    When Miku got her Zemaitis endorsement, they asked her if she wanted an acoustic guitar and she said 'No Way'. Couple of years later she went back to them and asked for an acoustic and their reaction was 'See, I knew it' (it's possible I made this up but I'm sure Miku has talked about it lol). She has come a long way, she's not the greatest guitarist in the world but the fact that she holds her own with 3 of the best musicians that I've ever heard is a testament to all the hard work and dedication that she's put in alongside everything else she conributes to this band.

    Is there anyone more talented than Miku? She writes the lyrics, she plays rhythm and acoustic guitar, sings backing vocals and does all the crowd interaction and also does lead vocals for a couple of songs per album and she did the arrangement for this herself. She has amazing vocal range and a great voice, I don't know why she thought she couldn't carry the band vocally on her own. But saying that, what would they be without Saiki?

    When Miku started the band she didn't play guitar,it was when she decided to step back from singing lead
    to bring Saiki into the band to sing lead that she started to learn to play with Kanami as her teacher. She's turned into into a really fine rhythm guitarist that compliments Kanami's playing. Miku also sings and plays lead on a song called "Time" during this show which is my favorite song of hers

    • @outwest1014
      @outwest1014 Год назад

      Miku was told by the others, they need a fuller sound AKA another guitar. First thought was Saiki would be the 2nd guitarist. That didn't fly. Miku did not want another band member, SO she said she would learn to play, only if Kanami was her sensi. Kanami plays all the guitar parts on the recordings, teaching Miku her parts for the live performances. Kanami even wrote a song to be the "step" to a more complex song to get Miku up to speed.
      What impresses me is not how well Miku plays now, but that she has mastered singing while playing!!!

Also, first time they appeared without their maid outfits. The band performed songs with several different combo lineups, Saiki and Kanami doing "Different" was shocking and delicious. Akane and even Misa got to do some backup singing. Akane performed at least one song on cajone. But most of all Misa was drinking water and wearing shoes! Thanks for the reaction!

Kanami's beautiful sweet voice on several songs is so good and the final song, Page with the whole band singing harmony is a thing of beauty and is prone to make my eyes water everytime.

    From another of my info files, this time about the Vocal talents of the Ladies;
    "Miku the Secondary Lead Vocalist is a Mezzo-Soprano, meaning she can sing lower and higher than Saiki the Primary Lead Vocalist, who is a Contralto/Alto. However Miku doesn't have the same vocal power that Saiki does. I have two different analogies explaining it. The first is audiophile: Miku only has a pre-amp installed, while Saiki has has the pre-amp and amplifier installed. The second is the hose: Take a hose with a screw nozzle, open it up so it covers the largest area, it doesn't spray very far or hard, that is Miku's voice. Tighten up the nozzle and now it can go very far with much more power, but it doesn't cover as wide an area, that is Saiki's voice.
    And while Miku does perform backing vocals, she ISN'T a BACKING VOCALIST. She is the Second Lead Vocalist. Kanami, Akane, and MISA do perform backing vocals which are used on the backing track they use when they perform live. The other Ladies find it difficult to both sing and play their instruments at the same time."
    And during this performance, Akane used "Rod" sticks plus the chimes. And with the exception of some help with a chording issue, Miku rearranged this song herself. Going from the heavy in your face Live Electric version to what you see in this video.
    If you have the opportunity to see the Full on Electric version, either from their February 2021 Online concert or one of the Fancams from their 2022 US tour, I suggest you watch it as well to both SEE and HEAR how good it is.
    And during the full electric version, Miku hit the same note at the end, however during the electric, Kanami told her she could NOT use her head voice to hit it. So she hit it with her chest voice, in the acoustic though she used her head voice. And everytime they perform it live, when Miku hits that note, the audience goes absolutely NUTS! A few people who have seen it live have said that after Sayanakidori and the audience's reaction Miku has a HUGE smile on her face.

    This was from their acoustic Christmas show they did for the fans. If you want to hear the whole band in an acoustic, they do have "Carthasis" on their official channel that is the whole band. It also has some fun technical parts. Enjoyed and have a good one! Oh and yes, Akane does back up vocals for some of the songs from that concert. Even more surprising, MISA does some backing vocals on two songs (although she doesn't look like real comfortable doing it lol).

    Miku arranged this song for the acoustic session. As you could hear, she stuck to the rhythm guitar, & left all the melody & lead guitar to Misa on the bass. Sublime.
    As to Akane's drums, she is using 'Hotrod' type drumsticks, & an acoustic kit, to soften the sound of the drums in that big room. Plus, she has such a gentle musical touch when she wants to play that softly. And such a sweet voice too. Please react to more from this session.

    Miku in most songs holds down the rhythm baseline . It gives Misa and Akane more freedom to do what they do best . It results in the room for Misas extra (lead) bass runs and Akanes creative fills. Even tho Miku always dreamed of being a singer she saw that her vocals were not suited for lead on the hard rock they were playing. She put ego aside and recruited Saike . Everything that all the Lady's do is for the sake of the bands sound. Its always about what's good for the song. But our little pigeon is really a songbird in disguise . I Love her vocals. Glad you mentioned Akane the drummer., Noticed how she seems to never over power or show off but does enough to make you purr at some of drum fills and additions. MISA and Akane both had a chance to so some backing vocals. during the concert. Both more than capable. But apparently not that keen. Akane was worried of vocally drowning out Miku. I think it was Randy Meisner of The Eagles who just found the high notes at the end of Take It To the Limit too much and in the end couldn't sing it live. Miku in the live rock versions of this song song always gets a cheer with the note. But she admitted to slightly lowering it for this acoustic.

    Miku complained that Akane was giving her "proud parent" looks, because here was Miku being the lead guitar as well as soloist -- and she does a great job. Everyone felt so proud of Miku that day. She has come so far with her guitar work -- both electric and acoustic. No Kanami to fill in the lead guitar parts -- it was all on Miku's shoulders.

    This acoustic concert came out on a live stream sort of for christmas though is was 12/30/2021 and I saw it. They do switch up between with all 5 down to 2 of them. Kanami can shred an acoustic. 14 songs in total and Akane gets off her jazz kit and actually plays a Cajon as well. All of them can actually play a few different instruments and all of them are trained singers, Misa also sings in a couple of these songs. Miku is singing this because she is also the lead for the rock version of this song. They have a few Miku lead songs usually used mid concert for Saiki to get a break because they usually do long sets. Band maid is already one of the most talented group of musicians but they really take it next level to create acoustic versions of rock songs, do it so well these songs stand alone from the rock versions.

I think a lot of us have been in that situation unfortunately (I think my record is 15 or so desperately trying to figure out why it got blocked and I'm still not sure with the mount of stuff I had to rewrite).

    Have you noticed? That Kobato intentionally uses vibrato for high-tone ranges in this acoustic version of SAYONAKIDORI, while she intentionally DOES NOT use it or non vibrato in the electronic version. They don’t repeat the same nor do the same in a song and across the songs. I see their high sprits to music there. What do you think?

    Not sure if she can go highest too. (Kanami?)

    A back-to-back comparison would have been great, but you owe it to yourself to listen to the hard-rocking original to fully appreciate how completely they transformed the song in creating this acoustic version.

    The live stream was shown on 25 Dec 2021 as a Christmas Day gift to fans during Covid and was released as a limited CD for Official Band-Maid Fan Club members in April 2022 after many requests by fans for more acoustic songs. It has completely new arrangements by Kanami of 14 songs. It sold out immediately then re-isued which also sold out. The original studio version on the Unseen World album 2021, has a spoken quote in it from Shakespear's Romeo And Juliet, the title Nightingale is also a reference to play- The genius that is Miku for the lyrics- notice how clean her guitar work is- only playing since 2014. Like most of the songs on the Unseen World album the version is much heavier sounding with a dual solo chords section by Kanami and Miku, which can be seen live on fancam versions from the US recently. Great reaction guys, just lovin' it- subscribed, from the UK.

    Crazy thing is that Band-Maid essentially rewrote 14 of their songs (ie. an entire album) for this one-off acoustic concert. Different chord progressions, grooves, solos, etc. Listen to H-G-K (named after a literal bomb) and try to even visualise an acoustic version.

    When the band started I think they decided to have another singer to balance out Miku's voice, that's how Saiki joined them. I wouldn't want to try taking Misa's electric bass away from her, even in an acoustic environment. I love these stripped down versions of their songs.

    Here I got a crash course in Japanese phonetics for you. For the most part you're getting it right but this should help you figure things out in the future.
    Unlike in English, the pronunciation of vowels never changes in Japanese, and there are no silent vowels. Linguistically, anyway. In practice some stuff gets dropped but you don't need to worry about that for now. Anyway here we go!
    a = ah
    i = ee
    u = ooh
    e = eh
    o = oh
    From there you add consonants. Ka Ki Ku Ke Ko, Ma Mi Mu Me Mo, and so on. For the most part it's pronounced how it's spelled as long as you remember that all vowels get pronounced and are always pronounced the same way.
    Does that make sense?
    Anyway, hope that helps and feel free to hit me up with any basic Japanese questions. I'm not fluent but I can at least get you pointed in the right direction.
    Love these reactions and I'm glad you're enjoying Band Maid!
