I hate it when composers do this. They play this awesome, one-off song in the game, and then they *don't* include it in the soundtrack, like what the heck?
It's Dragon Age Inquisition, the whole game has been made to deceive people from the beginning to the end, but soundtracks have been made by a Japonese so very high quality
Nothing like Red Templars swarming you while this music plays loudly in your ears. I swear an adrenaline rush captured me as I battled my way through hordes of enemies.
The one problem with this is how much better, challenging, engaging, and horrifying the Red Templar army is compared to the weaksauce human army of Venatori that come if you side with templars. It makes choosing the mages TOO good to pass up, since the red templars with their various unit types and strength keeps you on your toes while the "strategy" for dealing with the Venatori is run/roll/charge past their melee to bum rush their fragile mages before they can cast anything to hurt you.
Not mentioning, your inquisitor was actually sacrificing him or herself to save the refugees in that battle. This sound adds a level of heroic and the "Come at me you bastards I'll take you all down with me!" feeling
Zhao Zhuxuan One thing I heard that actually hit my feels was when Dorian was looking at the trebuchet and said "There's our glorious end all it needs is aiming"

@@L4sz10 Inquisition did this with many of its tavern songs too, especially Samson, Maker, Oh Grey Warden, Once We Were, Empress of Fire, Nightingale's Eyes, and probably many more I can't remember off the top of my head. So it's no surprise that they did the same with In Your Heart Shall Burn despite not actually having a sung version of it. The formula remains the same. It's awesome.
Sweet Creators I cry every time I hear this track. They know they're fighting a hopeless battle, but they refuse to go down without a fight. My Lavellan will ALWAYS say "You expect me to fight, but that's not why I kept you talking. Enjoy your victory; here's your prize!" He knows he's dying to save everyone else, but damn if he's not taking Corypheus with him!
This moment in Inquisition really engaged me. Even more with that soundtrack in the background. I miss something like this in Dragon Age The Veilguard: emotions, an epic feeling. Unfortunately I don't feel any of that so far.
The music in this game is so fucking good! I was ready to quit playing dragon age inqusition, but I decided to complete onr more story mission before quitting. "in your heart shall burn" just so happened to be my "last" mission. This music created an atmosphere of chaos, mayhem, and utter disaster unraveling itself to you after you thoughr you won. It made everything tense, and showed the inquisition what they were up against. It made you realize what's at stake, and gave *you* the player and the inqusitor a sample of the utter madness coriphyus was ready to plunge the world into. In yiur heart shall burn took your first big victory, and turned it into the inqusition's second major blow. Take one step forward, and get knocked back 5 more. This music pumped you up, and made you *want* to fight and defend the people of Haven. If the inquisitor hesitates, everything and everyone will fall to coriphyus' will. The inquisitor has to fight with every once of strength they have, or it will all be taken away, along will the last chance of any form of peace. It's do or die, and it's all put onto the player's shoulders, and *this* kept me going. I'm so glad I didn't stop playing this game, because it only got better from there. I can't praise this mission and what it represents enough, but my 40 page long essay you just read/skipped to the end is damn well trying.
Did this mission yesterday. And holy shit this was amazing. He easily has the best villain intro seen in a game so far. The entire fight, the realization that you can't win and have to watch as your people are getting slaughtered, and realizing the only way to buy them time is to face the threat your self while they flee. Watching him beat down your character like it's nothing. I did this immediately after the amazing red cliff time quest.
Unfortunately, everything after this mission feels like a big filler. There are no real stakes because you cannot lose. What is worse is that Corypheus is probably not even dead because the Inquisition didnt finish him but just teleport him to the fade hoping he dies BUT going to the fade was something Corypheus wanted in the first place SO all in all - everything you did didnt matter like with Hawke.

i'll never forget the sight of corypheus' army marching down the mountain towards Haven. So fucking haunting when you think how hopeless the characters must have felt, outnumbered by far yet they give their all to defend the people under their protection.
God...still remember nervously cranking that trebuchet on Nightmare difficulty, while Cassandra solo tanked that red lyrium monstrosity (the other two were down for the count). Come ooooon stupid trebuchet bar, reach full before he splats my mage!
+jollichan and then after.... a cutscene with which we are asked to beg for our enemy to succeed and become the god this world deserves.....exalt the will that is Him....coming through the fire his majestic shadow only growing bigger.. the tears
This song for me symbolized the true nature of the Inquisitor and why I fall for my character every time.... as a certain captain once said, a true hero is "the one to lay down on the [razer] wire" and let everyone crawl over you. The Inquisitor didn't have any hope of going home... this was The End and it it would have been if naught for the truth of the Hero spoken to their core: "In Your Heart Shall Burn an Unquenchable Flame"
For some reason there's always these random tracks that aren't included in the OST. Arthas' ascension theme wasn't included in the Frozen Throne OST either from what I've heard, go figure.
That swell starting at 3:04 made me feel a desperation I rarely feel in games. I knew Haven was lost, but dammit I was making sure I could save everyone I could. All while giving Corypheus an avalanche sized middle finger
I think starting from this point, where this song plays and ending with the journey, where you see the hold for the first time from the mountains, I consider these a long epic one scene, which I think maybe the most heroic and most touching at the same time in my video game history. Just loved it.
`When everyone comes together to sing "The Dawn will come" was where I nearly burst into tears from the emotion. I forgot the Mother's name but she has some SERIOUSLY wise words.
Headcanon for my first Inquisitor, who was as close to a holy paladin as I could make him: Corypheus: "I have seen the throne of the gods, and it was empty!" Inquisitor: "You think to dispirit me? All I take from your hollow boast is that the Maker deemed you unworthy to see His face!" That Inquisitor heartily agreed with Sera's "A seat needs a butt" argument.
Background NPC omg same. My headcanon is that my Trevelyn warrior is a devout andrastian who sided with the mages bc the time warp magic is more of an existential threat, but then becomes a Templar to rebuild the order (a la Luke Skywalker) and then I make the Templar tower to further train the next generation. He loves Sera though; she’s the kid sister he never had.
Always felt like this music meant "urgency". There are people, trapped and begging you for help. And your time is running short, all the while there is an army storming the gates for your head. Will you make it?
Possibly my favorite set piece in the series, fight behind Ostagar in Origins. Few games have really captured the frantic chaos of a hopeless battle as you race to save who you can while more and more enemies pour in.
To me this tune gives me the feel of a truly devastating battle. From the start it gives off a vibe of danger as if it's the end and for the Inquisitor it almost was. This piece is my favourite of all the Dragon Age themes and by far my favourite part of the games. Didn't quite like it when I couldn't save all the villagers so I had to keep reloading until they were all safe XD
The most epic moment is when you defended Haven in solo. Only you Herald, guardian, inquisitor, whos fight for his friends and his people. Maker bless our inquisitors!
I'm replaying this game and I just did this mission... it still hits just as hard as I remember and I love it. The music especially, the part at 0:39 is such a wonderfully tragic melody that really sets the tone for this epic-but-hopeless battle. It's a crime that this isn't on the OST. Oreochema The DA series as a whole has been great for battle themes that get you pumped and really emotional at the same time. At least, that's been the case for me. I don't actually love a lot of the DAI soundtrack, but this is certainly a standout.
This one and the one that plays in The Descent, when you fight 8 waves of darkspawn consecutively. Also not in the official OST. I believe we can all agree that the truly awesome ones always get cut off in official releases.
During the Mission i thought, "this is the end of the Inquisition" and just wanted to save as many as possible and give the Inquisitor a heroic Death, like e.g. a Grey warden. When i arrived later in skyhold it made my cry.

God knows how many times I tried to kill Knight Capitan Denam before realizing I didn't need to kill the bastard to finish the quest. I ran back to the chantry's entrance and all mobs followed. My team barely killed them, but since Denam is slow AF he was only halfway there by the time I managed this. So I kited him a bit more and ditched him up there lol I went back down and finished twisting the goddamned trebuchet. He is VERY hard to kill on Nightmare and his drops are not even that good. It is not required to kill him to finish this quest, so if you try more than 10 times like I did, just ditch the dude.

This was devastating at first no only when i saw Corypheus than i thought previously died by Hawke was Holy SH*T!!!!!! Them i saw the templars using Red Lyrium i knew Haven was lost the battle was intense that i was sure the Inquisitor was going to die there
This really hits the spot, I can´t understate how much I loved this battle. This music and the despair of the attack... First playthrough I had spent quite alot of time until I stated this mission, thinking it would be somewhat late in the game. Origins was awesome but the second one dissapointed me so my hopes wasn´t that high I guess. Ofc it is just the beginning, but that was not how I thought then. This music is what made the battle so epic, love it, looping many times!
RIP dragon age, solas arc probably is the most anticipated sequel I have waited...10 YEARS and of course they completely blew it. if its even remotely decent im gonna be okay with it.
Kind of shame that most of the sidequests in this game where not as great at this one. By far my favorite in the base game. The only one that went even further is Trespasser. The mage quest with the Tevinter Magister was also pretty good. Please keep this quality througout the next game pls.

Grand Enchanter Fiona. And you don't deal with Venatori, but with rebel mages. If you conscript or make mages your allies then Venatori is still your enemy, lol.
Does anyone else get a Time Crisis 3/Soulcalibur II vibe from this soundtrack? It's giving me serious nostalgic flashbacks to my childhood arcade days.
I came here after finishing Dragon Age Veilguard feeling empty and disappointed with almost every aspect of the game... and one of them being the lack of music that feels as inspiring and epic as this one or the lost elf theme..
Game is severely overrated. The music was probably the only thing I enjoyed about the whole trilogy. The concept of this trilogy is dope but it was very poorly executed and the characters were somewhat bland. Maybe I missed out because I literally hate reading and am fucking lazy.

All these years and still here I'm to listen to this EPIC soundtrack. My favourite in the game.
Even on my third play through. I still get major goose bumps playing this part of the game.

DAI is a game that takes a lot of time to get used to, after the marvelous DA:O but this theme and battle are a treasure.

It was hard at first then I used the beautiful tactical mode where I got Varric to Set the sieges and had the rest buying him time

This was devastating at first no only when i saw Corypheus than i thought previously died by Hawke was Holy SH*T!!!!!! Them i saw the templars using Red Lyrium i knew Haven was lost the battle was intense that i was sure the Inquisitor was going to die there
This really hits the spot, I can´t understate how much I loved this battle. This music and the despair of the attack... First playthrough I had spent quite alot of time until I stated this mission, thinking it would be somewhat late in the game. Origins was awesome but the second one dissapointed me so my hopes wasn´t that high I guess. Ofc it is just the beginning, but that was not how I thought then. This music is what made the battle so epic, love it, looping many times!
Thanks for uploading, love this piece of music. So many of my favourite tunes from the game aren't on the official soundtrack which is a bummer.

Kind of shame that most of the sidequests in this game where not as great at this one. By far my favorite in the base game. The only one that went even further is Trespasser. The mage quest with the Tevinter Magister was also pretty good. Please keep this quality througout the next game pls.

Grand Enchanter Fiona. And you don't deal with Venatori, but with rebel mages. If you conscript or make mages your allies then Venatori is still your enemy, lol.

I came here after finishing Dragon Age Veilguard feeling empty and disappointed with almost every aspect of the game... and one of them being the lack of music that feels as inspiring and epic as this one or the lost elf theme..
Cut out most of the pointless side quests and farming and this game would be nearly 10\10 for me.
Game is severely overrated. The music was probably the only thing I enjoyed about the whole trilogy. The concept of this trilogy is dope but it was very poorly executed and the characters were somewhat bland. Maybe I missed out because I literally hate reading and am fucking lazy.
If only the game was so good as this...
