What a great tutorial. Can't decide if I'm going to try the stencil on chip board first or the canvas water color look first.. As always your creativity is incredible and you always make everything look so easy and doable.
Yesterday I bought 5 packets of Gelatos, each pack had I stamp and I paint brush, nothing else that you mentioned in the video. Thank you I found the video very handy and cant wait to try them out.
+ladybutterfly342 Hi, thanks for your feedback! It sounds like you got the 4ct. Gelatos sets. If you're interested in purchasing this kit, you can check with your local crafts store or any Michaels store.
TFS. My husband just surprised me with this kit and I have never used the gelatos. It was a great tutorial as to all the things I can do with them. It is one I will probably watch again to remind me of the techniques. Thanks.
bought this set from Michaels using a coupon. cost me $20 Canadian. Definitely worth the investment. And I love the extras you get with the kit. And watching videos on how to use them gives me lots of ideas on how to use them.
I was able to purchase the same kit for my B-day!! Your tutorial is great and I LOVE the techniques that you show. I had no idea which way to turn when I got my set and you really helped me out!!! TFS!
I love these little tubes of yummy goodness! Thanks for the techniques! Gelatos are one of my favorite art and craft supplies. Must try the gesso over heavy layer of gelato. So creamy and beautiful!
What a great video. Thank you. You inspired me to purchase and give them a try...inspiration for someone who is not artistic....love papercrafting of all types, but this gets me to the next level...going to watch all your videos...thanks again
I just ordered this set as an early birthday present for myself. Can't wait to play with them! :) Does anyone know if the Gelato colours will fade if the art is exposed to daylight or sun?
This tutorial is fantastic! However, I so wish my Michael's store carried more of a variety of kits (not that I could afford them right now) and more Faber Castell products. There is only a tiny section with a few open stock mixed media supplies and if you're lucky enough and know where to look you might find some of the pens. Anyway, I was fortunate enough to afford one of your kits and am hooked! Must have more! LOL Your tutorial was great, and I know it's targeted for the brand, but I'd like to know more about your diecuts and embellishments you used. The flower stamp is gorgeous and I loved the "birds on a wire." Thanks so much for your time!! :-)
Jill, thank you so for this wonderful vid. Your work is wonderful do you have more learning vids that your do or a web sight to learn your a great teacher:) Linda
Hi! Gelatos are great on porous surfaces. You can use them on fabric, however, you should only use them on pieces that will be displayed. We recommend trying a sample piece to make sure you are achieving your desired result.
Thank you for this tutorial. It's great. You said that we can fix the gelatos background with a fixative spray... What spray do you use? Is there a Faber Castell fixative spray?
+Elisa Favari (WhiteStarLight) I have been using inexpensive hair spray like " AQUA NET " . Just make sure it is an aerosol and not a spay pump! I use it for charcoal drawings and mixed media scrapbooks/journals. If you are selling your items I would go with an expensive fixative like " GRUMBACHER " or others on the market. Happy Crafting, Lori ~
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing. I've been searching everywhere for the various swatches including in this kit ([ve already purchased the kit and now, I only want the 5 x 7 swatches). Any suggestions of how i can find and buy these?
Gelatos are permanent when dry so you don't have to set it! It might take a little bit before it's completely dry though (maybe a day or two depending on the humidity).
Gelatos are a water-based pigment so they're different from wax based crayons. The main difference is that you can blend the Gelatos with water for a translucent effect. If you prefer richer colors, you can also use it dry.

Okay, let me retract that last part. I'm a dunce!! I just saw the link in the description. My apologies! Thanks again!
Uh..Michaels has a website.......and coupons. There is also Ebay.
Try JoAnns.com
I'm in a large Canadian city with 7 Michaels stores, and I'm even having trouble finding more than a few of the sets.

Loved this video. I have all the gelatos and use them. Could you tell me what the big bold flower stamp is that you use towards the end of your video?
Love this tutorial. Do Gelatos dry OK on fabric/velvet?
Thank you for the fun ideas. Do these work on fabric or on cotton string?

Thanks so much! The word stamps are from Penny Black available from their online store.

Thank you for sharing.
Loved this techiques
Thanks for the reply but I am in Australia we dont have Michaels
+ladybutterfly342 We recommend checking with your local crafts store or ordering it online at SimonSaysStamp.com.
Try CraftOnLine - that's where I got my kit (I'm in Australia). Cheers.
what would happen if you don´t spray the stamps with water before stamping? aren´t they pigmented enough for a good stamp effect?
Viktoria Papez That would work too! Just make sure you coat the stamps with a nice layer of Gelatos before you stamp.
+DesignMemoryCraft do you export these in Asian countries like Bangladesh? if you don't would you like to ?
I was wondering what brand gesso you were using? It looks like a small tub...
That's one of ours! We just released the gesso a while ago under the Design Memory Craft brand.
DesignMemoryCraft THANK YOU SO MUCH!
How do you clean the India Ink off a stamp? What do you use?
+SuperKaterTot You can just wipe it off with a wet paper towel or baby wipe afterwards:)
I love gelatos but can't find it at a good price. awesome vodeo

Is Gelator the same as crayons?
Gelatos are a water-based pigment so they're different from wax based crayons. The main difference is that you can blend the Gelatos with water for a translucent effect. If you prefer richer colors, you can also use it dry.
Where will I get this kit? :/
Snigdha Jarin Hi Snigdha, where are you located? If you're in the states, this is available at all Michaels stores.
+DesignMemoryCraft hi. is this kit currently available in the UK please?
Mogsy, I don't know if you have since found them but I found this - www.thecraftbarn.co.uk/colour-texture/paints/faber-castell-gelatos.html
