You would think Neil Peart is doing a crossword puzzle or a word find puzzle, absolutely does not reveal a hint, notion of concentration, or effort, it actually appears effortless. So the band is the same as well, Ged, Alex, this is what makes them the GOAT for Power Anthemic Prog Rock. How deeply fulfilling their music, how meek & mild their personalities are, not even a scintilla of or acknowledgement of their greatness. Just that they enjoy bringing enjoyment to the fans of Rush, for which I'm eternally grateful. My 1st concert is Detroit 1978 I think, tripping on a hit of LSD, oh man what a Rush of Rush that night was. Seen in concert 88 times and in multiple countries throughout Europe, Toronto, & multiple states in the USA. My all time fav. You notice one thing about Neil, he never tries to assert dominance over the band by over-hitting, he's entirely in his comfort zone, and all three are in complete balance. The total integration of three powerhouse musicians as if they are one single being is utterly amazing.
One of my top ten all time favorite bands! 2112 has to be one of my top 10 favorite albums as well! As a fan from the beginning, few can come close to them. AND, they still know how to rock!
Soo glad I got to see Rush in Phoenix back in 1977 just after 2112 came out. The band all sported long hair and Neil's drum kit was 1/3rd the size of the kit in this video. Rush was touring with Golden Earring who failed to show up so Rush did a 2 hour+ set. Google this concert and and check out the set list. It was glorious .
Sucks. I’m 25 now. Got turned into rush by my dad and uncle and have been amazed by Neil every since and was on drum line through highschool bc I enjoyed it. Wish I had a chance to have seen them in concert. Love watching live videos of them. By far the best trio there ever was
@@edgibbons452 it was pretty cool as a teenager in the '70's in Toronto: Goddo (great live and recording 3 piece), Max Webster, Rush April Wine. Cheers
Neil was not only the heartbeat of music. He was every bit a performer as any leading front man or woman. He will always be missed, but will never be forgotten.
2112 has always just been a 40 + year shameless excuse for them to show off. Decades later I still hear it as I did the first time. I friggin' love it! RIP Neil.

There are NOT ENOUGH words to express the "movement" of a RUSH concert. Three guys giving it their all. At the top of their game. Years ago I read an article about tunning down the notes, and it made me strict when it comes to live bands...... But this piece broke me, it was like the Spider-Man meme, I looked at this video with tears in my eyes and said: I forgive you😢😢😢 Since Neil passed away It's always been hard for me to see them on video. I would have loved to see them live😔they are, without a doubt, my favourite band of all time. Still can't process the fact that they will no longer perform. I have no clue as to why the drums don't burst into flames, for that matter Alex's guitar. My best wishes to Neil's family, the world has lost a great role model, drummer, and composer. R.I.P Neil
Smells like old times yheaaaaaaaaaaa This was one of the first songs I heard from them. Instant luuuuv. I still remember the first time. It was like losing virginity. Aaahhhh the good old days. Rush are one of the few bands of that era I still listen to.
Steve Taylor How come you don't listen to many bands from that era anymore?
TheCiscoKid2112 just got tired of same ol stuff over and over. Lot of the bands of the era sound alike play alike so I've expanded what I listen to over the years. I still listen to some of the old bands but just a few,I could never stop listening to Zeppelin , even my kids love Beatles and Zeppelin . Oh and RUSH
Thanks for the post bro, keep ROCKIN After I finished reply I had to finish listening to this vid, thanks for an excuse.
As a musician it was very hard to really take Neil Pearts passing. As a 61 YO I have lost a LOT of family and friends over the years but this was so unexpected. He was such a huge talent and a nice guy
Very meek and borderline introverted but the best drummer in the world... great book that he wrote called "Ghost Rider" was about his wife and daughter killed in a car crash in 1999. He rode his motorcycle for eighteen months all over Canada and the USA
@@stevengoetz5294 he put out a few table top books from his motorcycle rides. (he rode bmw bikes and was often featured in various related bmw publications.)
if rush released an album of them just having a jam sesh in a studio i still reckon itll be gold
dont even remember how many times ive seen them so many and everyone was priceless!! watched this in awe of the timing and neil its also one the most classic solos of all time i have never stopped playing this arrangement in all my years
Was at this show.Seen Rush more times than I can count..The distortion on that guitar..Awesome.
Neil wherever you may be I know your kicking ass on the drum kit doing what you do best! Thank you for the memories Rush, Neil, Alex, Geddy...
Thank you Thank you Thank you for this masterpiece. One of THE BEST GROUPS EVER!!!! And one of the BEST SONGS E!V!E!R!!!!!! I am humbled by your lyrics, sound and presence!!!!
This is a great version of this song from 2112 and I just recall it from their tour for 2112 having so much more meaning to us all back then too.
What a great tour first saw them in 87 during college this was a. Three hour montage of my favorite songs. Wow
Neil was 60% of Rush for his Lyrics!...All were exceptional Musicians!
RIP Niel. Thanks for the memories😥
It's Neil, Neil Peart
@Shallex you forgot an i😂
So bad ass! One of the best instrumental bands in history! I am glad I had a chance to see them in the 1980s
Seen them a few times at the old Toledo sports arena....blew my mind then and they still do....RIP NEIL
You of seen them in the 70's
saw them in 1977 , Edmonton, Alberta. Kinsmen Field House..2112
Neil Peart is a monster!!! 😍😍😍
All three are
WOW.. I just can't believe Neil is gone. Many Many awesome memories growing up w/ this cranked. Rest in Paradise
RIP Neil. :(
I saw them as a bar band in Scarborough, Ontario, CANADA. It was awesome. They use to play high schools in the area before becoming a world class band
By far the best trio there ever was
Got to see them do the whole 2112 album live when it first came out, what a RUSH.
I did also, was early 1977. 2112 Overture is a great song to start a concert with!
truly one of the best rock concerts of all time......and i went to MANY in my 61 years, most before i was 25....
This song makes my soo exiting , glad and so sad at the same time. Beyond that its a marvellous song 💯❤🤘
This gives me a RUSH of nostalgia. Thank you boys.❤
We are the priests of the temple of davos
essa banda realmente só pode ser de outro planeta !!! o melhor do rock .......
Three guys and it sounds like an orchestra 👍🇨🇦
Changed my life. For the better.
@@edgibbons452 it was pretty cool as a teenager in the '70's in Toronto:
Goddo (great live and recording 3 piece), Max Webster, Rush April Wine. Cheers
...and the Meek will inherit the earth...
RIP Professor.
Outstanding performance right there folks...saw them back in the 80s.... ✌👏💯
How exciting is this intro! One of the best ever
Neil was not only the heartbeat of music. He was every bit a performer as any leading front man or woman. He will always be missed, but will never be forgotten.
Thank you neal you tought me so much over the years I will miss you my mentor
2112 has always just been a 40 + year shameless excuse for them to show off. Decades later I still hear it as I did the first time. I friggin' love it! RIP Neil.
My favorite album from Rush as well as my favorite song,KICKS ASS
Never has a 3 pc band filled the air with that much sound. So awesome.
Fabulous, thank you for posting them. Good time for you
You Were The Best Neil!!!!,But Your Music Will Live On Forever!!!!,RIP!!!
Great recording saw em always since 1974 top 5 band ever
Just amazing the amount of sound, complex sound, they get out of three instruments
Holy wow what a performance! Lucky crowd!!
Rush had the best sound system and played exactly like this LIVE.
Neil, gracias Maestro por honrar la batería y ser parte de la gran historia de los más grandes que ni el tiempo borrará. Hasta pronto genio, te fuiste muy temprano!!😪
I never got to see him live thank God for video
You can tell the boys are having fun by the smiles on their faces, yes that’s the Professor’s version of a SMILE
I have only two favorite of anything's. RUSH is one of them. Fargo, N.D. 1976 concreated them as such. I love you Neil, Getty and Alex!
Great music, song and lyric... true professionals.
2112 becomes more and more classic and legendary as every year passes us by.
It freaks me right out to wonder if this album will be news of some kind in the actual 2112.
Thank you Canada for the gift you gave the world....forever miss them, May Rush live in our hearts forever
There are NOT ENOUGH words to express the "movement" of a RUSH concert. Three guys giving it their all. At the top of their game. A level of music that sets the bar so high.....God himself said, "Hey, be careful there my friend's. The Sun is extremely hot."
Thank you Geddy, Alex, and professor Neil~R.I.P. a billion times over, for a lifetime of mind blowing music!!!!
🤘🏻❤️❤️❤️🎸🎸🎹🥁❤️❤️❤️🤘🏻
The energy you have Neil is unbelievable. That’s why I saw RUSH 4X. GOD SPEED BROTHA!!!!
Rush, the BEST band ever? maybe!
Tara Keebler Best three piece by far!
James Bayly Nirvana?
The Girl Who Needs a Golden Calculator to Divide
While I absolutely love me some nirvana, their number two on my list, only to the greatest rock band in history, this one.
Yes! I mean Rush!
Name better band than rush if you can 🤔🤔
The first RUSH album I ever heard...2112, it was like reading a Syfy novel, and you, were the hero of the story.
Rest in Peace Neil
I remember seeing Rush in Toronto in the late 70's they were mind blowing! I love the introduction of the laser light show, wish we had it back then.
The only thing better than seeing them rock is watching them enjoy rocking.
Years ago I read an article about tunning down the notes, and it made me strict when it comes to live bands...... But this piece broke me, it was like the Spider-Man meme, I looked at this video with tears in my eyes and said: I forgive you😢😢😢
Since Neil passed away It's always been hard for me to see them on video. I would have loved to see them live😔they are, without a doubt, my favourite band of all time. Still can't process the fact that they will no longer perform. Long life to the legacy of Rush and farewell to one of the kings, Neil Peart, may he rest in peace.
Always one of my favorite Rush tracks
excelente sincronía, un trío que suena como una ... ORQUESTA....!!!!!!!
GRACIAS ....RUSH...!!
The great beasts of Canada, the greatest live band ever!
Best true rock band ever, in the world !!!!
First heard them in the 70’s. I was 14, BEEN HOOKED EVER SINCE!
WOW! By far my fav song by Rush.
Shame I came to watch it for fun and saw in the comments Neil died earlier this year (which I completely missed). :-(
What a drummer, such control.
Let's celebrate Neil by enjoying his life-works, like this 200%-song!
