One correction: Aegon the Conqueror did not controll 3 dragons. 2 of "his" three dragons where the dragons of his sisters. His own dragon was Balerion, his older sister Viseniya was riding the dragon Vhagar( that dragon also appears in House of the Dragon - the huge one) and his younger sister Rhaenys was riding the dragon Meraxes. Balerion and Meraxes are already dead in the time of House of the Dragon. Balerion was in fact already very old during the conquest of Westeros - he was one of the few dragons who was originally from Valyria itsel. Vhagar and Meraxes both hatched at Dragonstone after Valyria was already destroyed. Balerion makes appearances of a kind in both shows though - the massive dragon skull that is shown occasionally in the background is the skull of Balerion. Maester Aemon not holding land has nothing to do with him being at the wall - he is not a brother of the Night's Watch. However the maesters of the Citadel have similar oaths. PS: Do you now understand why the smith, Gendry's master, sent him away? He sent Gendry away to protect him.
@@HH-hd7nd This is incorrect. Maester Aemon has taken both the Nights Watch oaths and the Citadel Maester oaths. Nights Watch maesters are also members of the Nights Watch. On the subject of Pycell when you have watched season 3 you should check out a scene that was cut from the show where he gives his reasons for acting old & infirm, it's an amazing little speech and a great scene it's on RUclips under Unique cut scene from game of thrones season 3.
The "Whoever passes judgement" quote is actually a bit better in the book. “The man who passes the sentence should swing the sword. If you would take a man's life, you owe it to him to look into his eyes and hear his final words. And if you cannot bear to do that, then perhaps the man does not deserve to die.” Martin is truly a wordsmith and a font of wisdom from the mouths of his characters.
Note that in the books we learn that the old man who died by drinking the same wine as Melisandre is the Maester who raised the Baratheon brothers after their parents died. So this explains better his motive, he viewed Stannis almost as his son.
In regards to Gendry and his master, I've always thought the Master knew the truth about who Gendry is, and once the Lannisters took over he sent Gendry away so he would be safe.
Absolutely, there is no way he would give up such a skilled Blacksmith that he put many years into training, and give up that investment for no reason. He knew dang well who Gendry was, and probably held Robert in high regard. Sending Gendry away was to save his life.
I imagine the armorer also didn't want the heat/issues from his apprentice either. He had two lords of great houses, and 2 hands speak to Gendry in a relatively short span of time and they both died. Guy just wants to make armor, he doesn't need all that trouble.
I don't feel the Blacksmith would have sold him out so quickly if he was the kind of guy who would do that. I think he was just getting rid of Gendry for some unknown reason.
To add more to the tragic death of Ned, in Episode 2 when Cersei asked Ilyn Payne to kill Sansa's wolf, Ned said: "I'll do it myself... the wolf is of the north, she deserves better than a butcher"; and that's exactly how he died.
The histories always say "Aegon and his three dragons" because they're written by the men of the realm, completely downplaying that the other two dragons were controlled by his sister-wives. They mostly worked as a unit, yes, but Aegon alone didn't command all three dragons.
True, but this trend of saying all of the dragons belonged to one person is not that unusual. When Dance is being discussed, people say that Rhaenyra had ten or so dragons, same concept applies.
They infrequently acted as a unit. Usually, Aegon and his sister-wives acted and flew quite independently - separate missions in service of a common goal.
They got it very fairly from the History and Lore video they watched, which unfortunately stated several times that “Aegon unleashed all three of his dragons.”

Daenerys has three "blood riders" which Drogo picked to be her protectors when they married. You guys are by far my favorite reactors to GOT i've ever watched. You're both very perspective and take the journey seriously. Can't wait too see many more reactions!
The religion of the Red God was introduced this episode. This is a very uncommon religion in Westeros but is the most common in Essos, so most Westerosi see it as weird and scary and foreign. In Stannis's intro scene they were burning models of the seven gods of the Faith of the the Seven (the "New Gods"), the most common religion in Westeros in favour of the "one true god", the red fire god, R'hllor.
It's really refreshing having two people react to shows together that I feel like have their own innate ways of understanding things--you both have a different/individual way of seeing things but it blends so well together.
I agree. Most reaction couples/groups the folks are usually all agreeing all the time and there is no real debate or disagreement. It is really makes the reactions a lot more fun, unique and interesting imho and you can tell the different viewpoints are genuine and not just for entertaining us.
It's funny how Sansa is probably the most polarizing/ambiguous character at the end of season 1 that would be most interesting to see if people like or dislike, but whenever reactors do their character lists, they always forget to mention her. Varys, too.
Sansa has very little agency so far, really the only choices she made were not supporting Arya and the butchers boy and wanting to marry Joffrey. I can see how people wouldn't rate her yet. Varys should definitely be rated though.
Yeah, I like their conversations and predictions. Because sometimes I catch myself thinking "Ohh that's a good theory. Maybe it'll work that way." before I remember that I already know everything that happens.
"Blood of my blood" is how a Dothraki leader (usually a khal but in Dany's case a khaleesi) and their bloodriders refer to each other. Bloodriders are the leader's sworn protectors who will avenge the death of their leader before killing themselves to join their leader in the afterlife.
Combine w the fact that every time an actor from show talks about working w him the first thing they bring up is how sweet he is or how jarring it was watching a sweet boy on set turn into a monster in character.. I'm a contrarion who wants to argue w this, but yea it should make any top villain performance list
The Red Woman we see with Stannis is a Red Priestess of the Lord of Light. The Lord of Light is a different religion than that of the Seven or the Old Gods. They're basically Fire worshippers, that's kinda what we see with the ritual on the beach at Dragonstone.
Yup, and it originated in Essos. Some worshippers of the Lord of Light travelled to Westeros to spread their faith but with little success, except with Stannis . So what Melisandre achieved to do was a pretty big feat gaining Stannis and most of his followers to her faith
Fun fact about jaime is in the books during the battle with Robb (before he got captured) he was plowing through soldiers and getting near robb and robb was actually scared until jaime got overrun by a large number soldiers. sry for bad English not a native
@@dheerajbaxla4593I think Torrhen Karstark is killed by Jaime as he closes in. Robb has a bit of Kingsguard defence, and all Jaime's men got picked off, so I don't think he'd cut them all down.
@@Baratheon. He didn't need to cut them all down. If Jaime had killed Robb, the army would have lost moral as their leader would be dead. That's why when Jaime show that his army was losing, he went after Robb and killed anyone who came in the path. Had his sword not got stuck, he would have killed Robb and ended the North rebellion. Bran was next in line after Robb and he couldn't lead a war. So Starks would have lost
Well, it is confirmed. You guys are my favorite reactors. I find two reactions a week is just about perfect for me. Just when I am starting to look for the next one, here it is. You are so genuine from what I see and I love the discussions before and after. You have the right amount of humor and seriousness too. And I love how you have your minor disagreements. And this show is just getting started. You are still pretty much in the introductory phase. The budget is increased but season three is when you really start to see the affect of the budget. And it just gets better and better from there budget wise.
I am so enjoying re watching GOT vicariously through you two. The looks on your faces are priceless with every shock and payoff Your observations about Stannis are on point Pudgey. Spartan, the Cersei Little Finger scene is one of my all time favorites. I actually agreed with Cersei for once in that moment. There is another line to come- by Varys - that ties into this one of hers very well. Together they really are 💯FACTZ. I’ll look forward to you two recognizing the line when it’s delivered. It’s another iconic one.
Love how fast you guys are getting these out i look forward to watching each one and seeing how your theories compare to the ones I had when I first watched it.
Gendry said the previous Hand also came to visit him, asking if he was treated well. The armourer had likely been told to raise and employ Gendry, he was probably being paid for it. When Robert died, then Ned, he saw no reason to keep him.
No> Gendry was an an excellent apprentice there was no money involved or needed. He was doing fine work for the blacksmith. He sent him away to save his life. The gold cloaks had to torture the blacksmith over fire to get him to talk. Only then did he give up Gendry. If what you say is true then he would have told them the truth from the start.
I just have to say, reading the comment sections of these videos... it's cool to see how many big fans are here to go along the ride and give helpful lore that doesn't spoil things. All key points as well, nicely done peoples
I really love this reaction series, i really like that you both are so invested and willing to learn about GOT. looking foward to seeing your reactions to some game changing episodes:)
17:30 Not sure if you guys caught it, but that look that Tyrion gave Littlefinger when he said "so much to be thankful for" was him basically saying he knows it was Littlefinger who framed him for the dagger
It was interesting to hear you guys guess that cersei is the golden child. She's certainly more loved by their father than Tyrion. For a little context from the book (not a spoiler really, just Cersei's inner thoughts): she is the oldest twin, but Jamie is favored by their dad as a boy. However, Cersei feels she is most similar to Tywin, and is hoping her dad one day sees the qualities of his true heir in her.
Correction You are both still summer children, Don't worry we will let you know when you both become a Woman and Man of Winter, The Death of ned is just a learning lesson Everyone is up for the chopping block doesn't matter if you are a Main, side or guest character also proves that there are no hero's that will come out of nowhere and intervene, S1 E9 is just saying Welcome to the game of Thrones
and now it begins the war of the five kings: Robb, Joffrey, Stannis, Remly (Robert's younger brother) and Baelon (theon's father). remember the prophecy in the HOTD about how the realm should unite against the winter threat of the north. now the entire realm is divided and we got 5 kings. And Targaryen girl with 3 dragons on the other side of the world "from my blood comes the prince that was promised and his will be the song of ice and fire" - Rhaenyra
To watch Cercei and Tyrion hate each other makes it hard to remember that Peter and Lena are actually best friends in real life and I believe Peter is the one who talked her into taking Cercei's role (But don't quote me on that).
Yeah I heard that, too. Having a good friendship on set makes for GREAT rivalries on screen. Lena Heady was a phenomenal casting choice and I commend Peter for pushing her to join. Every smirk and scoff absolutely oozes with entitlement and bitterness while hardly touching her complexity.
I heard she felt bad during that one scene where Cersei slapped Tyrion, because Lena is really good friends with Peter. I know it happens this season, but not which episode.
I love the love/like/hate list awesome idea. It's going to be interesting to see how/if these change throughout the seasons. Can't wait to see your guys' reactions. It's always fun to watch you guys react and try to figure things out when I know what's coming. keep up the grea videos
They got it, very fairly, from the History and Lore video they watched, which unfortunately stated several times that “Aegon unleashed all three of his dragons.”
@@kalecrystal4054 that has little to nothing to do with it. They all flew under his banner and burned and killed people in his wars. So when they say he "unleashed all three of his dragons" its because he had three dragons that he could give out the command and they would do his bidding. It does not matter whether it was his sister that held control of the other two, his sons, or somehow a second Valarian family that was vassals of him. He had three dragons that would directly or indirectly burn what he told them to burn. When Robb fights, its "his" army that fights, if the soldiers are mostly Stark, Karstark, Bolton or Mormont makes no difference. Whether the vassal is a man or a woman. They fight in his war, under his banner, in his war, in his service. They are his army. Its not wrong to say “Aegon unleashed all three of his dragons.” it saves time, would it be good to get a more in depth explanation? Yes. Just like it would be cool to get a more in depth look at Robbs army, but unlike Robbs army many of the lore videos mention the sister and their dragons in the other lore videos.
@@AstaraBrightwing I understand that. I’m not saying they are right, I’m explaining to other commenters, who may not have realised, that there is a very valid reason that Pudgey & Spartan have got it wrong.
*spoiler warning for GoT!* I really wish they would give her a little cameo in HotD… but not any other actress playing her. I understand she’s aged a decade irl, but that’s what all that digital de-aging is for.
@@Neddoest That's a very cool idea. Do add a spoiler warning at the beginning of your comment tho. You might not realise it but it's spoiling a very big thing about her.
41:49 I found it quite telling that you feel that way...Stannis has many loyal fans, mostly among the book readers that know a truth about his character and consider his tv series version as...one of the many fuck ups of HBO showrunners. I wouldn't say they completely butchered his character, but some aspects of him was...heavily misinterpreted, especially when it comes to the nature of his relationship with Red Woman. 31:34 Excellent little example of the same...D&D creativity that all GOT fans love so much. It's completely ooc for Littlefinger to speak to Cersei in that way, because (similiar to our friend Pycelle) he is always trying to appear as harmless and friendly as possible towards everyone around. Which works for him really well, only Varys seems to have some idea of who he actually is.
That scene in the throne room is one of my favorite Joffrey scenes. It's such a great way to show the shift in their power dynamic that's been bubbling. I think that a lesser performer maybe would've gone to big with it but Jack's quiet-threatening was so good at selling you on the fact that he was not kidding.
very smart from the two of you to call out Pycelle ... u are on point with that, although it is never revealed in the show (just in some cut out footage)
Give your girl credit - she's on it mate! "He who passes sentence should swing the sword." A little encouragement may go a long way, especially when she's so spot on!
Damn here we go, season 2 guys, lets gooooo ! So hyped for you to discover this season, wish you a great experience Spartan and Pudgey ! Lets play the Game of Thrones, as winter is coming !! 👑⚔👑 PS : you've passed the sweet summer child test, but you are not people of winter, not yet... 👀
You guys are adorable together and so much fun to watch react to this show. Sending love from the states! Also totally agree with Spartian on Jamie. He’s one of the most complicated characters in this world (aside from Daemon in HOTD)
The Woman in Red is a priestess of a new religion that we haven't seen before. It's neither the "old gods" (children of the forest) or the new (the seven). They follow a montheistic religion, the Lord of Light.
Good, you´re the first one´s I know that picked up the Pycelle deception. You should really check out the deleted scene between Tywin and Pycelle, Tywin calls him out while fishin
I have to say, I'm always impressed by reactors. I feel like I really didn't pick up on the level of details you guys pick up on when I first watched it--it was only after watching several times that I got that level of detail.
Another great reaction! I'm surprised you though Littlefinger telling Cersei he knows about he sibling love was a good play, since we just watched Ned die for doing the same thing.
Robb is King -IN- the North, not -OF- the North. It may seem a pedantic point of nomenclature, but it's actually a fundamental indication of the different relationship between the people and their leaders, in the areas still culturally closer to the First Men, rather than the Andals. Kings in the North have a duty to serve their people as King, rather than an entitlement to dominate a realm which is deemed to be their own possession.
Nice reaction. I love seeing this show though the eyes of others that enjoy it as much as I did. I am also glad that you made the list a part of your reaction. Everyone has different views on characters and I must say I have never seen anyone go as easy on Jamie as you did after season 1. I guess that good looking people do catch all the breaks lol

Stannis is one of my favorite characters honestly, he’s a just man but a hard man.
Lancel is a much younger boy, being seduced by his MUCH older cousin. The wolf that you saw reflected in the water was Bran's wolf Summer.
"I am figuring jaime out" lmao Jaime's charm even after he pushed a child. I can't wait to give y'all my final assessment of him.
As always, I enjoy your reactions. Your channel is literally the first I check whenever I'm on youtube
35:10 - he cant be blinded by personal feelings - very good description spartan, very good description of what a leader / ruler should do
19:30 love that look on spartans face when hes finally caught pudgey saying something wrong haha
I love these reactions because you guys come up with a bunch of theories and it’s like “you guys are really about to be in for it 😅”
Yeah, I like their conversations and predictions.
That scene with cersei and littlefinger is one of my favorite of the show. "Power is power"
I've seen it tens of times, still so good.
Joffrey is probably the best actor from this whole show NGL. The fact he commands so much hatred shows how well he plays his role.
Been really excited for you guys to meet Stannis
Same! Stannis the Mannis!
Stannis ! Stannis ! Stannis !
"Gold is cold and heavy on the head"- Stannis
The King Who Cared
My knee is bending
Fun fact about jaime is in the books during the battle with Robb (before he got captured) he was plowing through soldiers and getting near robb and robb was actually scared until jaime got overrun by a large number soldiers.
sry for bad English not a native
He wasn't overrunn. His sword got stuck in one of the freys i believe when he killed him. Otherwise Rob would be dead.
@@dheerajbaxla4593 yeah forgot the details been a long time.since I read it
@@dheerajbaxla4593I think Torrhen Karstark is killed by Jaime as he closes in.
** Your English is better than most natives!
Meeting Stannis the rightful king 🦌⛈👑
He’s also the king of good grammar
Well, it is confirmed. You guys are my favorite reactors. I find two reactions a week is just about perfect for me. Just when I am starting to look for the next one, here it is. You are so genuine from what I see and I love the discussions before and after. You have the right amount of humor and seriousness too. And I love how you have your minor disagreements. And this show is just getting started. You are still pretty much in the introductory phase. The budget is increased but season three is when you really start to see the affect of the budget. And it just gets better and better from there budget wise.
❤🙏🏼 Thanks Boki
I am all hyped to revisit these eposodes with you. Thanks for share with us!
I am so enjoying re watching GOT vicariously through you two. The looks on your faces are priceless with every shock and payoff
Your observations about Stannis are on point Pudgey.
The fact that Spartan knows Cercei is the wife in 300.... A man of culture I see 😁
I always liked how the opening titles fly through the world to give you a mental map of the main locations and their positions relative to each other.
Stannis is a force of nature that blows one direction. The direction of his choice. The only thing that saves you from him is your loyalty to him.
All the Baratheons and Durrandons are generally alike in this regard. Even Renly shows it.
''so apparently since episode 9 of season 1, we're not sweet summer children any more''_ I actually laughed out loud
I just love the fact you guys have put the effort to learn more about the world n the characters with each episode ur commentary is appreciated
I never skipped the intro to this series. I absolutely loved the music. Just loving your reactions as well.
Great eye for the Dragonstone features you spotted! Can’t wait for the next one already!
Love your reactions guys. Looking forward to the rest of this journey. Peace from Canada 🇨🇦
I just have to say, reading the comment sections of these videos... it's cool to see how many big fans are here to go along the ride and give helpful lore that doesn't spoil things. All key points as well, nicely done peoples
32:24 that little must be a little bird, a spy by varys
I've got to compliment you guys on your edits some of the best I've seen.
thank you! ❤
There's so much that happens from here until the end. I'm excited to go on this adventure with you two.
Love the both of you having Tyrion in your love list, one of my fave GOT characters. Peter Dinklage acting skills and comedic timing are amazing!
Them saying that Ned Starks death will go down as one of the brutal ones… oh you sweet summer child.
Stannis the Mannis has arrived! All hail the *ONE TRUE KING* of Westeros!
Love your Love/Like/Hate lists!! Really interested to see how they change throughout the show.
Oh theyre changing once or twice for sure 😂😂😂😂
Idk if youve noticed.. but the wilding with Bran is Tonks from Harry Potter
Loving your reactions guys, What your watching now is rare in television so enjoy it while you can and do everything in your power to stop spoilers.
That's the goal!!
Aww… i was waiting for “power is power” that is one of the best lines
Our little summer children theorizing.
Hugs from Yucatán, México.
Really enjoying your reactions. Love you guys pay attention to dialogue. It’s a lot of moving parts .
Thank you for doing the lists! Adds so much more depth into this journey with you guys! 😊
Glad you are continuing on this journey!
I have been waiting for this! Thanks guys great!
and now it begins the war of the five kings: Robb, Joffrey, Stannis, Remly (Robert's younger brother) and Baelon (theon's father).
remember the prophecy in the HOTD about how the realm should unite against the winter threat of the north. now the entire realm is divided and we got 5 kings.
And Targaryen girl with 3 dragons on the other side of the world
"from my blood comes the prince that was promised and his will be the song of ice and fire" - Rhaenyra
You should pay attention to the music, every house and charecter has it's own music theme!
@@rhaenyralikesyoutube6289 I know Charles (Tywin) kept apologizing to Peter for the awful things he said in character
I love the love/like/hate list awesome idea. It's going to be interesting to see how/if these change throughout the seasons. Can't wait to see your guys' reactions. It's always fun to watch you guys react and try to figure things out when I know what's coming. keep up the grea videos
When they referrenced Aegon and three dragons - that is what he had command of, as in part of his army. They were controlled by his sisters.
The best line in this episode
"Power is Power" .
Would be great if you keep this line in this reaction
That whole interaction is one of the best. I like seeing areas where Cersei can go toe-to-toe with Littlefinger.
I enjoy this reaction to the show more than most, but I do find the quick cuts and the choice of which scenes to keep curious at times.
@@ThatAnimalBlundetto thats only becuse theyre still fresh, theyll learn what to leave in exactly, they got 7 seasons to go!
@@ThatAnimalBlundetto i really love your name BTW! U da top G for Sopranos!
@@anatos1722 the show only lasted 4 seasons, don't know where you got 7 from
Aegon the Conqueror only rode and controlled one dragon, Balerion. His sister wives rode Vhagar and Meraxes.
They got it, very fairly, from the History and Lore video they watched, which unfortunately stated several times that “Aegon unleashed all three of his dragons.”
Men writing history and lore
It actually makes sense they would record the truth with that skewing in this patriarchal society within the GOT universe
I am so happy when you guys post these game of thrones reaction videos cannot WAAAIT to see the rest
The Red Woman is one of my favorite characters. Season 2 is really when things begin to ramp up.
Hottest woman on the show imo and the bar's pretty high
*spoiler warning for GoT!*
I really wish they would give her a little cameo in HotD… but not any other actress playing her.
I understand she’s aged a decade irl, but that’s what all that digital de-aging is for.
I’ve been hoping for the same. That would be so cool if they do that.
@@Neddoest That's a very cool idea. Do add a spoiler warning at the beginning of your comment tho. You might not realise it but it's spoiling a very big thing about her.
@@math9172 oooo… sorry my bad, I forgot!
The sound pudgy made at 10:12 LMFAO and spartan telling her she cant change is fucking hilarious
DAVOS!! One of my favorite characters
very smart from the two of you to call out Pycelle ... u are on point with that, although it is never revealed in the show (just in some cut out footage)
KING OF THE NORTH... That always gives chills... House Stark = House of Honor
It's interesting to see how you figure things out without really figuring things out. Love the reactions. Keep 'em coming 👍
Ah, finally - I'm counting the days always between your GoT reactions! Love these, keep them coming!
Give your girl credit - she's on it mate! "He who passes sentence should swing the sword." A little encouragement may go a long way, especially when she's so spot on!
Finally I’ve been waiting for you two to start season 2.
Yes..about time! I can’t wait til you guys see season 3…and 4…and 5…and 6…I’m in it for the long haul with you!

Lets play the Game of Thrones, as winter is coming !! 👑⚔👑
PS : you've passed the sweet summer child test, but you are not people of winter, not yet... 👀
and so he spoke… and so he spoke
You guys are adorable together and so much fun to watch react to this show. Sending love from the states!
Also totally agree with Spartian on Jamie. He’s one of the most complicated characters in this world (aside from Daemon in HOTD)
Stannis' Castle is Dragonstone. The very same we visited in House of Dragon.
Welcome back. Love from Uganda 🇺🇬
She called a Direwolf a Dog REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
The Woman in Red is a priestess of a new religion that we haven't seen before. It's neither the "old gods" (children of the forest) or the new (the seven). They follow a montheistic religion, the Lord of Light.
Good, you´re the first one´s I know that picked up the Pycelle deception. You should really check out the deleted scene between Tywin and Pycelle, Tywin calls him out while fishin
Daemon can't control 2 dragons either, he was just singing to Vermithor.
"I wonder if it's the Mountain."
Those are fighting words for the Hound!
Just like Scotland was... King of scots ... Not king.of Scotland.... Love that
Your favorite word: INTERESTING
Nice reaction. I love seeing this show though the eyes of others that enjoy it as much as I did. I am also glad that you made the list a part of your reaction. Everyone has different views on characters and I must say I have never seen anyone go as easy on Jamie as you did after season 1. I guess that good looking people do catch all the breaks lol
The actor playing King Joffrey is such a talent. Literally convinces you of hating his guts.
i will always get goosebumps when melisandre says stannissss baratheonnn
