I think most Christians and Muslims misinterpreted the message, it's not about spreading the practice of worship, it's about moral guidance and principles that need to be followed.

      Namaste.
Amazing really! Do not buy into abrahamic mind controlling establishments. I am glad you and your ancestors never did that.
In reality there is only One God, manifested as different devas and devis who are from the Same essence and different manifestation of the same Divine. This is neither dry and cruel monotheism like in Abrahamic religions, neither paganism or polytheism as they accuse Hinduism which is utterly false and outright deceptive.
In Hinduism God is Father God and Mother God/ess (Shiv-Shakti, Brahma-Saraswati, Vishnu-Lakshni). God manifests in many ways.
Monotheism or the ultimate Reality in Hinduism is definitely expressed multifold ways.
You have forgotten your ancestral language.
That is certainly not a problem.
I am not even indian at all and I can understand and speak some Hindi already. It is not that difficult if you put enough effort. I would like to learn some Sanskrit and Tamil (I find Tamil intriguing because it is a classical and very old language of Southern Bharat) also in the future, perhaps any other indic languages.
If there is a will, Prabhu (The Lord) makes the way easy for the devotee.

I am born in a Hindu family but had no specific interest in religions. I started my schooling in a convent, but after a while, I was put in a government school.
Every day, after the National anthem was played I used to draw a cross on me. My friend a church-going Christian asked me which Church I go to. I told him I don't go to Church. He asked me why I draw a cross after the assembly. My reply was that I may be a Christian and I needed to check with my mother who was a Professor as she would probably know.
It turned out that in the Convent I started drawing the cross after assembly, I used to draw the cross and my mother has seen me draw the cross even in temples.

Every day you enact your worldview on other people by interacting with them. The only way to “live and let live” is to live on an island alone, then you truly can do whatever you want. Otherwise you have to have boundaries and rules of conduct if there was another person. Because both people can’t do what they want without infringing upon the other. The idea of a Christian proselytizing is similar to a mother who cares deeply for her son. If you love someone you will be angry when they do something stupid to hurt themselves, such as abusing opiates, etc. This is the same with Christianity. The Christian sees people living selfishly, and by that hurting others, themselves, and most importantly God who desires the best at all times for all people. And to live selfishly is stupid, and unreal. Because the Law of God is simply a description of reality. Yea verily if you jump off the roof a building you will become paste.

Chinese traditions like visiting ancestors grave are frown upon, having a picture of idols is demon worship. Who the hell died and made Christian god? There is a rational explanation for this
These are Master/Slave religions - born when Kings ruled with an iron fist
Ancient people living under these Kings/Dictators used them as a template for God
Hence a King like God sitting on his throne in the Heavens
      Heaven is his Kingdom
To please him one must get down on one's knees, beg, grovel, sing his praises, swear eternal loyalty & obedience
And of course no King/Dictator would tolerate allegiance to another and so the hate and threats against all others
Think of living in Russia under Putin or North Korea today!
That was the life back than and the ancients came up with such Gods!

In India , all temples including Sikhs ,Jains ,Hindus, Buddhist r under govt control while church and mosques ,madrasas r free hence the result is that :
    1) after Govt of India , 2nd largest land owner is the Catholic and The 3rd largest is the Waqf board a Muslim personal law board
    2) the Muslims have their own personal shariah court and churches their own ..
    3) the land scam of the Churches is enormous with no transparency thus un-named cemeteries r rising 2 times the normal speed leading to massive problems in governance and causing constant friction while Hindus r not even allowed to do a small Yatra or a religious procession in Christian or Muslim dominated area .

      "Dangers of religions "
This only came about after the WW2 and the new world order agenda being imposed on the masses of the nations globally.
Read pre-world War history. People fared well in religiosity. Moral decadence was at the lowest. Society illness at the lowest. And a lot of other things.
Read about welfare of society during that time. Exception is where corruption took evil root in the great churches leading to birth of secularism . From here, they wanted to spread their secular ideology to other nations. To make them carbon copy of themselves. And thise who don't oblige or bend to their ideology, face great challenges, particularly economic boycot even sanctions of inter-trade.
Look about around yourselves and within yourselves; what identity do you have? You are what they intended you to become: carbon copy of themselves, embracing their ways of lives, beliefs and everything. Your ancestirs would not even recognise you as their progeny if they could come out of their graves today!!
This is the fact. And only those who abandoned their roots will say religiosity is dangerous.
Our ancestors lived with different religiosity in harmony all these years, it was never a problem until that idea was planted into our heads.
During LKY times, the local Muslims got sucked the idea of secularists and almost became like them. Almost. Until, by God's grace, the realisation dawned upon them and they repented and mend their ways.
Christians or Muslims, are only mending their ways to return to the path of the one true God for the benefit of life here and hereafter. And that is totally praiseworthy ❤.

Religion is a sensitive issue and in this PC climate today his words would have been a no go.. looking at the comment thread here definitely scared me a little... "live and let live" is the most important thing, and on a larger scale the separation of religion and governance. Everyone can believe that their religion is the absolute truth but the problem comes when someone impose their religious beliefs to others or even persecutes others because something is wrong in their eyes. We see in many countries when religion gets mixed into politics it gets really ugly and the minorities who believe in another religion suffers... hopefully Singaporeans and Singapore can be sensible and can balance their religious beliefs with tolerance for others because no religion has the absolute claim to all the truth of the world... Strangely, the most persecuted groups in the world, are the true Christians. (there is a nominal group who are Christian in name only). It will continue to be persecuted and hounded, accused and matyred till the end of age. China is an example, but today, Christians exist in the millions. Today the news in Manipur, India is very sad. Many tribal groups who are mainly Christians had their churches and homes looted and burnt, with silent consent from the government. Is it in the news? No. And it's not for political but for religious reasons.
The Myanmar tribal Christian groups are also suffering the same fate from the Junta. See the thousands of Myanmar refugees spilling into neighbouring countries - Malaysia, for example. If you have worked among the refugees, you can hear their sad tales. Malaysia is under constant threat of losing peace and harmony because of politicians using race and religion to get power.
