    nice thanks. If you don't need the controller, only basic colors Red, Green or Blue, or combinations, you can solder the 5v directly to the strip, and the 0 volt to one or more of the RGB. Might save some weight on smaller planes. Plus you can cut parts of the strip and give each strip a different color by connection the 0 v to different RGB lines

    Just figured that I would let you know that RUclips recommended this video to me so you might be getting some more attention from others as well, the RUclips algorithm 😂

      @@CustomFPV Yeah! Nice video, that's actually very useful because I happen to have a spare led strip that I can probably use

    I did this exact same thing to my AeroScout that I put on floats. Looks GREAT on the lake. I did not do the power lead from the ESC but after seeing your video, I will now! Thanks bud! Best regards, Dave

    I tried doing this with my Aeroscout and the exact LEDS from the link above however the power must not be great enough as I am only getting a very dim green light no other colors work. Any advice?

      you might have the connector for the lights hooked up backwards, check that

    nice job but question is....how to do that with any transmiter chanel ON and OFF

    • @CustomFPV
      @CustomFPV  3 года назад

      Nucleo Good question, unfortunately this mod is only pulling regulated power from the receiver, not giving to receiving signal. a signal wire is how the transmitter channel info is sent to the peripheral, so this is incompatible

    What type of foam sheets are you using and where to source them? Thanks!

    • @CustomFPV
      @CustomFPV  3 года назад +1

      These are Adam’s Readi Board Foam Core sheets, available for $1 each at dollar Tree here in the USA. if you don’t live near a dollar tree or are international, you can order a box of 25 online and have it shipped. This foam board is seen as one of the only options for FT planes due to its lighter weight than other competing brands

    can you turn off the leds using your remote control?

    • @CustomFPV
      @CustomFPV  2 года назад

      That’s correct, with this kit at least. however it’s an IR remote so range isn’t the best.

      @@CustomFPV is there anyway to turn the led lights manually using a remote control?

    Why 5Volt? not 12Vol which would be much easier on a 3Cell.

    • @CustomFPV
      @CustomFPV  4 года назад +1

      You could use a 12v setup, however the lights I have chosen utilize a 5v USB input, which obviouslt matches up with the 5v out from the RX. That's just how I do it, but there are definitely other ways. Thanks for watching!

      I live in Russia and getting access to some of this stuff is problematic but I did find the 12v LEDs. I fabricated an adapter to go directly into the 3 cell and put them into a FT Mini Arrow I built specifically for this purpose. One wing green, the other red. Looks great, no blinking or anything fancy, but I'm happy w/ how it turned out.
