Lived in Chapeltown as a baby and got moved to Meanwood with a few Jamaican families. There was some great kids from Chapeltown, hard working and a good laugh, played football on the top fields with them ever summer in the 80s. Great times.
Some on this video didn't do themselves any favours, saying you can smoke a pound and still drive is idiotic.

A no go area of leeds that as children we were told never to go there as we would be mugged or robbed. Massive drugs problems and the Hayfield pub had to be demolished because of all the drug dealing and gun crimes.

Even the most deprived areas with property boarded up, the streets were clean with no litter or weeds. 30 odd years ago it looked like people took pride in their immediate surroundings. Go to any big UK city now and the streets are littered and untidy. When i was at school 80s-90s there was little racism and was multicultural. The only prejudice was between Muslim and Sikh pupils that only years later found out the hate. There was banter, nothing offensive between peach or brown pupils and if someone fell out it was because they were a nob. My kids are brown, they would think im mad if id say that they are black but my eldest says he's peach coloured
