    To put things in perspective turning your shower on MAX cold is about 55 degrees whereas an ice bath is around 32-38. Being able to just hop in like that and talk normally is crazy.

    i’ve been taking nothing but cold showers as type of punishment, the first five days for me were the toughest. i didn’t realize the benefits; my face is always clear and hydrated, i have better confidence, it just gives you an aura cause it’s not easy to keep it cold rather than to make it hot and nice

      I dont think this has anything to do with what you just said. It's just a sense of achievement. Same as if I would say I feel invigorated and more confident since I stopped smoking. Its a placebo effect.

      I think there is a physical benefit of "exercising" your blood vessels with the hot and cold showers. You're forcing them to open with the hot, then constricting them with the cold.
      For me there is also a sense of achievement of having overcome the resistance to do it.

      Its still horrible but you do it everyday?hmm I used to do them and i adapted fairly quikly in like a month where only the first like 5-10 seconds is bad but after that its easy. Intresting , I stopped doing them because they were too easy and i feel like there is not much stimulus anymore in a cold shower for me. I wish i could do plunges.

      It’s main thing is an immediate and immense decrease in inflammation. This provides some very self explanatory benefits. It also causes a reaction in the body that is associated with life preservation, and this rush of very real, tangible chamicals causes tons of mental health benefits which ease depression and anxiety.

      You dont need it delivered. Dump 7/11 ice into a plastic tub from homedepot, or your bathtub, then after the bath scoop them out and put them back in the garbage bag back in your freezer. Pretty simple. my 3 bags of ice have lasted for about a month.

      @Forever Solvent I've worked 12 hour shifts for decades worked 2 jobs for about a decade somewhere in that multiple decades of 12 hours. I invest alot of my money. But again, I've got 15 more years before I retire. And I get a pension when I retire I plan on living to 120 and making them pay for working me like a rented mule.

    I just started cold swimming. The required temperature is higher than cold plunge. It’s harder to swim at lower temperatures but I end up feeling great after 2-3 laps

    I did my first ice bath today but I didnt have much ice and the water was maybe 50 degrees F. How much do you guys use in a traditional home bath tub? I stayed for a little over 6 minutes to compensate for the lack of frigid temp.

      4 to 6 minutes. Turn ur cold water on in ur bathtub, fill it up, put a bag of ice in it, which makes the water about 24 to 36 degrees. And enjoy the benefits. I feel amazing everytime I do it.

    This is very different to a cold shower, it's an ice bath: it borders hypothermia meaning it's really hard to endure let alone get used to. There are lots of benefits of course.

    When you ice bathe and not move inside you create a thin layer of hot water that surrounds you, so it is easier then when you move. But it is hard anyway

    It's much easier to start with cold showers and gradually work towards this, you gotta have a good night's sleep and preferably do a little exercise before
