there is a brass spot just as you enter fantasy land through the castle. I call it the wishing spot, you stand on the spot, make a wish and if you time it right you hear Jiminy Cricket sing when you wish upon a star. I showed it to a newlywed couple and as they made their wish, Jiminy sang. it was Disney magical

A friend and I use to send pages of trivia before either of us went on a trip!! I love Disneyland trivia. My second favorite is Tomorrowland. At one time all the plants were edible. My favorite piece of Disneyland trivia is something cast members probably do know about, so it wouldn't fit in this video. I recall you have included this in a previous video. It's the "Little Man Of Disneyland" house - Patrick Begora's home - hidden at the base of one of the trees at the entrance to the Indiana Jones ride. Talk about attention to detail. I love it!

I'm a former Disneyland cast member, and I recently made friends with a former Tokyo Disneyland cast member (even though Tokyo Disneyland is run by a different company that licenses the Disney names and characters, our experiences were very similar). Okay, now that I've watched the full video, here's my favorite piece of trivia that even Disney gets wrong.

My favorite trivia is the teletype message at New Orleans square Depot is NOT Morse code… it’s actually called Continental code, very similar to Morse code but slightly different. And there’s a rumor that Lilian Disney was a Teletype operator during the war. That the original programmers had altered Walt’s opening day speech, and he casually mentioned that fact about Lilian to them.

LOL that song at the end made me giggle. Too cute. I'm trying to think...I'm always amazed by the trivia about the plants. I never realized before I read the fact, that Disneyland is considered one of the largest parks in the world and/or has the largest amount of plant species. I think you did a full video on this and/or the top 10 trees or something but I really loved that video. Like the tree with the oil pipe in it and the oldest Palm tree on the property from the one family in Adventureland. I guess I like it because you know we get so focused on the rides and attractions and food and buildings but the plants really do add quite a bit to the experience, year round!

Right now I'm definitely that student stressing out over tests as the semester comes to a close. As for favorite trivia/facts... I'm always been enamored by the existence of the Disneyland cats. It's interesting to me that they're referred to as employees of the park... wouldn't they be... Cat Members? ;) I also think it's nice that if the cats become comfortable around humans or they accidentally have a litter those cats/kittens are given out to cast members. Imagine being able to say your cat was born in Disneyland!

I went on Space Mountain as a CM during a couple weeks before it opened. It was fast - Very fast! Too fast in fact. The reason? The material that was used for the wheels (nylon I think) was wearing off causing a sort of non-friction or “teflon” effects so the sleds were going quite a bit faster than the 32mph it was designed for. I recall stepping off with other CM friends and we were shaking after a very turbulent, but very exciting ride. They had to replace all the wheels prior to opening to the public.

I’ve tried to think of a Disneyland piece of trivia that you’ve never mentioned (which is really hard because you’ve taught me so much). You’d have to double check, but I believe the water from the Storybook ride flows to the castle moat which then flows to Jungle Cruise which then flows to the River’s of America. And then it gets pumped back up to Storybook again.

Walt's apartment in NOS. The family's apartment on the beginning of Mainstreet. The fact that Disneyland was set up like a movie, and that all the names on the windows on Main Street symbolize the movie credits at the beginning of a movie, as its the beginning of Disneyland as you enter the park. The family bathroom at the Plaza stage, private, huge and no one uses it! The bench on the porch on Mainstreet is the BEST place for parades and to people watch. You just need to snag it early and then send someone across the street for snacks! :), And just as a tip, bring regular snacks (like chips, water etc) and get a locker. Dont waste your money on regular candy, chips etc at the park. Save you $$ for the exclusive Disneyland treats. Also, bring a second pair of shoes, socks, coat etc and get the big locker...easy and cheap!

Three things. The Opera House where Mr Lincoln is located is the only full size building on Main Street as it was the saw mill during Disneyland's construction. The second story was used if not still now for the Disney telephone operators. Second, the building on Main Street where you find a porch with a bench use to sell lingerie and featured the "Wizard of Bras". Third, there is a store on Main Street across from The Mad Hatter which usually sells seasonal merchandise was at one time a restaurant that specialized in breakfast foods and the place inside the store where you can now have items embroidered like sweatshirts and other clothing was the omelette station.

When you enter Disneyland and go down Main Street you are celebrating Independence Day. How can you tell? American flags and red, white, and blue bunting decorate the buildings. Families are together excitedly preparing for the events of the day (not at work or school). You might see a parade or a marching band on Main Street. And at the end of the day you might see a big fireworks display to celebrate the occasion.

He & I are going together to celebrate both of our birthdays (mine is in Feb & I'm turning a very young 58) and I booked our trip through Get Away & told them you referred us. Thanks for all that you do. I love the videos & all of the fun info.

Lol my mom Jan loves it when you do the thing where you put your eye up to the camera and say waaaaiiittt a minute... lol she laughs so hard every single time. My favorite random thing ive learned from you is the fake rust in new Orleans square... only Disney

Thanks for the great videos Chris.
My favorite secret is the roads in Cars Land. Route 66 is a darker asphalt than Cross Street. That is because Lighting McQueen had to fix the damage he did to the road, so Route 66 is newer, and therefore darker asphalt. What great attention to detail!

Always great videos! There are a few more clocks in Fantasyland over by the Alice in Wonderland bathrooms and over in Red Rose Tavern. One of my favorite transitions is the Treehouse and Pirates wall.

The light in Walt’s apartment would be turned on so that people in the park knew he was there, since he passed away the light stays on to symbolise that he’s always there.

I always look at the light above the Fire Station, it's my favorite since I imagine Walt and his family up there in the apartment taking a break from crowds and enjoying family time.

Thanks for the video Chris, you always have 1-2 things I still don't know about Disney. There are so many trivia points I love, but some of my favorites are the matterhorn tree, Patrick's house outside of Indy, the fire insurance plaques in New Orleans Square, and the test wall on Main Street. Thank YOU for being so awesome and positive!!! ❤️

I like the fact that older rides' vehicles were interchangable and that they put teacups on HM, which inspired the ride vehicles for Car Toon Spin. I also like the brass waterfountains in the mornings right after they are shined (also, when did they remove the fountain by HM?) I also like the little tree that divides Frontierland and NOS.

My favorite will always be the Matterhorn tree. I would love a video in the logistics of the upkeep & maintenance Disney needs to perform on the tree (and how they do it) to keep the lines clean.
Great video! How have I never noticed the Adventureland one?!? That’s so awesome!
Also, what’s up with Buzz at 3:15 ? Maybe a lost balloon, I suppose. 🤣

I have heard that when the park closes at night, big lights, similar to those in a stadium, rise up from behind the buildings on Main Street. At 6:30 A.M., right before the park opens for early entry, the lights turn off and lower back behind the buildings. It would be interesting to do a show on what happens after the park closes.

I know probably it's a well known Disneyland fact, but I still love it. I LOVE the lamp in the window of Walt's apartment that is always on, like he's looking over his park and everyone in it. I cannot wait to see it for myself when we visit for the first time in 2024!

The transition between Adventureland and New Orleans Square, on the building facade as you walk from Tiki Room to NOS. It’s all one building, but the facade goes from primitive to French Colonial. Beautiful!
