That is one beauiful knife! One of the best damascus designs I've ever seen! I also love how beautiful and simple the handle is. It blends perfectly as it doesn't take any attention away from the blade, only adding to complete the final look. You've got a great eye for this! The sheath is also a perfect match .

Fantastic work! I've been admiring Damascus steel for probably 50 years in books by men like Bill Moran. I have forged a few knives and horseshoes but never made any damascus. It's only in recent years with videos like yours and Kyle Royer that I've come to believe it's possible for me (on some level.) I think the Mosaic is probably my favorite but I also like the feather pattern a lot. One nitpicky thing: my wife is from Louisiana- where they have a lot of pecan trees and pies. She has made me learn to pronounce it, "pa-CON" rather than "PEE-can" :-) At any rate I appreciate you sharing your fantastic workmanship with us. This is the first time I've even heard of the flag pattern.

This knife is stunning. My brother and recently went deer hunting. He was carrying my grandfather’s WWII Ka-bar knife. He shot a deer and gutted it and somehow dropped or just left the knife on the ground. Would you be willing to make a ka-bar in a Damascus style for a good price to go to a couple 20+ year veterans? Howdy! Borax is typically not needed if you have reasonably clean materials, that is, no visible pitting or excessive dirt or grime. Just get it hot enough and you're golden!! Please ask any questions and I will help where I can!

@@philviral the gold would shrink and it would get such a shock from the room temperature blade that it would just not be feasible. Gold melts at a really high temp so it's also just tricky to melt without burning it.

I've watched ever video he put out multiple multiple times to pick up all his different traits he uses. I wish a lot of his older videos were still online they were so much more informative going step by step on every blade, I get why they aren't available anymore though, wouldn't be lucrative to have blade and beginner blade courses for purchase if those were available for free.
