Tonight at 8PM EST i'll be continuing my playthrough of Black Myth Wukong! ruclips.net/user/live-mOj8MhXBd4?feature=share
Also make sure to stop by my other gaming & pop culture livestreams every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 7-8PM EST!
Ubisoft pushing narrative that black people was a big deal in Japan during those years, Lol.
@@ArielCleirigh That's not even the point. If I play a game set in Japan, I'd like to play it as a Japanese person. Simple. You don't need to think too much about it.
Not to mention the blatantly false inclusion of homosexual relationships in that period.
The more they call me bigot, the more my wallet gets filled with money
Yup! Vote with your money! 💪
"Get comfortable not owning your games" - Greedy CEOs
"Get comfortable going bankrupt" - Real Gamers
Breaking news! New York Times isn't read by gamers. Witness says gamers call the company "A dinosaur that's out of touch with reality".
Nothing quite like a bunch of people that don't play videogames sharing their opinion about what content should be in the videogames they don't play or pay for.
Does anyone still take the NYT seriously anymore anyway I wonder?
You can't shame to play your game.
"New York Times isn't read by gamers."
Well... That's the point. They're using New York Times to tell the "normal audience" how ist and phob gamers are ^^
Thats why they go there though, to convince general public gamers are toxic, no poibt trying to convince gamers. Think youve missed their tactic here
Ubisoft: Gamers are bigots!
Ubisoft (after the release): Why aren’t people buying our game?
Ubisoft, being mostly run directly or indirectly by women, makes it so easy to call men names. Women have this so easy. I don't know why. They find it easy to collectively call men names and generalize about men. Calling gamers bigots is a by-product of this "culture".
Women suck at developing video games
@@Notj397 maybe stick to their mobile games ? 🤔
W0M3N suck at developing video games
@@KromattNo, they need to find a different hobby. One that doesn't involve video games
The pandering to black people in modern media is just annoying now.
normal intelligent black people hate it, it's so disingenuous and patronizing, they're basically being like "its okay lil guy we will protect you and make sure you are represented"
It's almost offensive how these freaks try to appropriate everything. I'm mexican and everyone I know mocks the latinx shit. It's incredibly tone deaf how all these freaks try to tell us how our language should work lmao
And the pandering to the Crayon Mafia.
In addition to annoying, it’s also insulting their intelligence
Its getting worse. I had an argument on fb with an African American telling me aboriginals are not black because they aren't African American.
Another time I had a white American telling me an African from Africa living in the UK is still classed as an African American.
These people are so lost and have a narrow mindset. Showing them they are wrong in their views makes you a racist.
Keep attacking us, Ubisoft. It's guaranteed to boost your stock price.
Yeah, boosting it as far as fast as they can into the ground.
Also boosts the sales of games. Sadly gamers forget easily and won't simply stop buying from them as a whole
All Ubisoft games are DOA and insulting gamers is just furthermore killing the company.
At this point, I think the CEO is doing it on purpose. Will Ubisoft will go private, mass firings, and new location... maybe Poland.
@@Evil_gumbywhy Poland though.
Do what now? The New York Times, which took 118 YEARS to hire it's first black journalist, is calling gamers racist?
This looks like a fun game. What is the main ethnicity of the ownership, editorial staff and writers?
That make sense, cuz ubi soft is raciest to Asian players, and now they found their mate.
They will take a page from the CEO of Ubisoft and make the Japanese transparent and call all Japanese racist.
Ubisoft is french company. What was you expecting?
They have to build a narrative of 'hate' so they can go to the shareholders when the game flops and say it 'wasn't their fault'.
Didn't think of that angle but it makes sense.
The gamers wanted Shogun. Ubisoft gave us Sho’nuff.
Or Soygun, lol
I can't wait for Ubisoft to go bankrupt!
Then they'll blame gamers that don't play the game just like many of these woke companies do over and over again. They'll never learn.
From "we wuz samurai and shiieeeet" to "we wuz bankruptcy and shiieeeet" in record breaking time
Lmao, so true tho
LOL
Ubisoft and NYT.
The sum of two pathetic companies is still pathetic.
It's the same energy as these Karen's that punch and spit on people they don't like and then immediately play victim.
Remember, you don't hate journalist ENOUGH.
Blackface to replace Japanese game heroes. Then they call those who point out "cultural replacement" the racists.
Ubisoft aka Ubisoy: Gamers should get comfortable not owning our games!
Ubisoft aka Ubisoy (after the release): Why aren’t people buying our game?
I worked with Ubisoft via third party for their market research department back in 2019. They were negligent as hell back then too. Always changing the demographic they wanted, not aware of NA/CA time zone differences. Not even a thank you when the project was finished. Bye, Ubisoft and good luck.
I've never understood the thought process of companies that attack their customers.
Yes, continue to insult the very people you want money from. That always works
Insulting customers is the fastest way to lose customers.
See what happened to Disney in the last years.
Games are being made for people who ain't even gonna play it
Is Ubisoft going to the newspaper to accuse its customers of being "phobic" and still expecting the game to sell? Assassins Creed Shadows is already doomed no matter what they do.
I'm actually so excited to see the aftermath of Assassins creeds release. It's going to be glorious.
Ubi is no longer Ubi. It's been taken over by nut jobs and sick individuals. RIP, the good old Ubi is long gone a long time ago. So sad.
Ubisoft between 2002 and 2007-ish was the most interesting publisher in the industry. Virtually everything they touched became a popular franchise.
They spent much money for bots and new york times 😂
Desperately want their last resort success or the studio will close forever
From Indonesia 🤝
Ubisoft was right! I'm totally used to not owning their games!
Ubisoft's slogan " Giving Gamers What They Don't Want ! "
We should get used to not owning our games, huh?
Well, I hope Ubisoft's employees get used to working at McDonald's.
Attack the people you need to survive......great logic like finally staging an ac in japan and not making it about a Japanese person.
I never understood that. Playing a Japanese guy would have made this AC game a guaranteed money maker.
Attack the purchasers of your game. That'll help sales.
🙄🤦♂️
they can't be wrong, they are the victim .
"You're all bigots! Buy my game."
Awesome marketing pitch strategy right there.
It’s the Disney/Amazon marketing model! All the leftists have been using it regardless of the results.
Bold strategy, Cotton.
It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for 'em
SKIP IDENTIFY POLITICS.
This is less about how awful entertainment companies are, and more how disgustingly horrible the main-stream media is. If Walter Cronkite were alive today he'd go Postal.
It’s odd how businesses and consumers are at war. I mean, they should realize how much they need us. When we’re banding together like this, you’d think they’d understand they can’t win this. Seems like Ubisoft will be the first company to go out of business. Simply because they’re refusing to communicate with their customers.
They think soon we'll have no games to play. I rather replay AC1 then this.
@awdrifter3394 We’ll have PLENTY of games long after they’re gone. We’ll have Nintendo, indie developers, and when it comes to desperate times…EMULATION! We can emulate older games so we’ll still have something to play. These people clearly don’t know the gaming industry.
I can imagine what that conversation between Ubislop and NYT sounded like .... Ubislop crying and sniffling on the phone: "we wanted to make *sniffle* ..make a game. But then the gamers said black people can't be in games, and started attacking us for no reason *sniffle*..."
NYT: "I believe you without question or looking into it at all. We'll write an article won't help in any way."
They always claim harassment with absolutely no proof something that would be easy to prove.
The only thing that can save Ubisoft is the one thing they are attacking.
Ubisoft needs gamers to buy their games and it's just not going to happen with that corporate attitude.
That goes for other developers too. If you want to stay in business then cater to your customers, the gamer, or shut down and find something else to do.
'It's not rocket surgery."
Investors, game journos, or Twitter activists are not going to buy the games.
It's the Gamer.
One of two things are going to happen: Ubisoft finally sees sense, fires all the DEI idiots, cancels AssAssin’s Creed Shadows and promises change, hoping investors will give them another chance. Or they declare administration.
Cannot wait to see which one happens first.
this is Ubisoft, if they had at least half a brain cell, the backlash wouldn't existed
Ubisoft is really making us gamers tempted to refund all their products.
Why didn't they make Yasuke look African if he's supposed to be African? He looks like a black American from Detroit. Moreover, the female lead doesn't look Japanese either. She also looks American of mixed ethnicity.
Because it's not about authenticity. It's about pandering to people who will feel smugly superior about having their America-centric conception of "diversity" reaffirmed.
Could this be it? The end of Ubisoft?
I really hope so. I’m so friggin tired of hearing about them.
do they think I'll buy the game to prove I am not a bigot?
I'd rather be a bigot than an ubi customer
So... now even non-gamers ( maybe investors ) know AC:S is not welcome and is not gonna sell well? Excellent marketing and advertisement!
It blows my mind that the people at ubisoft think that by calling their customers all the bad words in the book they will win anything. The customers that bought their products made them who they are and now when they received some criticisim for their stupid decisions they attack the hand that feed them. What do they think it will happen? They will fall even further. But what do I expect when the company is ran by a bunch of woke regards.
They should remake Frankenstein and have Frankenstein cancel everyone who hates his monster
How is it gamers are bigots but Ubisoft isn’t bigoted against Japanese ppl , what.?
I'm surprised the NY times is still in business lol SMH
Play DEI games get broke prizes
Ubisoft is acting like a crazy girlfriend thinking gamers like that kind of thing IRL...
It's not reverse psychology. It's not a cute tsundere move.
It's biting the hand that feeds you. And I guess they're going to learn to deal with being hungry.
3:20 Let's be accurate here.... they went "woke" by **starring** a black character in 16th century Japan that was extremely xenophobic and, I'm guessing, 99.999% Japanese. Big difference from just "included". Yasuke isn't some NPC quest giver hanging out in Nagasaki, he's the main hero of the story.
Because attacking your possible customer base worked so well for Concord right?!
I won't even buy this on sale now. Congrats, Ubisoft! Can't wait to see your company go bankrupt
How to speedrun bankruptcy: Edition Français.
They need to find an "expert" of the calibre of the "expert" who wrote entries in Wikipedia to support the sales of his own book. And to be quite honest I think it's impossible to tell the difference between criticism and real harassment when dealing with these idiots now.
Can you imagine the amount of money Ubisoft PR managers are spending just to shit on the gamers/consumers that they are supposed to advertise too, at this point it is not even about AC Shadow and there terrible representation of Yasuke, they are just throwing tantrum because we don’t agree with what they believe in
Gaming journos, not satisfied with destroying their own credibility, now pull actual journos into the mix to accelerate their dying credibility too. Classic.
What a great marketing campaign, blame the customer and label them something horrible for not buying your product! This is going to work out so well!
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Boycott this game and never buy a product from Ubisoft ever again, let them rot.
I haven't brought a new game in 10 years. I keep up to date with all things gaming related but nothing interests me.
@@RBFR01 If at least about 60% of men had the same level of respect and discipline as you, my friend, these companies would realize in two seconds what a terrible choice they made when choosing to make games for the alphabet soup and the pseudo-dudes communities.
If we really were... We wouldn't care that they're calling us that. If we're actually not... We won't appreciate being insulted and misrepresented like that. WHO do they say this for? Literally just their own egos? Because it sure doesn't look like enough guilty-minded gamers are buying just to avoid a derogatory label.
Truly pathetic of them - to run to legacy media to cry about "mean gamers" not approving of their bullshit game.
“Whether Yasuke was a samurai is open for debate”
Not when the ENTIRE county your game is based on says otherwise. It’s hilariously ironic how racist it is for game journalists to tell Japan, no you don’t know your own history
And remember, they didn't do it with AssAssIn's Cheeks Chronicles China. Now I dare them to do the same thing with Chinese history then call 'em -ists and -phobes. Suddenly lots of cricket sounds.
Diversity has turned _Shōgun_ into _Sho’nuff_
?!?
_Assassin’s Creed: Swallows_
_Who the massa?: Diversity Edition Interjected_
Wasn't there an Assassin's Creed game where Benjamin Franklin was talking about how much better older women are?
I think the main issue is that they suffer from poor writing and they do not have a story, probably a by-product of shoe horning both main characters and relying on identity politics rather than writing a cohesive meaningful story. Compared with Ghost of Tsushima, where the story is a major feature and focus of the game.
Ubisoft: We've accepted the Worthless $0.00 Stock Challenge!
I still wouldn't buy it
This is the equivalent of the golden child running to mommy and daddy and lying to them about their sibling bullying them when the sibling was just standing up for themself against their abuse.
Not just an African character, but an African-American character that likes hiphop
Ah, I like how Ubisoft went full self destruction mode!
Because attacking the customers has a history of working.
They create something no one wants, then they get mad when the people they work for (which are the actual gamers) speak up they wanna attack.
It happens every time and after the game fails and they look foolish.
It seems that they forgot what the definition of insanity is. And need I remind you, Far Cry 3 is their game, and it's their character, Vaas, who said it.
That would be like Ford attacking people that like driving pickup trucks. Bewildering.
I'm a university educated male who runs his own business and has a family, who just wants to play games for escapism and to relax in his spare time. I don't want to be lectured to by talentless hack activists in an entertainment medium. So I don't play games that clearly have an agenda beyond being entertaining.
Why am I constantly called a racist for this? I remember when that word had value; it was genuinely upsetting to be labelled as a racist. It has now lost all meaning to me, which - while being depressing because it SHOULD have meaning as I deplore actual, literal racists - it's also horrifying because in a societal context if people eye roll at that label it means racism becomes more acceptable, which is the opposite of what activists should want.
Welcome to leftists where literally everything they say and do makes no sense.
"Japanese are racists!" - May 2024, UBI Fans
"Gamers are racists." - September 2024, NY Times.
Meanwhile, trying to cope with Wukong's success:
"Chinese nationalists and GamerGate" - July 2024, one of those shite sites.
Whatever happened to treating your customers with respect? They seriously think they don't need us to keep their doors open especially Ubisoft since they are having very fun times with their investors.
Also, if Yasuke was a bodyguard, he was a real shitty one, lost duals and got Nobunaga killed ran to his son and the son ended up getting killed too. They didn't kill Yasuke because they didn't see him worthy enough to get killed so they took him back to the jesuits to be a slave somewhere else.
Ubisoft by releasing Shadows, they have abandoned the entire Japanese market. Doing this kind of crap also showed Ubisoft is the real racist against the Japanese especially. Time to short Ubisoft stock.
It can't get much shorter
Ive never understood the anger from games journalist towards the customer base if they used half that energy making a good articles omg things would be so great. Journalist should be impartial not activists.
you know what would be funny. this game comes out, flops, but Ghost of Tsushima numbers of players skyrockets in the week and moth AC shadows comes out
Ubisoft: whaaa listen to what they're saying about my game😭😭
Desperation, that means we're only 1 step away from begging. This game is going to crash and burn. And so will the company. Keep the wallets closed, gamers.
They really are too stupid and too arrogant to realize this is anti-marketing. Ubislop can't go under fast enough.
They talked to The NY Times because they knew their critics wouldn't pay for the slop that's published there. Ubisoft isn't interested in discourse, only virtue signaling.
Past: Customer is God.
Present: You're bigot.
Breaking. New York. Company answers question none of their customers asked. Blames them for not asking question.
Garage Sale. 9am Saturday. Everything must go. No early birds.
i actually havent boughten many new games over the last 10 years, currently i just play an offline private server for vanilla WoW with bots and im perfectly content with that. Goodbye Ubisoft.
I don't care if he was a retainer or a samurai. In today's context where companies are drowning in dei, you can't tell me that the selection of a black character to represent the culture of the most homogeneous country of the world is a random choice. It's deliberate, it shows underlying political motives and they should stop thinking we're so dumb.
It still boggles my mind how they think attacking the customer base will sell more copies of the game.
Urinalists: the developers were receiving death threats.
Source: trust me bro
Game over, the NYT are here, Game over.
The hip hop combat music really got me
They always claim racism but they never show receipts and they call the fans trolls. We are just FANS. I'm done I'm f****** done with them all.
Rip ubislop you will not be missed
Man, didn’t they learn anything from Bud Light?
its very simple. When you make an assassins creed game take place in samurai era Japan, you make the player a legendary samurai. Not a retainer that nobody knew existed that you picked only because of his skin color, then you didn't research Japan or Africa, because everything about Japan is wrong, and Yasuke acts way more like an American than he does an African from the 1500s.
If they wanted to check boxes they could have gone with Tomoe Gozen an actual samurai.
"Could I be out of touch?... No, surely it's the children that are wrong."
"Let's get gamers to buy our game by publicly and stridently calling them ists and phobes!"
It's a bold move, Cotton...
Attacking or trying to shame or calling gamers names is NOT gonna get ANY of us to buy their games or watch their shows.
Oh no the NY times with the pulse of gamers worldwide.
Gamers: 😂😂 Wait you're Serious? Let us all Laugh Harder 🤣
Even if Ubisoft's attacks on players had any merit, that won't help the game sell any more copies lol It's not like a bunch of non-gamers who read the NYT are going to go out and support Ubisoft's games
They lie to their stakeholders, they ignore feedback, they accuse and gaslight their fanbase, then they wonder why everyone hates them.
