This whole time I thought that the game designed it to be impossible to save everyone in time. I was so sad cause get way too attached to NPCs and was so sad that I had to seemingly chose between Adan and Minaeve because I really liked them both. Thanks for this guide, next time I'll save everyone!
Just a couple of things: you don't need to go up the ladder and through the roof to save Segritt, just break down the door (if you're a mage, just use a warrior companion to do it for you). Also, after saving Flissa rather than run back out the door you came through you can run past Flissa and out the opening just behind her, this leads you straight to the stairs to rescue Minaeve and Adan. Saves a few precious seconds. :)
Thank you. I watched a 30 minute walk-through video made by someone else here on RUclips that showed everything but this, and this is all I needed to know.
Thank you so much for making this! You were very specific in your explanations about what to do in order to save everyone, unlike other videos I've seen! So, again, thank you.
Thank you for the video! I love rescue missions. Anyone else kinda disappointed when you get to Skyhold all of them were still replaced for lousy reasons? Except the blacksmith. I liked most haven counterparts a lot better. It seems some even were replaced for shady reasons, kinda painful and dirty. Some got sent into the field. Eh after such traumatic experience? If the injuries or the experience was the reason they were replaced I would have liked it better. Now it seems you rescue them only for some to get an unfair treatment. I know, I know I make a big out of this lol.
I'm so excited to rescue everyone later today. I heard it could be done I just didnt know how. Going into the battle with a little more confidence now.
@MyReligionIs2DoGood for some reason I can't reply to your comment. Actually In Your Heart Shall Burn has everything with being able to save the inhabitants of Haven. If you don't trigger the mission you don't get to this ... It happens during the mission In Your Heart Shall Burn.
i'm playing a rogue and I kid you not, after rescuing Flissa, I HAD to use Evade in order to get to Adan and Minaeve and rescue them in time - even though I run past Flissa like some other commenter recommended, instead of getting back out the door I got there. I have NO idea how I've managed to save them when I was playing a mage.
Old af but if you're a mage on nightmare (like me...) watch out, as the Red Templar Horrors are immune to lightning damage. (Which you're probably dishing out mostly at that point)
I'm playing dalish male elf, rouge archer of course, and he looks so much like your character, correctly wearing same armor, but even his hair and face are similar, they could be brother and sister lol
I’m still on the first guy, harritt.. I’ve been throwing everything I have at the box in the way as a mage.. lol I didn’t think I had to swap characters
Adan and Minnave are the two hardest for me to save because I'm terrible at timing things :( Now that I know the path I should follow, I should be better off..
The evacuation of Haven has nothing to do with the mission 'In Your Heart Shall Burn'. It only gets triggered when you are still in Haven when choosing the mission. Good video, though! :)
8 years later and this video still helps people. 😅 Thank you so much, I was having trouble finding everyone.

Each class has an ability that can destroy barriers to doors. Mindblast, explosive shot, and grappling hook.
I had so much trouble even SEEING Minaeve, thank you!
Thanks! Adan and Minaeve are definitely the hardest two to save. You really gotta be quick :D
Thanks to you I saved them all

I was so psyched by the DA4 news that I decided to 100% DA:I. You saved my bacon here.
I;ve played with 3 different characters and olny rescued half at the most. Thank you for making this clear- I finally rescued them all.
Thanks! I always accidentally triggered Adan and Minaeve's rescues before I could get to them. Super helpful!
