Great review. I learned with a 130 lt Starboard Take Off and will downsize the board. I tried boards with 110 liters and even 95 liters of Starboard and it looks OK. I can ride with ease now but working on the jibe part. Weigh 82 kg and our wind conditions are mostly 10-12 to 18 knots here in Mallorca, especially in the summer. I do not plan to do free ride moves etc. Which board would you recommend? Compact 105 liters or Phazer 90 or 110 liters.

definitely phazer 90, if not 78. You would be surprised how early the 78 gets going and in 2-3 knots of wind you can stand and get around. All my frineds swear by this size - so practical.
90 is quite big, 110 is way overkill for you..

A question I now have a Fanatic Sky and it has a angled bottom tail, now I'm looking at a Phazer 5.6 v2 and it has a kicktail but does it also have a small sharp bottom tail?
And is that also the Phazer 5.6 that you foil on the water with in the video?

Yes - it's the 78lt board we have in the vid... small sharp bottom tail - well it depends on what you think is small and sharp - as opinions always differ. I know it's very easy to get up. This and the 765 lt Phazer build and hold pumping speed better than anything else in the range if your pumping technique is good..

Hi coud you advice me im 68 kg , good jibing , start tacking , good lift my goal is small waves do you think compact 75 l will be ok for my ? or rather found pahzer

I would probably go 78 phazer, though at your weight had you not thought of going smaller? 65 phazer is very practical indeed - and gives you something to grow into.

@@ktwo-surf Thank you, maybe I'm a bit too careful, many times I have had situation wind switched off, and on my 85 now I don't have a problem coming back, I am afraid I don't manage with 65 in this kind of situations. But maybe it is way to develope

Great review, thanks. Thinking of getting my first small board (currently on 70L Starboard Wingboard) and was looking at the 46L Phazer, at 64kg I’m hoping to be able to kneel start with maybe some support from the wing. I’m assuming the Phazer would be easier to balance on and get going than the equivalent volume Compact.
At the other end of the spectrum, how do you think the 110L Phazer would go as a Sup foil board for surfing and downwinding?
Would welcome your thoughts on those two scenarios! Thanks

      Hi Jonathan,
IMHO you just have to make the jump from kneel start to powered start. I was fearful of a frustrating learning curve on this, but you just have to figure out what works best for you. Some research with give you a few ideas. In reality, with a bit of inmrov, its extremely easy. Infact, when windy, easier than kneel starting. My advice is go small. 45-50lt is absolutely fine. Even lass possible - You'll need a bigger board for light conditions still, but small boards are a revelation - your standard and confidence gets an instant boost. Kneeling balance on small boards is not really a necessary or productive way to go..
Phazer you can prone surf on, it's better for waves, but compact is better for flat water (it's not bad in waves, just have to ride a bit higher). 110lt is pretty good for foil sup. This is review of such, the V1.. foilshop.co.uk/ak-phazer-sup-foil-morning-christmas-eve-2021/
