Oh my gosh, I have spent hours and made a mess of my kitchen doing all the tasks that Keurig suggested for fixing this problem. I finally had the good fortune of finding your video, smacked the crap out of my Keurig this morning like you instructed...problem fixed!!! You are the Keurig Master!!!
OMG, that did it Dan. Thanks. I'm guilty of not descaling like I should have but this fixed it. I am on my second Keurig and when I called the manufacturer they went through the troubleshooting steps. No luck., BUT they are sending me a replacement at no charge! That is good customer service!
wow, after watching several videos, I didn't have anything to lose since it wouldn't work correctly. I gave it a good whap and now it works. Thank you to whoever figured that out. You are my hero.
I just bought my first Keurig the K40 Elite and on the first cup brewed it only gave me a half a cup what a first impression !!!! But then I found your video and slaped the hell out of it and what do you know I now get a full cup LOL !!!! Great Video !!!!!!
Had to hit about 5 times but now it's working just perfect! Spent 6 months trying to fix it. I just thought that's how my machine was and there wasn't anything I could do, I am so happy now. Who knew hitting it would actually work!
I love to hit things when they do not work...goes back to my childhood of seeing my daddy hit our old black and white T.V and making it work. me and my husb doubted this would work. DOUBTERS NO MORE! Yay it works. Thank you genius Keurig coffee maker fixer.
that was hilarious funny and helpful. My Keurig unfortunately doesn't do that but still from time to time gives me less coffee than it should...Today I tried the paperclip trick and it worked !!!....Was harder to find the 3 holes near to the needle and after I did I inserted the paperclip maybe like an inch and after that I got my first 10 oz cup of coffee...And here is the paperclip video....Keurig B70 Coffee Maker - Not Brewing a full cup - Solution / Fix
Nice vid. Mine's been making 1/2 cups for about a month. It wasn't seeping over the side like yours though. I cleaned and did whatever else customer service asked me to do, but nothing worked. Good thing they honor their warranty and sent me a new one.
Alter you clean out the needle tube with a paper clip you want to make sure no other grounds get up there. Many pods have built up pressure because they are packaged at sea level and are used at higher elevations. To fix that push the pod down in the maker to puncture the bottom part BEFORE closing the top lid. If you do that there will not be any pressure for ground to shoot up into the top needle tube.
Thanks for help, this worked. Originally I thought it was a bad seal, defective solenoid, etc. I never opened it up to find out. The localized forceful palm whack worked, must have re-aligned something.
I hit it pretty sternly but didn't fix it so I continued to hit it hard while I pulled it toward me..basically rocking the unit back and forth while hitting the back of it and that fixed it. Thanks!!!!!
First off....this actually worked. I used the descaling method, the paper clip method, the straw method and even prayed to the Single Serving Gods but nothing worked.....until I smacked it. Voila! Full cup.
The only thing I have not done is take it apart! I have done every technique they have recommended short of dissassembly :) Vinegar, the paper clip, cleaned all the nozzles etc... A good wack does work, if only temporarily. But it feels good to do! Dan
This indicates a solenoid that's sticking. It lives just under where he gave it a whack. Notice the drips in the overflow spout? The solenoid is sticking "open". When power is applied, that solenoid defaults to closed. To test this, without "whacking" your machine, pinch the little rubber over flow spout. If your coffee runs normally when pinched, and runs short when not pinched - you have a bad solenoid. It's a $7 part, but a huge P-I-T-A to change. I've done it though, and totally worth it over buying a new machine. This is a common failure point across all models. Water scale builds up in the solenoid, and vinegar can't get to all parts of it to loosen it up again.
If you need a solenoid, just search Keurig Solenoid. It will be a little cylinder with a top inlet hose bid, a side outlet hose bid, and 2 electrical leads. Here's a link, but don't pay more than $7 USD. www.amazon.com/Pneumatic-Solenoid-Valve-Keurig-Replacement/dp/B01I74H2NI/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1481903517&sr=8-4&keywords=keurig+solenoid
I assume hitting the machine there, broke up the rust on the sticking spring in the solenoid, and the solenoid worked all the way, instead of half way, and giving me half a cup, makes complete sense now, I also think about 5 gallons of vinegar would do it too, maybe "Keurig fix" repaired "solenoid" issue with detailed pictures (model B70)
Unbelievable! In spite of all the positive comments I really did not expect this to work, but nothing to lose so tried it. One knock and bingo! Hmmm... wonder what else that would work on? ;)
Are you sure you don't have a clog somewhere? You might try running vinegar through it...I believe that's the suggested cleaning method. But, I'm sure giving it a nice pound feels better! :)
Someone talk about WHY you have to hit the sucker to make it work. This POS I have is doing the same thing and I'm tired of whacking it with my fist. Any ideas as to what valve/check valve is sticking and limiting the amount of water coming out?
I was so excited but this didn't work for me. I barely get half a cup. The water is pouring into the reservoir just like you show. I hit it, hit it again and nothing. Still pouring into reservoir. Looked at some other videos, cleaned the needle, the basket, the water reservoir, used toothpicks to clean every nook and cranny, ran the brewer with just water to try and clean some stuff out and still get the same problem. The water brews stronger and longer into the reservoir. HELP!!
Mine does not have the extra water spilling over, however it is not giving the proper oz when selected. Literally the biggest cup is only giving me 6oz and the smallest is like 4oz. I have had it for a few years now, so It is not under warranty and I am screwed :( Im happy it is at least working but I wish it was working properly
omg! if i can fix my keurig (all lights are flashing) then i will be trying this. im actually surprised i havent hit it before, its usually my go to fix for appliances.
Considering I know what the "real" fix is for that problem, I had to watch the video to see what the MacGyver of Vaping, the southern guy that can fix everything does. I expected a complex fix. When you punched the back of the coffee maker I started laughing uncontrollably. So much so that my wife asked what was so funny.
Well crap.. I've tried poking holes with paper clips and about every other method I could find. I just tried yours and acting like a caveman and beating the blasted Keurig, is the only thing that will cause it to give me a full cup. Thanks for the video. LOL!!!!!

You are a genius. We tried the paper clip trick and a few other fixes. Your method worked right away and it's still fixed!
OMG, that did it Dan. Thanks. I'm guilty of not descaling like I should have but this fixed it. I am on my second Keurig and when I called the manufacturer they went through the troubleshooting steps. No luck., BUT they are sending me a replacement at no charge! That is good customer service!
I have been to all kinds of sites and tried hours and hours of tricks and tips and your "method" worked first time!!!
OMG it worked.....I never thought of banging the machine....throwing it out the window was a thought...but it worked....Thank you!!!!

I do this all the time to my Kuredpig now and things at work and at home have eased up . THANK YOU
Wow. After using compressed air to clear the lines & a paperclip to clear the top spout, this fix actually was stupid & worked! Love it!
I have the B70 Model and your fix worked "big league". Many thanks for posting!
I love to hit things when they do not work...goes back to my childhood of seeing my daddy hit our old black and white T.V and making it work. me and my husb doubted this would work. DOUBTERS NO MORE! Yay it works. Thank you genius Keurig coffee maker fixer.

so i am going to try all the helpful tips I have learned thus far and if all else fails I will attempt this! hilarious!
I hit it pretty sternly but didn't fix it so I continued to hit it hard while I pulled it toward me..basically rocking the unit back and forth while hitting the back of it and that fixed it. Thanks!!!!!
You never cease to amaze me. ;-)

Where could i buy parts at for it?
Ebay or amazon. If you know the part you need, just search it.

So hit the window seal to fix the coffee machine? What?
This made me laugh. It’s funny how that works some
Times lol

Do I have to smack the shit out of it every time or just once?
This just fixed my B65 that was only spewing out about 10 drops.
It didn't work by hitting it. Now what do I do?
Holy shit! It worked :)
Glad it worked!
LOL, at least it worked! Nothing like a full Cup-O-Joe :)
I tried this on my Neighbor and it works.
It worked!!!!!
I hit mine with a hammer and bought a ninja... problem fixed 😃
Slapping mine like a biatch now one sec... Crappy didn't quite get it!
Why are they doing this is my question?
It is slightly better now though.
I was just about to take mine apart and see if any of the tubes needed cleaning.hahahahaha.
IT WORKED!!! WOOOHOOO!!!
Lol but what’s the real reason problem and fix here ??
Yeah that is why I went to a newer model that did not have this problem :)
Yes… the ole “percussive maintenance” trick
Thank you
funny but I paid to damn much to have to hit it to make it work.
Well crap.. I've tried poking holes with paper clips and about every other method I could find. I just tried yours and acting like a caveman and beating the blasted Keurig, is the only thing that will cause it to give me a full cup. Thanks for the video. LOL!!!!!
I'm stunned that this actually worked! what on earth? haha.
Lolol. Thanks!
The "Fonzy" method works for many malfunctions. :D
If all else fails, beat the sh*t out of it! lol!!
Genius
I gave it a good wack! Now it works! Thanks 😂
Sounds like shock treatment lol!
Thanks, it helped me get out some of my anger for this piece of shit not working correctly as well.
nevermind, that was a fluke, now it's back to half a cup
Did nothing.. i still get cheated out of a 1/2 cup every time.
Damn, it didn't work for mine. I went to clean it with vinegar and now it's being stupid
It’s doesn’t work for mine
