- The Deadly Toronto Gang War That Is Killing Innocent Lives
In the depths of Canada, a land often overshadowed by stereotypes and misconceptions, there exists a clandestine world hidden beneath the veneer of polite society. While Toronto may be renowned for its megastar collaborations and its charismatic figures, it's imperative to grasp that the streets of this city are ice-cold, where danger looms in every corner.

I’ll never get tired of people who aren’t from Toronto trying to pronounce Etobicoke.
Hilarious
Etobicokay lol
loooooooooooool
Lol its so funny
Oh you think we give a fk
Imagine fleeing war and persecution, moving to a country to give your kids a better life and then they end up throwing their lives away in the streets
Sad to see these kids die for nothing
Its all Nick Gurrs.
“Etobico’kee”. 🤣 looool everyone pronounces it wrong.
Here it’s “E-Toby-Co” = Etobicoke
Facts 💯
@@catchtwenty22 what... its not etobyco haha its E-TOB-IKO
The k is silent don’t they know lol

I didn’t realize the Olympic stadium is in Toronto lol
thats what i was gonna say🤣🤣
I remember back in the day, when Toronto had their very own and first record label called Beat Factory Rap Essentials and we had many rappers like Thrust Dan E O, Chocclair, K-OS, Rascalz, Redlife, Ghetto Concept, Concrete Mobb, Kardinal Official, Black-1, Wio-k etc were all about the music with very little gang relations or involved in big time drug selling nation wide and murder, it was all about Hip Hop and the culture during the 90s, beats lyrics and conscious vibes, I miss that era when music was music and that street life had nothing to do with what they did in the studio, it was strictly for the culture but unfortunately these days Hip Hop ain't the same, just a bunch of killers getting in the studio making music with no passion and love for the true art of Hip Hop
90s toronto (and canada) hiphop was some of the best hiphop out, its a shame the world didnt take much notice. It all went to shit nowadays
Wassy robbed those old heads so they had to shut the studio down wassssssss gang don’t let the wassas get you
Those guys were never involved in the politics. Some of those older rappers were getting robbed by the gangstas. They grew up in Toronto Housing but never claimed any gangs. The difference back then, and the difference now is the gangsta is the rapper now, the shooter is the rapper today. The ones that’s really involved in the politics of Toronto’s street gangs are the ones that’s putting out music now. For example kardinal’s mother was a teacher and raised him right. That guy was never that type of guy. He was good kid with good grades. Those guys were just entertainers, where the rappers we have now in Toronto are active gang members. Back then these guys couldn’t get into the door but now with the rise of social media you don’t really need a big label, or much music. The guy that’s spinning blocks now is the guy that’s a star rapper Toronto.
along with rap essentials i also have groove essentials on vinyl

I've lived on Jane and Finch for 5 years about 30 years ago. My dad lived there until 10 years ago and I never had or witnessed anything bad happen. I guess if you're not involved in that shit, you're not really in the know. I still live in Toronto and I never heard about any of it.
It's good to hear that nothing happened to you when you lived in Jane and Finch but at the same time, your personal experience doesn't necessarily reflect everyone else's. There are lots of people who live in Toronto that have never felt/been in danger, but on the other side there's plenty of people who have been victims of crime and have felt very unsafe. The same way there are probably lots of people who live in American cities that have never felt unsafe 🤷♂the Jane & Finch neighbourhood has the reputation for being arguably the most dangerous area in the city & for a good reason. In 2020, Jane & Finch area had around 60+ shootings and 5 murders & in 2021 the area had around 35 shootings with 9 murders in the area, and that's not citywide, this is A SINGLE neighbourhood, that makes up a small area of Toronto, it isn't even the worst hood in Canada either.
I agree. If you’re not in it. You know nothing of it. I just found out we even have gangs in Toronto like last month. For the most part I’m not sure what they are really fighting for. Maybe back in the day there weren’t many options but the government gives everyone money here soooooo…. Wtf 😭
I just don’t believe u

That’s what I’m saying. Early early 90’s I was still a kid myself but a club kid where you know all areas and I’d walk any street and feel comfortable. Safe. It felt like a small city to me. But then again I’m a woman and knew people everywhere just because once downtown where everyone goes you meet someone who knows someone.
But remember early 90’s probably knew your parents lol lol
Hmm. That old “I told ya so” feeling is huge nowadays everywhere for me lmao. Took awhile but again…..We are here

The thing is they don’t know where these places are. They only know Toronto. Go to the states and you will find that out. They might know Montreal and Vancouver if they follow hockey but other than that they don’t know nothing about these places. I have family in the states in DC and they don’t know anywhere in Canada other than Toronto.

Running stories and politics from 5 years ago like it's gwanin like that today, yeah shit still popping but half the people in here are dead or locked up, and the politics from 2017 ain't the politics in 2023. Some hoods that were cool with eachother last year, ain't necessarily cool with eachother today, and some that were enemies last year put their differences aside to bang on other hoods or get money together. Google searching your info isn't the same as knowing a few peeps in each hood or being out on the streets where the narrative gets written. Alot has changed in 5 years trust me.
To compare Toronto to Chicago is comical
Why did he put the Olympic stadium of montreal to describe toronto😂
The pic you have of 9nine isn't 9nine. It's LV from South side weston rd.
Its like Chicago, IL,mostly black on black violence. The drug trade is quite lucrative for these gangs.
the deadliest ones dont make music. Lets get that straight.

I've never been to Chicago but I'm sure Toronto is Disney Land in comparison, I've been to Detroit in the late 80s when there was a curfew in effect and even tho I was only 10 I remember how rough it was inmcomparison. But you won't catch me walking through Driftwood at night!
I've lived in Chicago for 3 years in the 90's and it's as bad as they say it is. A very segregated city
Who cares
Toronto is definitely role playing American gang culture. None of it makes sense in Toronto. Jane and Finch, for example, has within 10km a college and a university, a host of schools, a major mall, and three strip plazas. All available for people to go to and get jobs at.
I say this because we are told that it's lack of opportunity and poverty are what drives crime. North York has so many opportunities for anyone who takes them.
These communities aren't isolated from anything, they isolate themselves.
Canada is proof that it's all a mindset. Has nothing to do with these weak ass excuses I hear. ✌🏾

All these 🇨🇦 are wannabes and copies from 🇺🇸🤣🤣🤣it’s comical and so amusing
Yall really need to stop saying stupid shit like this every time you guys see non-American street gangs. You guys need to get this into your heads that the world DOES NOT revolve around America. The Jane and Finch neighbourhood has been a known low-income, crime ridden hood since the damn 70s. There’s poverty and broken homes everywhere in Canada, and where ever there's poverty, there's crime and when there's crime, comes gangs and organized crime groups. Gangs in Canada (Especially in Toronto) have been around WAY before people saw the American gangster lifestyle on TV and in mainstream music. They're most definitely not wannabes, don't speak on shit you don't know nothing about.🤦🏾♂
No Canadian wants to be American . sorry to burst the bubble world that you live In
Toronto isn't in Canada no matter what it shows on the map.
Lol, don't speak on things you aren't knowledgeable on. Canada has had an issue with crime since the 30's with organized crime, and the 70's with Street Gangs, with the two most notable cities was Montreal and Toronto, and Jane and Finch being rated one of the lowest income area right beside Regent Park, which is arguably worse. The world doesn't revolve around the States man, every country has had their gangs and organized crime just as long as the States, and some even existing longer.
@@MythicShadow04Canada still soft as baby wipes 😂 stfu
most of the rappers you pictured at 4:43 weren't even the right ones to the names you mentioned.

Rappers are only 10 percent of the street gang scene, it ain't all about rap and what rappers are saying. There's alot of faceless big-time gangsters that don't wanna be seen or known and those are the ones pulling the strings...those are the bosses, the brick men,the shooters and boosters, the robber, the clobbers and the stick up kids....rappers are only part of the scene where we live.
