I want to recommend a channel about making armor. The armor makes medieval defense for museum exhibits, paintings and archaeological finds. I recommend watching a video about making a tournament knight's helmet. / @armorysmithworkshop
On my patreon page, I began to explain the processes and secrets of my work. Topics already covered:
1. Why do I add pepper to container Damascus steel.
2. What do I sprinkle? Flux and its composition.
3. How do I remove the container from the workpiece (container Damascus steel).
4. Why am I drilling a hole in a container.
5. Why do I sweep away the dross from the anvil with my hand.
6. Why do I first forge some blanks on a tree.
7. In what and why do I soak the blank before forging.
8. In which granules do I place the workpiece after forging.
9. What kind of white powder do I pour into the container.

I love watching someone like yourself, who pays such attention to detail work. Just the time you took to forge weld all those pieces together was brilliant! The final product was absolutely beautiful! Thank you.
Not just a craftsman, but a true artist. Very well done sir.
👏👍👍👍
you sir are a true genius! I am impressed on so many levels by this video! The amount of material loss throughout the process is insane! Thanks for putting your skills on display for others to see!
Wow! What a gorgeous pattern. Perfection. Thanks so much for showing how it's done.
Truly incredible work! I would love to see a longer blade with this pattern
That is the most beautiful design I've ever seen, I'm in love with it !! Just the detail in the close up , I could look at it all day lol. Great job 👏
The brewing of the Hibiscus tea from the real flowers is a very nice touch!
That answered a question of what. Thanks
I just want to say I appreciate how often you clean your anvil.
Absolutely gorgeous craftsmanship. A fitting name for this pattern, I can see the flowers and the river! Beautifully done, bravo!

Flowers on the river bank...that's how it is in russian.Though the guy is from Ukraine,
Such a wonderful pattern that came through from the amazing work you did to produce it, will last decades more now you have breathed new life into it.. Well Done !

One day I hope to have a good enough idea and reason to commission a piece like this from an artisan so talented. Metalworking practices like this should be encouraged and supported to keep the beauty alive for generations.
How can a process so violent and aggressive be so relaxing and soothing. Knowing what it takes to shape, form or just move the metal. By bare hands, the man can’t have much hair on his arms. Nothing but respect. From the USA 🇺🇸
Am I the only one who chuckles at how he almost absentmindedly wipes the anvil clean each time he's done? Never underestimate the value of a clean workspace.
Yes. You are.
It's funny to keep your workspace clear?
@@YIAudta.. I never said that.
Normal thing to do, the anvil MUST be clean of slag!
Anvils should be cleaner than a dinner plate
Absolutely love watching your videos, I could watch them all day long. Great job.
every video i keep thinking "this is my new favorite" they are all wonderful!
It is incredible how you know how to do all those steps to achieve the result you want, which only really becomes visible in the very last step. You are truly an artist.
That armor smith channel is excellent by the way!
This is a work of art! Stunningly beautiful! Organic!
Fantastic work, as always, @shurap! I love your damascus work!
I can't express in any words how amazing this is... absolutely outstanding!!!!
This man was born of Fire and Iron! Respect ♥
ZEWS !
Incredible! Your mastery of the process is absolute.
Another beautiful work of art, Sir! Love them, keep them coming.
Astonishing! Thank you for sharing your skills with us.
Beautiful grain pattern to that steel, intricate and uniform. I really dig the work that went into it. Very, very nice.
I love that magnetic grinding table. Absolutely beautiful knife.
Always such beautiful work, I have watched all your videos and know how well you craft but I am always surprised to see the end result with a new blade.
This guy went and made a flippin landscape with Damascus. Bravo friend!
This is like the 4th or 10th time I've watched this... What a BEAUTIFUL blade! "Artisan" doesn't even do you justice Dmitry!
Yeah!!! New video!! Greatings from Spain, master!! 😊👍
Very nice work! Have watched several of your videos, always appreciate your work. This is one of your best videos, very nice with the effects. Thank you and keep up the great work.
Once again I'm in awe of your craftsmanship 🙌🙏
Would have loved to see the handle on it and it cut through something. Love the craftsmanship.
What an immense amount of work. But it's worth it. Looks beautifull. 👌🏻
Your work is constantly incredible, but this one really blew me away 🤯
I truly appreciate being able to watch the hands of a craftsman at work. So many videos available are just about "Look what I made" instead of "Watch how I made it." I learned several new techniques in just this one video. Thank you for sharing your skill with the rest of us! Craftsmen like you help to make the rest of us better by teaching us what you know.

Uauuu that knife is the prettiest knife I’ve ever seen! Congratulations for the stunning work
Hands down you're the best bladesmith on RUclips.
you right.
Trekkie_Monster you should check out Alec Steele sometime. He’s pretty good too.
@@joshuashanahan4359 no... That guy talks way too much and is so full of himself. "alec steele" is trying to have a "Forged in Fire" rip off reality show. Where "shurap" just shows us the skill and beauty of his work.
second time I've watched this in a couple months. Totally enthralled by the process. Thanks~
Same here. Unlike most content creators, and partly because of the lack of commentary, the replay value is infinite.
I'll probably watch this one a few more times over the years, just to enjoy his absolute mastery of the craft, and the outcome. The final shots for this one really are spectacular!
I can’t believe the satisfaction watching these videos. I love smitty work.
Just found your channel. You do absolutely incredible work. How you create those patterns is something I have never seen before. Thank you for sharing
this is absolutely incredible - phantastic work !!
Love your work !!! Beautiful. Thank you for sharing your talents😃
I've been selling Abrasives for over forty years and I think you've figured out what the correct Surface Feet Per Minute can do to get the best performance out of that belt. Spectacular metal removal Sir..! 😳👍
Parabéns Dmitry!
Excelente trabalho.
Wow, the time and patience you must have to do this. I am fascinated watching you, I was channel hoping one night and saw an episode of forged in fire, now I'm hooked watching people making knifes, but not the ones with ready made steel, it takes a lot of finesse and your knives are amazing. Sorry for gushing on a bit 😂
That is just beautifully crafted. There is little left to say. Expert level skills.
Master Craftsman, unbelievable work Dimitri❤
I'm not even halfway through the video and I can already tell this is going to be my new favorite...
That is very impressive! art on steel! Cheers from Brazil!
Damn Dimitri they only just keep getting better...
But I guess that's kind of the point of life.
Thanks again.
Wow, beautiful work of art and function! Excellente!
Beautifully done!
You are a true craftsman and artist
The single best cable Damascus I've ever seen, very nice
Some of my favorite things in life knives, forging, and hibiscus.
Never had hibiscus tea. What's it taste like? Is it anything like dandelion?
@@SkunkApe407 it's pretty common all over the world with different names depending on the culture like Roselle or Flor de Jamaica... etc. It's pretty interesting, sour, usually sweetened, served cold, icy or hot depending on preference. Sometimes extra flavors are added... etc. It has the medicinal benefit of reducing high blood pressure. Try it it's good. Cheers en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hibiscus_tea
I love how you stopped and made tea. Tea is very important, and I'm saying that with zero sarcasm. That tea looked amazing.
Dude that was probably an ad for his merch cups.. although flower-themed, that was a nice touch.
@@andyhug90 I could do without the cups. I have nicer cups.
@@DeadGlassEyes how dare you..
That was like tea concentrate! I see where your superpowers come from. Where do you get your tea?
@@marklind6926 that's hibiscus tea made from Rosella
How can so many dislike any of this mans work!
It’s an art and he’s an artist
Why would anyone give a thumbs down to a brilliantly creative process🤔?
Because of sickness, World is changing for a silent demolition.
Because they're ignorant and jealous..I think!
Those are the people that think their ginsu knives bought at Walmart are great knives. They dont know what their missing.
Absolutely amazing work and genius creation. You have a very gifted mind Dmitry and I am always excited to see your new videos.
Wow! What a Craftsman! Everything with the bear Hand's! Respect for You Sir!
A true craftsman, and a pleasure to watch.
Quality workmanship. simple design that looks functional
At :39 the way you tapped the cable and brushed it off reminded me of Benny Hill. It made me laugh. Lol
Im a plumber and consider myself a damn good craftsman and have a hard trade but my hat is off to you this is such hard work and you make functional artwork
After going through a fairly long process, finally producing an extraordinary work
Wow. Awesome work. You painted art using fire , hammers and steel. Wow.
You are undoubtedly the best weapons craftsman. You’re indeed an artist. After your life here on planet Earth, Gods will call upon you to make their swords and the sorts for them.
Love your workshop. I'm a Boilermaker in Australia. And your skills and knives too.
The Tea Making intermission was an eccentric and genius idea! nd my God what a beautiful finish pattern on that blade! Damn brother, such craftsmanship!
I feel like he is sharing his tea break with us
Great craftsman come from everywhere! Such a beautiful pattern!
Amazing work and dedication but the end result make it all worth it. Sir, you ARE an artiste!
Absolutely incredible work.
Superb work! You are really an artist!
I always get very impressed by the colour of your teas, must taste awesome
That's just amazing...what a beautiful knife, and those skills
Like a painting in the steel; here's where craftsmanship becomes an art.
Beautiful blade you crafted there. Awesome work.
My favorite Hibiscus drink is for those hot days when you really need something to put some life back into you. Use fresh brewed tea, sweetened to taste with white grape juice, then poured over crushed ice with some muddled fresh mint. It will change your frame of mind.
Nice knife. :)
@@wildstallion2.048 There are many distributors for dried hibiscus flowers sold as tea. Find the best, most trusted source you can afford. We used to have a local vendor here in Austin that would sell fresh brewed at festivals and also sold the flowers in bulk for you to take home. That's where I learned the white grape juice and mint trick.
From the name of the video, I couldn’t imagine what the final outcome would be...then it hit me all at once when it was done.
I happened to see one of you're videos & became hooked (valerian steel & then knives). It's an art & you do it so brilliantly.
Pete had a wonderful life w/ you. You were a good pair. I've lost 5 Jack Russells and it doesn't ever get ok. One day you can get another Friend like Pete.
Beautiful knife. Masterful knife making!
I'd personally would love to see them finished at the end of vid.
Killer work
The amount of care and skill it takes to set a good weld in cable is very impressive.
