    I've just bought a Candy which is similar to the Hoover in this video. That black square on top of the machine before you unpacked it is actually the base of the washing machine. You should have fitted it after removing the locking bolts. It is designed to reduce the noise of the machine.

    Interesting tip worth knowing about washer/dryer combos: if you put too many clothes in the machine on the drying cycle which causes the heating element to trip, all you have to do is remove the top panel of the machine (normally a thin panel of wood) and look for a couple of square "push switches", press both, and this will reset the trip

    Fascinating it's interesting to see the differences between a washing machine in the UK versus the US is. We still have hot and cold and centrally heated water where as it makes more sense to run electric and do on-demand heating in 240v countries. Transportation bolts that's a crazy idea. And you said you don't need to explain what that gray thing is but it doesn't make any sense to me the end is way to big to be a power cord (sarcasm joking) LOL.
    Plastic hose for the water inlet. For the longest time we used rubber/plastic there seems to be a big push lately to use braided metal houses because somehow they don't leak. I've never had one leak and besides the metal mash is over a rubber plastic anyway. usually most of the damaged here's is the metal thread fittings that are made of cheap metal and rust out if not cared for.
    And washing machine in the kitchen crazy. Usually in older homes they were in the basement or bathroom and sometimes closet. newer houses kind of do more of the laundry room.
    And most of the big hardware stores here to free installation upon delivery unless it's terribly difficult to get it in your door.

  • @mrgari189
    @mrgari189 3 года назад +25

    When trying to slide the machine into a recess on a laminate or vinyl floor smear some washing up liquid near the feet and it slides in much easier. Sounds crazy but it works. One other thing to be careful of is the waste water in the sink is higher than the height of washing machine waste pipe. If you have a slow draining kitchen sink (or a partially blocked u-bend) there is a risk of the dishwater backing up into the waste pipe of the washing machine. Keep the waste hose as high as possible - I have mine hooked to the underside of the worktop

      It will slide when you don't want it to if yo uoverdo the washing up liquid. Try sliding it on a carpet tile or scrap of hardboard - then tip th emachine to withdraw it.

    Thanks, just trying to install one for my daughter. Why do they make the drumhholding bolts so tight? Small adjustable spanner was no good, had to get a socket set. Then major problem getting the washer combi off the polystyrene base, had to get my weight-lifter son to help. Then could not get the pipes and power cable through to the undersink cupboard. All this in a tiny kitchen. Will finish tomorrow, large glass of wine now.

    I watch many of your videos out of curiosity... because I'm in Canada and things are quite a bit different here from there.
    Like your washing machines. Compared to yours, ours are huge. The ones that are in our rental apartment, for instance, is a top-loader that can wash our biggest blanket without trouble... it's an oversized queen sized heavy fleece/mink style. We also have dryers to make our lives easier. I don't know about you, but hanging clothes on a line in -40C temperatures is not my idea of a good time.
    By the way, I also really enjoy learning things from you. You have an excellent way of explaining things so that a novice can understand. Thank you for that.
