You say it has 215hp? Not in the US. According to rumors, they will be the SAME as previous years, 190 ( = 174 at the wheel), while being 10 lbs heavier. Flash? Very risky unless it's track only. If I flash a street bike and my insurance company finds out they could refuse to honor agreements due to breach of contract or reduce compensation, which is almost like having no insurance. If I tell them about the flash my insurance rate will be $250+ per month, almost as much as loan payments, but permanently.
Well why would you ever mention flashing the ecu to your insurance anyway? Even if you did have an accident they don't come out and check your ecu to see if it's flashed anyway
Insurance isn't really an issue. The only one that might care about it is the government, and I don't expect them to ever come and verify the tables on my ECU. The US bike is nerfed because of how we do sound/emissions checks compared to other countries. Because this is a limited bike (47 will be sold in the USA this year), Honda opted to just electronically limit the throttle. I suppose it's much cheaper than engineering something else for a bike they're selling so few of. Honestly, I'm fine with this. Eventually someone will crack it (Woolich?) and I'll get the 30hp back with a simple flash. The base model isn't being sold in the USA. At least, not yet. @@chadwoodhouse2924 haha nice. I had the 2015 R1, unfortunately with a blown engine. Even without that, I find the paint to be very thin, engine to be more noisy as compared to Honda bikes. The GSXR1000 or the S1000RR with their grunt laden engines and kinder riding positions will make far better bikes for the road.
@J D I never said it's a pos I'm saying that it's 99% for the track whereas the other bikes I mentioned make much more sense as sport bikes for the road. The Honda is far too cramped compared to the other bikes and they have much more midrange power whereas the Honda is all top end power. My 2010 fireblade will be much better for the road.

@@chadwoodhouse2924 I'll agree it should have both at that price point, but I'm still taking delivery in September. I'll be the only one with one in my state, so I just see it as an exclusivity tax in the US. Will be upgrading those brake lines...
@@chadwoodhouse2924 having owned multiple bikes from different brands, I must say the Yamaha built quality is far from Honda. Yamaha tend to make stuff look very good on paper.
Honda bikes is very well built and feels very refined. Engine and clutch are very very refined and good compared to Yamaha, where after a few thousand km, start to make funny noises and rattles.
@@chadwoodhouse2924 haha nice. I had the 2015 R1, unfortunately with a blown engine. Even without that, I find the paint to be very thin, engine to be more noisy as compared to Honda bikes. Clutch is relatively grabby as well. This is subjective and can differ in opinion from person to person.
I currently ride the 2017 S1000RR, I think it's a much more refined bike mechanically for sure, closer to the fireblade.
It's an absolute rip off! £20K! No quickshifter/blipper! No electronic suspension! No Brembo brakes! No V4! No VVT! Gutless peaky engine be a nightmare on the road! Far too extreme focused riding position for midgets! The only thing I like is the looks! Would imagine it'll be great on track but absolute garbage on the road! Sorry Honda but I'm out!👎
@J D I clearly must like this kind of motorcycle as I have 3 sportbikes. But I've sat on this new fireblade and it's so focused its only for track use and it has a very peaky engine only really any good on the track.
They are jerks for this bike. I'd be scared to ride this on the street. I'd be paranoid of nicks and scrapes etc from everyday riding... While heavily losing appreciation... No blipper or QS is literally the most fucked up thing I've ever seen
Mr Prosser just laid out all the things Suzuki came to the market with, in...2017.
@@moorepower13 I think when it comes to riding on the road and not to mention cost that the Suzuki is a far better bike👍
Damnnnnnn😲❤
Didn't make me want to buy one.
Call it Triple R for more simple
Oh no! Honda tried some kind of motoGP nose wings on that! Please, don't do this, please.
GSXR1000R and a pile of cash left over please 👍
still the blade is much better
@@seb46honda93 not for twice the price it's not
