Pay to win games should be banned.. Shame on you
@@FJB2020 its almost completely p2w but not all of it is, it just takes sooo long
@@FJB2020 please explain how exactly it is p2w? there's the odd premium that could go up in br but even then, a lot of premiums actually are crappy vehicles.
War thunder is fun but I think they should make it more easy to unlock stuff since it takes a lot of grinding if you don’t have so much money to spend on a game
I'd argue almost all of it is pay to PROGRESS. you can buy a premium top tier vehicle which can help you research but if you're not good, you're gunna get clapped. honestly I think the only potentially p2w part is crew skills
don't get me wrong gaijin are money hungry bastards that make the game as frustrating as they can to make you pay but it doesn't stop you winning.... just makes you want to smash your head against the wall when you get your 5th consecutive uptier 😂
I'm sorry for taking you down Peter, that combat was a blast! 😁 I was flying the red striped plane that stuck in your wing. Got some good footage from the onboard camera too!
Post it! Would love to see the other angle!
SUPER second the "post it!" I'd love to see that perspective!
thanks for fun 🎉
Next time: a transparent plane. Made with perspex or something so it just looks like some electronics flying around.
Wonder woman's invisible jet type of thing
Yeah but that’s just a cosmetic thing, not as interesting as making something fly that you think shouldn’t.
@@Sashazur If it's very, very large and what's inside it is interesting then it could look pretty surprising.
Didn’t the Germans in WWI make a plane with all glass panels to be stealthy, but it ended up being super flashy in the sky or something.
Sorry it will not be transparent cause the total reflection after certain angle
_“More wings is more lift!“_
Ah, the aviation the twenties -- the pantheistic era of aviation science!
My favorite illustrative example of naive aspiration of the time was the shaping of _everything_ into an airfoil section. In some models, even the _door handles_ were shaped like airfoils.
Adorable...
Yes the Cg is at the center of the air craft, but the Center of Lift, Cl, is not, its all the way in the front.
Im a Msc mechanical engineer with a Bsc in aerospace and my guess of what is happening is: the rear most wings are not generating as much lift as the front ones because as the air passes through each wing set it becomes more turbulent, which causes less lift being generated.
Another explanation using continuity theorems is: the delta speed between the air and the wings decreases as the air passes through each wing set, in order to keep the Center of lift near the Cg, in equilibrium, the air would need to be increased after each set of wings in order to maintain the same air speed through the whole of the plane.
Another solution would be to increase each wing set length in order increase surface area and get more energy from the "spent air". In a delta configuration.
It's funny..when an engineer talks about details...everything just makes sense and obvious.. I build boats and always interested to hear the navel architects explain how the dynamics work..
The middle / rear wings are in the downwash from the front / middle wings - lower aerodynamic angle of attack as you move back.
The simple way to look at it is: they are all equal wings spaces equally so they are effectively one square wing. In standard wings, the CG is 1/4 to 1/3 from the leading edge , so the CG should have been 1/4 - 1/3 of the total cord from the leading edge. Just like a normal wing.
Exactly what I was thinking. By the time the airflow gets to the middle and especially rear sets of wings, it's probably so chopped-up that those wings are producing very little effective lift. It would also help explain why the pitch authority was so garbage.
@@SynchronizorVideos pitch was garbage because of how long the effective cord is.
"We are gunna use this ratchet" cool, some kind of system that adjusts where a weight sits, probably on a long bolt throughout the body. Wait, no, he just taped it to the front. I forgot who I was watching.
The exact same thought went through my head
@Yugemostsu same too! lol
Same
Yeah, I also thought about how the ratchet itself isn’t balanced and is probably heavier on one side than the other
I had the same thought!
Fun fact in italian Ca 60 can be roughly translated to "cago" wich is "im shitting", that caproni was a master troll
lmao that’s perfect
Pretty sure it has a similar meaning in Spanish as well
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I thought it translated to CALX?
It reads "casessanta" and what you wrote is...well...male bovine manure
Regular plane model makers: I like to build jets and regular planes

Airplanes are wonderful & relaxin' on the sky it depends too. 💜🎻✈️

I am a time traveller. I was supposed to be an original passenger on the CA-60 but, alas, it was never to be.

My kids recognized the plane design right away because The Wind Rises is one of their favorite movies.
Truly a classic Miyazaki film
Hows the boat coming along? We need an update video
The absolute behemoth sent multiple other planes bouncing off of it to the ground, made a sick recovery, and only went down when two other planes got stuck to it. Only Peter could intend to end up with a wreck but instead accidentally create the flying gigachad.
and then deemed it a failure, that was a firm win by most metrics, took out everything that tried to down it and then only finally went down after having its already pitiful aerodynamics completely wrecked by having other planes tangled in its structure... and then it was still mostly flight worthy after the resulting crash
Part of this plane now sits on my shelf.
When Peter mentioned the "giant demolition derby in the sky" I half wondered if he was describing his own personal heaven.
I don’t want this guy to go down or anything like most RUclipsrs I’m glad to see he’s ok !
Some planes can absorb damage. Yours absorbed airplanes!
There's a lot of future engineers in that field
They are outstanding in this field.
10:44 that thing landed like a VTOL
That is what i thought
I have a few experimental ideas:
1) omnidirectional aircraft similar to ADIFO (can fly in any direction, even side to side)
2) A quadcopter that's as quiet as possible
3) A plane that maximizes payload while minimizing thrust (blended wing body?)
Also, that landing at 10:42 was beautiful
I appreciate you working with the community and building something together. I wish you did more things like this!
1:25 Is it an airplane? Is it a helicopter? NO it's a ....??? 🤣
It's been something like five or six years since I last visited the channel, and while I certainly miss the excess of wood and brass steampunk shenanigans, I'm glad to see that this is still the place to come for engineering and electro swing with a side of homebrew aviation.
You guys were part of the reason I opted to pursue a career in engineering myself, so it's good to see you're still going strong.
The call of duty zombie screams when destroying the plan is hilarious! Love your crazy builds Peter!
video idea::: make an airplane with reaction wheels instead of control surfaces??? you will need a separate reaction wheel for each axis of rotation.
Peter, I know you’ve been messing with ur video formula and spacing so I just wanted to explain: something about this formatting sent shivers as a long time viewer. The slo-motion footage of your model flexing around 3:00 was really well complemented with the scenery/ electro swing vibes, I think these scenes should be a main staple!!!
As a single wing pilot, I've never given much thought to biplanes, UNTIL I helped rig a biplane ultralight. I'm also a builder, and savvy how roof trusses "work", and when the final cable on the biplane was tensioned, I couldn't believe hadn't realized the inherent amount of strength in a biplane design. Top and bottom wing 4' apart? Thats a 4' deep truss, and wire brace is very strong with min weight.
Would love to see a series where you make scale RC models of failed experimental planes
(High pitched electrical engine sounds in the background) Someone: "Ouch, I think a wrench just fell on my head" Peter: "Oh, no! Now its gonna crash!"
I’m about to talk to mustard
Balancing an aircraft is much more than CG. Finding the correct moment is key
“What are you sinking about?…” one of the best commercials of all time 😂
Man everyone got more hits on your plane than I thought! Pleasure sharing the airspace with you during the final sendoff🫡😎
Oh no, I know mustard
Due to the amount of sticks holding up the wind the sticks cause a lot of drag reducing the speed of the aircraft. This is a real factor of old time fighter air craft in ww1 planes, the planes didn’t fly as fast as intended because of the bar holding up the upper wing/wings on the plane.
1:23 MASTERFUL landing. As a KSP player, I was extremely impressed. Also, it wasn't a failure! It's tenacity is inspiring as heck.
that thing flies like a blimp. great job building my favorite plane! your content is awesome. also that thing got demolished.
10:45 this landing was impressive as hell! some VTOL action with some help from the strong headwind
“We’re going to exploit child labor to build this plane” caught me off guard 💀
Discontent rises
Peter, your content is always amazing! Your grasp of all things technical and physical seems vast and growing with every post. I have enjoyed your knowledge of RC's and your interaction with Flight Test and other web entities. Thank you for your insights!!!
Live long and prosper....
Survived multiple mid air collisions. Took out several planes in the process. Pretty solid tank for the derby.
absolutely
Awesome! Always happy to see you back with the FliteTest crew! Thanks for sharing!
I lost my first plane yesterday. I'm so disappointed and depressed about it. It was special to me as my son painted it. A perfectly calm day, and it just started gusting, and at the same time I lost complete control and watched it power away over the city from the park. F35 lightning II. I'm going to write my phone number on all my planes now. 😢
As someone at Flightest commented, Peter is expert at flying contraptions that just shouldn't fly! This one had more success than the original.
What a wonderfully strange airplane design. Really cool to see it in action, albeit at a smaller scale.
I challenge you to make a steampunk airship!!!
"She was beautiful...just like the wind"
Your build skills are awesome 🔥
More lift surface also equals more drag. This means you can generate more lift as slower speeds. But you have a reduction in efficiency and top speed.
I bought your Boooeing 737-9000 Supermax shirt
This and the ceiling fan are the most ridiculous things in the air and it's absolutely beautiful and hilarious.
I was amazed, seeing this in combat! I was hoping Munch would come in for a snack, but an Ercoup did the trick”coup de grace.” My tiny trainer took a look, but was frightened off and lived to tell the tale.
“It’s not pulling up that fast”
Plane: splat!
What a brilliant fun video. Love the destruction Derby, great concept.
I think you need to build more BIG planes you can fly in!
Every time I see your footage of the ABSOLUTE CHAOS of the FliteTest festival, it ALWAYS reminds me of one of AirforceProud95's old videos where EVERYTHING has gone to shit
More lift equates to lower flight-speed & take-off-speed; for trans oceanic flights, the journey on such a plane would barely beat a cruise-liner without a head-wind: for luxurious long journeys that practically loiter in the air, like a blimp, its totally fine, if you're not commuting, just leisure-flying for the sake of being aloft, there's a nitch.
Oh my God I swear this God can make anything fly !!
"Tell me, Japanese boy, is the wind still rising?"
It’s kinda funny how it’s like a crossover with the spinny thing and you, I know both channels. Lol.
Reminds me of "The Wind Rises"
That's what I thought. That scene where he's walking across the wings in his pyjamas, soaring above farmland, talking to Caproni.
I love that movie.
"flying the caproni over this lake is like stepping back in time... except for the actual crash thing"
5:08 *LITERALLY met the same fate*
ehek youre welcome 😉
The greatest barrier to success is the fear of failure.
Plane³ was actually awesome, so many wings that it kept recovering from collisions.
I'm just glad the weird dream plane from The Wind Rises was a real thing
I am increasingly certain that "everybody stands in a field and flies their model aircraft into each other" is the greatest sport ever conceived by mankind.
I would like to challenge you to make a 4 rotor plane with tiny drone motors attached to each of the 8 total blades, and that would be its propulsion. Have each of the blade mounts be able to rotate 180 degrees fore and aft and some software for flight controllability.
Have the aft props be pushers for better capabilities.
Bro was carrying 2-3 planes in the air!!!
That was awesome!!! 😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
What would happen if you lowered the center wing by 1/2? It looks like that would give better airflow across all fixed wing area.
You are right, the biggest RC CA 60 so far. You have proved the plane was a terrible idea. Loved the demolition derby.
Peter, you never fail to deliver at Flite Fest. That was truly epic. I love the way you get all those kids to build these crazy planes with you and then watching them hack them up at the end is so satisfying. Can't wait to see what you bring to Flite Fest 2025.
I think I just saw another RUclipsr plane the channel of the RUclipsr is Nicholas Rohm. Anyway I think that plane is actually very nice and it looks very good. Keep up the good work
Always start too nose heavy. If you don't have elevator authority to get off the ground, you have a safe fail condition. If you start too tail heavy, you get off too easy and then you possibly don't have thrust or elevator control to keep from going unstable. Good piloting getting that first flight back down.
этого мужика видела на передаче "по делам несовершеннолетних"
3:00 "this thing flys terrible" i wonder why
"what are you zsinking about" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hello, yes, zis is ze german coastguard.
😂 the best commercial.
Who loves mustard and Peter sripol videos 👇
I think Rex's Hanger covered it too Same designer built smaller, similar planes that actually flew.
Just a tiny smear on one slice of bread in a ham sandwich.
The mustard, not Peter Sripol!
I screamed every time planes hit your flying rack 😂😂😂😂 and that "helicopter" around.... You guys were show makers that day. Somebody crashed in Ca and it went down? No! It landed with TWO planes stuck in its wings!!!
That thing looks like 36 box kites with a motor and cardboard hotdog holder on the bottom. Great job! I love watching your stuff.
"its actually not pulling up very fast" 15:14
The Wind Rises has a great scene of it flying
Black ops 2 zombie sounds. 😂
(FUN FACT) This plane made it into daily does of internet's newest video
That plane is an absolute unit
Fun fact: The caproni ca60 had two pilots to control the front and back of the aircraft and they communicated via a complex system of lights.
if this had more wings it probably would have been the last one standing.
Among great aircraft adages is: "An airplane with the CG too far forward flies badly....An airplane with the CG too far aft flies badly, once"
I saw a Mustard video about this ages ago and I thought you should try to build one, so glad you did I love you’re videos Peter 😃
It’s funny to me how in the aerial combat that they treated this like a big final boss to beat
Compared to how the original went this one was shockingly resilient
7:45 oh man, you have to revisit the ekranoplan for this
birds have one pair of wings. It's all about the load-bearing surface and frontal resistance. single flap is most effective.
Michael was flying a sealing fan.😂
Please build a Dryland Swimmer- A bike that enables the rider to swim onland by mimicking the movements of the breast stroke or the crawl.
The resilience was remarkable. It took multiple hits and still kept flying. Just couldn’t keep flying with two planes catching a ride Great job👍
Most impressive!
Flitetest hasn't been the same without you Peter. Keep um flying!
Next:Remember the flamethrowing excavator? You mentioned the killdozer.PLEASE DO KILLDDOZER
Good design: the model just about fits in a minivan. He knows his key constraint params!
Back in the day they didn't have high tech wind tunnels or super powerful computers to calculate loads when making planes...they just winged it.
The cheering from those children nearby was so adorable
