great work bud. Hope all is well with you
The smiley face on the cannister was a nice touch. 🙂
Also, I find the tea almost as interesting as the knife making.
He doesnt sell knives on his english store, so it looks like the forge is a front for a tea syndicate
If you look carefully, he always puts a smiley face on his canisters. I've been wondering if it was my imagination, but this one is very easy to see.
The amount of patience that must’ve been required to unwrap all of those blades without cutting yourself is crazy.
I agree. That smiley face was pure art!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Come for the knives, stay for the tea. 😊
No talk, no fancy effects... just forging. This is how things should be, simply beautiful.
??? 😂😂😂😂 of course I meant the feedbacks from the community, not MINE... dude, had a bad day? Nervous much? I've always appreciated the balanced and pondered discussions on this channel. You can trust me when I tell you there's no need for hostility.
No talk , no fancy effects and a touch of black pepper, exactly how i like em
Some narration would be nice. ASMR gets annoying quickly.
@@jd9119 maybe... but you know, the fire, the glowing metal, all the sounds like the grinding or the water boiling in that pot, for those amazing teas... It would, to my way of enjoying Dmitry's videos, take away some of that magic atmosphere ;)

As a metallurgist i see how steel is heat treated, quenched in oil to harden the tip of the blade and then annealed to remove some of the brittleness. What is amazing is how it is the right shape. Must take years to learn.
What is he adding to the metal. Some white and black powder?
@@farukakturk5388 That would be iron powder, don't know the exact composition, it is to fill out the gaps and makes the lighter shades in the final result. The pepper and chili serves as carbon additives, removing the oxigen and supplies additional carbon for the decarbonization during the high heating.
@@farukakturk5388 Looks like black pepper corns and salt.
I guess salt and pepper make everything better.
@@sterby1its called flux its used to help it stick together without splitting
I am absolutely amazed. The straight razor is a work of art a thing of beauty. I always wanted a custom-made knife 🔪 I collected knives all my life. But I never knew anyone who could make me one. Beautiful work my friend 👏
I am impressed by the quality and dedication of your de-safetying of this razor.

I love the straight razor style shape for this project. It’s very fitting and wonderfully sleek. Your work is as astounding as ever! It’s an honor to be able to see a master of damascus at work.
When I saw the shape my first thought was, "Yo dawg, I heard you like razors, so I made you razor made out of razors."
@@erinfinn2273 Ah, an old meme but a good one. Very nice. :)
And it looks sharp as a razor, as well...
It's pretty thin. Are we sure it's not a razor?

I love this guy's work and his sense of humor! 👍
Thank you for sharing. Stay safe.
I laughed so hard when the billet had a smile.
That was funneeeee
Most of his billets typically do. It’s great.
What an awesome project/piece! That pattern is nothing like I was expecting! Thanks again for sharing some of your skills with us!
Found this channel, watched this video, made my afternoon. Amazing job, such a professional handcrafting!
My Shurap tee arrived today. Nice quality, looks cool. 👍 Keep up the great work, Dmitry.
another masterpiece, happy to see you are safe and able to practice your art
Fantastic work. I'm glad you are still able to make content given what is going on in your country right now. Be safe and take care. Thank you for what you do.
Even the drink fits perfectly XD. What a great video. Congrats!
I love it when someone is so skillful at a craft did they make something that takes years and years of practice and just makes it look so easy.
You're right. I feel the same way.
As always some of the highest quality work to come out this week. Stay safe.
It never gets old watching the forge scale flake off - don't know why but that's always fascinated me.
The skill and craftsmanship are top quality as always. Very nice blade. Wish you and your family all the best, love from your brothers and sisters in Scotland
My great respect on you🤜🤛
You make this so good

That is a gorgeous Damascus pattern! Top work!
I like a craftsman with a sense of humour and a smiley face in hot metal. I love it.
Another masterpiece from a master bladesmith!!! Love your work & would love to own a piece of your work one day
I haven't commented in a while ,and pray for you and your family in my prayers. Thank you again for all your hard work to make videos for us to enjoy.. your creativity and craftsmanship are unique in what you display. Thank you once again.
Wow that one turned out so beautiful! Man I would love to buy one of your blades!!!
Excellent job thank You for the video 😊
I always enjoy seeing the transformation that takes place in your projects.
You always make it look easy making Damascus. Even in a simple straight billet you create the illusion of a void. You turn iron into steel - and that into an artform. Always looking forward to your next creation. May conflict end, and peace return; and may you and your family remain safe.
Gorgeous ! and the tea was damned amazing as well.
THAT MIGHT BE MY FAVORITE BLADE YOU HAVE EVER FORGED. W O W.
You never cease to amaze me!! You didn't slice your fingers on all those razors. Oh, and the knife was pretty nice too. ;)
ofcourse not, he is a metal whisperer!
Outstanding blade. Excellent video. You have been an inspiration in my knife making journey. Stay safe out there. I hope you and your family are doing well.
Nice smiley face weld there at the beginning lol looked through the comments for the one about it but I guess I’ll add that myself :)
Is anyone see the smiling face at the first when it's gonna put on the press machine?
I see it
Yes
Great video, and even better knife, I hope you and your family are safe. And peace will find you guys soon.
Incredible! Your work never ceases to amaze.
I hope you and your beloved are safe. Love these videos, you're artist!
Ive been waiting for this one
Awesome work Dmitry!!! As always.
Stay safe!
It's amazing how you can make a blade out of basically anything 🙂. Keep up the great work and stay safe.
In the beginning I thought "I hope he makes a large straight razor". Very beautiful work.
I wish all the best for you and your country. I hope things will improve soon.
It is crazy how much swirling and spirals you got without even twisting! Every time I see Damascus steel I remember to pray for you and your country. Stay strong.
Always happy to see another Shurap video 👍
This shows the skill they had 🔙 in the days that everything was made by hand an technique
7:30 Wait a second. I have a feeling I've seen that device somewhere else 🤔🤫
😹😹😹😹
My Mrs brought something similar, I don't think she's making knifes tho she seems too happy all the time...
What excellent work! Clean, professionally done! One of the best jobs I’ve seen on video.
It's nice to finally catch one of these so early, you've really inspired me to get into knife making and I hope to have a set up by the end of this year, best wishes.
I don’t know where you are in your journey, but don’t be afraid to start simple. You can finish an entire knife with an angle grinder and a torch, which is how I started. I have made several canisters of Damascus by hand and hope to get the press and power hammer soon.
Шикарная работа!!!!Мастер молодец!!!
Beautiful razor sharp knife. 👌
To see such art and craftmanship is truly a gift. Especially from a person in such a dire situation, stay safe sir.
Remember that the Lord Jesus Christ died on a cross for you because He loves you so much. He then rose up from the dead three days later
The Ten Commandments are called the moral law, (most of us are lying thieving blasphemous adulterer at heart and deserve hell) you and I broke the law, Jesus paid the fine. That’s what happened on that cross.
By believing that Jesus died on the cross and rose up from the dead 3 days later and not just confessing your sin, but also repenting of all sin you have done and putting all your trust in Him in prayer, He will grant you everlasting life as a free Gift.

I always enjoy the smiley face you weld in the canister
Always a nice piece of work! Always nice to see you working! Thanks I hope you stay save!👍🏻
I love the smiley face from the welds that you could see the first time you pulled it out of the forge!
He got 88K likes just for unwrapping that many razor blades.
Yes he did
magnific piece broo keep up the good work!!!!!
Glad to know you're doing good, thank you for the wonderful video. Your work is amazing.
I never thought anyone could make Damascus steel from double-edged razor blades! It's amazing.
Then what is it?
@@coolusrname A piece of forged steel that has been etched.
They still haven’t 😂
Well, you can't. Damascus steel is a type of material, not a method of processing. The fact that the appearance is similar does not make this work of Damascus steel. Although, of course, I'm impressed, the author did a great job.
@@SzejskiHe forged Damascus, this is both the appearance and the method of manufacture / material / package of steels, etc.
In Turkey, sometimes in Syria, Damascus was a maximum of 40 layers, as I remember. It was the Syrian blacksmiths who did it there.
I would love to see this same design done again with the razors but add ball bearings and a twist I think that would look amazing
That's a beautiful blade. Beautiful
Jednak doczekałem się noża z żyletek i nie kazałeś mi na to długo czekać :):) Pięknie wyszło Jak zawsze ;)
You always do beautiful work. I don’t know what it’s really like over there but I wish the very best for you and your family, and keep making those beautiful knives.
*Thank you for a very good video. Valuable leason learned!* 👍❤😊
I love how consistent the welds always are. Not always pretty, but there's something satisfying about watching someone who understands the machine they work with.
New video!! Thank you….I absolutely love your content. ☮️❤️🇨🇦🇺🇦
Your work is always astonishing, we are all fortunate to see a true master at work in their craft. God bless, and protect you, and your family, and I pray for peace over there.
Que pasó aquí? Vi el tamaño de las hojas en un principio y cada vez que lo metía a la fragua se hacía más grande, casi sale una espada samurai
Also well done for opening that many razor blade packs without cutting yourself!
Beautiful work!
What a fascinating piece, turned out way differently than I’d imagined it would and it’s gorgeous. Have you ever done any videos with handles as well as the blade? Your artistry and attention to detail makes me wonder what you could do with different handle materials and I’d love to see some finished knives. Or maybe find somebody to collaborate with and have them make the handles? Idk, I’d just love to see a finished blade of your making sometime. :). Amazing work as always!
Дякую за відео! За роботою Майстра так приємно дивитись. Натхнення та здоров'я Майстру та його родині! Мирного неба нам усім!
Absolutely beautiful blade.
smiley face appearing when white hot was a nice touch!
Hello sir, glad to see you are well. Very much enjoyed the tanto style blade. Always impressed on what you use to make a billet. We think of you and your struggle often. Thank you Dmitry.

Wow! Wonderful jobs! I like it. What a amazing working tools.
Outstanding work, brother! I've long since stopped guessing what the end product will look like, based on the material; your skill is incredible and I know that I'll be entertained along the way. I'm glad you and your family are safe for the time being. Sending love from middle of nowhere America.
stunning work
The spice get me every time
Judging by the randomness of the pattern I assume that this blade should be very very durable and sharp. Noticed that smiley face too. And I admire how you were able to dismantle the “envelope” and that the blades didn’t stuck on it. There are so many little tricks and metallurgy knowledge in your videos that I can only say hat off.
Awesome work. Georgeous blade😍
The smiley face gets me every time.
I can imagine the most nerve-racking part is the unpacking of all these single razorblades
That blade is so sick I want one great work
Well done sir!
Hands down best RUclips Channel on the internet. The cut away segment to the tea is crucial for a clean palette of the mind.

Nice work!
I one watched a man in Turkey making Damascus steel from used horse shoe nails with a Hibachi! One nail at a time!
Keep up the Fire! Respect from Roscoe Texas.
I find the process kind of fascinating. It seems like so many unnecessary steps, but everything is doing a different, though equally important job. What those jobs are, I don't know, as I'm basically clueless when it comes to smithing, but the process looks highly rewarding.
it's chemistry
Could be written by me^^
Since i started watching Forge&Fire im fascinating what people can do with some old steel pieces..
And honestly i would Love to try it by myself, Although i know i would fail so Bad 😅 But i cant afford all the Equipment for something i never did before..
@@spraypainter2879 You don't need state of the art equipment to get started in blacksmithing.
If you look up beginner home forge setups you can attempt to make your own blade for a hundred or so dollars.
