Just went to a rink for the first time and skating in one direction killed the left thigh. So great to have things to do to give leftie a rest! Thank you!
Great video. Im skating for 4 hours tomorrow, although breaks will be taken! Lol! I absolutely have a weaker leg, so will be using these tips . Thankyou.
I book a local hall for 1hrs practice on a sat. But I am also going to our nearest rink tomorrow evening.. It's an hours drive away and a nightmare to get there on public transport, so a real treat!
This is definitely a real struggle for me. I have a 20+ year old knee injury that makes it easy for me to be dominant on one leg. I am going to make an attempt this summer to try to even it out so it’s better. I think for me scissoring more with the other foot forward will help me strengthen that side. Idk if it will ever be as good as my other side but I do want to use it more.
After 7 skate sessions I've discovered the foot I lead with is my weaker side. Like it literally doesn't want to let me turn to the left 😅 I'll definitely be adding some of these to my practice. TY!
I was chatting to a skate friend the other day who hates turning left! I was complaining that I don’t like having my right leg in front for a staggered stance! 😂 we all definitely have a more comfort side.
The dominant side skating is my left leg/side. When I do my exercises at home (ballet warm up) It's my right leg that I balance better on. I've asked different coaches over the years if they could explain this.
By sideways do you mean when you lean on the big toe and little toe to make an edge. It could be you need to loosen your trucks or perhaps change your cushions to a softer type.

That sounds like a great goal. It’s hard when you know you have a weaker side due to injury etc. Be patient with yourself xx 💕⭐️

If your wheels don't really turn sideways is it because they're new or smth?
