  • We picked up a Lincoln 90i FC welder so we could run a flux core machine and our Weld Pack 140 could stay a regular MIG using shielding gas. The 90i is an inverter type welder, which makes it like that weight compared to traditional transformer type welders. It's also a small unit with amperage adjustments from 20 to 120 amps, which will come in handy. There will be upcoming videos of us using this welder and how we think it's doing, but for right now let's get that box cracked open.

I just got one new for $200. I was going to get one from harbor freight, but decided to check my local pawnshop. They had a harbor freight one, but the guy said, if you want one, I have this, new in box, I’ll let you have it for 200 out the door. Needless to say… swipe the card, and a new Lincoln weld pak for around the house. Already used it and fixed a belt guard on my mower deck and saved 40 for a new one of those.

I need to put some serious time on mine. I need to fab up a welding cart, so that should be a decent test.

What kind of review is this? How to turn on the machine? We wanna see the machine working! Is it smooth? Spatter?

Ok. Fair enough. We wanted to put it through it's paces a little more. I think we've only used it for 2 small jobs so far. But so far penetration is excellent, but typical of flux core, plenty of spatter comes with it. Thanks for watching and we'll try to get a follow up out soon.

@@allhailinternalcombustion Thanks. I’m about to buy one, just to fix small things on my car. I’m think about the one with gas and flux core, it’s just $389. I don’t see much reviews about this machine. Waiting on the follow up video. Thanks again

Duty cycle = 20%,=2 minutes out of 10 minutes,,, 60%= 6 minutes out of 10 minutes,,,,,, 100%= all fucken day long or till ya run out of wire 😉👍.
looking to get one of these for thin shit like 18g or less out doors , did you try thin sheet? how did it do? my tig machine will do razor blade's but can't weld out in the open, got these little steel clips (20g) that have to be weld to cattle fencing. ( 3/16 wire, thanks

We haven't used it on anything thin. We have another Lincoln set up with gas that we use on sheet metal. Flux core needs to be ran a little "hotter" so it does it's job, which does not do well for thin stuff. I think they do offer this welder that can take gas, so that might be your best bet.

And I think this unit has a 30% duty cycle.

Everybody is scared to try this welder

I don't see why. It's a great welder so far. Like any flux core machine there is plenty of spatter to be had, but it handles the job well. Jr. has done some exhaust work with it and had good results, and I've made a few brackets and am happy with the outcome. Plus with it being an inverter type of welder it's really light. I'm loving it so far
