Awesome review. Agree 100%. Hardly touch my Sony cameras anymore because the x-t5 is so damn good.

Fujifilm X-T5 is the true upgrade to X-T3. X-T5 is what X-T4 should have been.
I’ve had the X-t5 for awhile now but like you said, I barely used it enough to make a review
stop making these kind of reviews. You make people want to switch from full frame to apsc 😜 just kidding, at least in the first sentence. Great review, down to earth and a nice headwind against the full frame hype. Still not convinced to exchange my a7fours but having quite a lot of Fuji lenses now which my wife uses with her XT4 and I with my XE4 it's probably only a matter of time when I will completely switch.

Purely from a photography perspective i do like the fact that it has photography centric design, that said the video specs, are not really important too me. So as an xt2 and xt30ii user I really don't see a good reason to upgrade aside from the bigger sensor and bigger battery i shoot travel, street and everyday photography and have trouble justifying the price of the xt5 as i rather invest in new glass

So you own an X-T5 and an X-H2, and most likely used the X-H2 for your sports photography?
Do you notice that the X-H2 acquires focus more quickly and reliably than the X-T5?

Been thinking about dropping the money on the xt5, but the 40mp files would surely bog my v30 sd cards down when shooting football.
How do you do zoom in video? Is this in the camera?
I'm still doing everything with my xt3, so I know it's definitely gotten better, yet it's smaller and no grip made me not go for it.

Great video man. What do you think of the build quality? I hear both ways that some people have found it to be a slightly lesser quality than some of their past cameras, but others have said it is the same quality we have come to expect from them. I think the camera looks fantastic though. I need that nostalgic neg in my life
I never noticed anything about the build so it must be just fine. I don’t take too far a look into build quality anymore because the chances of something breaking or falling apart are slim usually unless it’s a Ricoh.

Did you customize a button on the Xt5 for digital zoom?
I agree on nearly every point you've made except one which I might be totally wrong on so please correct me but doesn't the X-T4 have a larger buffer than the 5? I'm not sure where I read that but in my anecdotal experience it seems to be the case.
It doesn't matter to me as I don't shoot sports and am glad that I don't have to shill out for a CF card.
I’ve had bad experiences with the XT4 as I said in the video. The XT5 outperformed it. No lockup. No freezing. No buffer getting stuck. My experience is mine and I reported on that.

Absolutely. The XT3 and XH1 would also work great for that.

It’s your money not your friends. Buy what you can afford. Skill matters more than specs between these two.
@@DeeRosa l will buy extra 50 mm 1 lens and 16-80 f4 lens. I think two of them enough for all works

Hey I do! F Log 2 and I made my own LUTs! I start with the Fuji WDR LUT and then I color my own looks. Add film grain > realistic on FCPX. Then I color to vision3 look in my blue and orange.
honestly, when you think about it,
the X-T4 should have been the X-H2.
Like, the X-H1 was basically an X-T2 with a larger grip, more rugged body and IBIS.
The X-T4 could have had a better designed body, and would have been the same thing compared to the X-T3
and then we'd be right now with X-T5 and X-H3 and everything would make sense, but hey can't be Fujifilm without product names that don't have any sense, right?

Body too small, worse grip - especially with heavier lenses - no cf express cards, worse buffer, no battery grip. No custom settings for completely different use cases possible....

@@DeeRosa Of course I don't. I know it is a great camera, but for now I'm very happy with my X-T3, and I wouldn't even upgrade if Jared Polin said it was OK, so don't flatter your self. My whole point is that you didn't say one single word about "if you need this, or if you need that, this is a great camera" and that is OK, but for someone who's channel is more or less based on ranting about other channels promoting GAS, I just wanted to point it out. I mean, you could have made the exact same video with a few tweaks to under build that point. Now you just lost all credibility in my book. (Sorry if my English isn't that good).
