    I am a 5" 11 adult. When I started this i was 192 pounds. By today I competed 2 weeks. Lost 10 pounds already. I am not controlling much on my one meal. I eat whatever I want. My appetite and the quantity i eat greatly reduced after the 3rd day. I take my meal exactly at 7.30 pm and be done with it in 30 mins. OMAD is truly revolutionary. I am very focused on my work too. Don't feel sleepy in the evening anymore.
    Thanks for the right guidance. I wouldn't have started this if it wasn't for you.

    this is a great way to not just lose weight. but with your blood sugar levels stable. you become very picky about what you eat because you become more attuned to how your body reacts to food.

    One of the things you have said that really helps me is that you must give your pancreas nothing to do for 23 hours. That really helps remind me that I can have only 0 calorie liquids during the fast.

      Hi Kelly, well this is end of day two and it's been pretty difficult. I have to use breathing and positive-soothing self talk during the day to keep going. By the time work ends I'm so sick of drinking water and tea lol! Last night and today for dinner, I was very hungry but ended up only eating half of what I normally eat but I feel stuffed-so that's weird. At one point today, I wanted to crawl under my desk, squish myself (as best I could) into a ball and cry like a baby. I also weighed myself today and I'm at 309. You should definitely try it. I'm going to give it the six weeks at least. I have only told my hubby about the plan and while he supports me, I can't really talk to him about it because he doesn't get it. So I'm look looking for a support group.

    I am a new subscriber. I like your brutally honest straight forward attitude.
    I want to lose about 25 pounds permanently. It's been pretty challenging. I am 58, 5'3" woman. Right now I am doing KETO OMAD. I did it 10 days so far. Lost about 5 Lb.
    It is a good loss but I don't want to eat fatty food all the time any more. It makes me feel grossed out.
    I am finding your approach appealing to me. It's more natural way to eat. Eat everything but just one normal sized meal. I can do that.
    I checked out bunch of your videos. They are very helpful. Thank you!

    I love that you refer to it as a splurge day. Calling it a cheat day makes it feel like something you should be ashamed of. Splurging is when you treat yourself for a job well done. Funny enough, about every 2 weeks is when I start missing having omelettes and pancakes. This gives me a chance to treat myself every once in a while, making it all more sustainable.
    Your approach is great, btw. real talk. Thank you so much!!

      Also, my daughter was the reason I quit smoking AND am using OMAD to fix myself. I’ve failed so many times, but having someone special to live for?... That made it effortless. When I feel like I can’t do it, I remember that I don’t want her to grow up without a daddy. Also, for purely selfish reasons, I want to stay alive and feel great, but she’s the best motivation I’ve ever had. ❤️

    I lost 18 pounds in a week and half. I started at 268 5"7 and I'm down to 250. Some days I don't eat and others days I eat two yogurts, 1apple, and a can of tuna. I'm not very active but I still lose weight and my muscle mass is actually going up. This diet is working for me and I'm going to stick to it. After 3 days of really low calories like 500 a day, Ill go to souplantation and pig out on salads and than i go back to under 500. Everyday i have lost a minimum of a pound of fat a day. I would wish you all good luck on the fat loss, but you don't need luck. Just stop eating and your body will eat its own fat.

    When I was loosing weight 13 years ago with very hard exercise and very strict diet and lost about 90 pounds in a few months... I would use the "Splurge" only as a reward. For example...after loosing another 5 or 10 pounds. Sometimes just a week was enough to get to the target weight but sometimes it took up to 3 weeks.Targets used to be different, but I would loose to my target weight and only then I would reward myself with anything I liked to eat/drink with only one rule in mind. Whatever those things were...they had to be eaten/drunk in one sitting. Period. It was so hard to let go that left over pizza and that can of pepsi BUT... discipline is the key to reach ANY goal. So...when you are breaking a discipline...that has to be done in a very disciplined way.

    I do OMAD. 1 month now. 1 plate, once a day, within 1-hr. I eat reasonably healthy--little junk. But I have to have a lot of fat, otherwise I'm ravenous before I get through 23 hours. I feel better but am not losing any weight. My clothes are as tight as ever. And I'm becoming very discouraged--especially when I have to consider restricting myself even more. I don't want to eat animal products. I stick to whole grains, legumes, vegetables, little fruit. I eat daily between 5PM and 6PM. I exercise daily, 30-40 minutes, moderate activities. The fat keeps me full and makes OMAD doable for me. If I have to cut back significantly to lose weight, it won't work for me. One day in April I experimented with a lower fat meal. It was a disaster. Within 7 hours I was up eating a second meal. The only way I can do OMAD is with very high fat meals. What do I do next?

    Kinobody recommends exercising, specifically resistance training, to maintain the muscle you have while cutting weight. I'm 5'7" 158 24 male, I have only about 15, MAYBE 20lbs of PURE fat to lose. If i lost 20 lbs in the next 3-4 months I would hope 80% of that is fat. Kinobody recommends resistance training to ensure that the majority of weight lost IS fat and not muscle. What're your thoughts? I think you got into Intermittent fasting via kinobody right?

    This is VERY helpful information. Thank you. I've been doing OMAD for 11 weeks and am down 17.8 pounds with anywhere from .2 or .6 lbs lost a week. I was not sure what to expect. My High Blood pressure is also going down. I think my expectations were based on my past Weight Watcher results, which seem very different from this type of weight loss. I could lose 2 - 7 lbs a week (sometimes only .4 or less) when I was focused on the WW plan. It was just not sustainable for me. WW seems like it is surface fat where this actually seems to be somehow getting to the actual fat that has been stored. Apple Cider Vinegar seems to make a difference as well, at first I did not do it and finally mixed it with crystal light cherry pomegranate which masks the ACV well. I appreciate this channel - just knowing that this is a real and sustainable option gives me a lot of hope for my longevity with it. Thanks again.

I eat 900-1000 calories easily in OMAD. I eat once a week in restaurant and normal eating (two meals) on weekend completely wipe out my OMAD progress. Any advice?
    I know that OMAD with 600-700 calories everyday might work but it’s just not possible for me... too hungry

    I lost 10lbs the first week, then saw a stall on the scale (I was weighing myself every day). So I stepped away from the scale for 4 days and found I lost another 5lbs. Weighing yourself daily is probably the worst thing you can do when measuring your progress.

    so do you believe for a nurse its not optimal to do an OMAD diet because of their shifts?

    • @OMADRevolution
      @OMADRevolution  8 лет назад +3

      No, it's great for a nurse (and most people). But shift work is not optimal for the body, so it may affect losses overall. Try to group shifts by type; so, for instance, work PM and overnights, but not mornings. Or else work one shift for about half a year and then switch so that it's not so often a challenge for the body to adjust.

      @OMADRevolution  8 лет назад

      WAY TO GO, my friend! Way to go! Gout, no. I believe the condition is genetic. I know one other OMADer who mentioned it. I guess it's worth looking into some natural solutions for it.

    • @vtshadow314
      @vtshadow314 8 лет назад +1

      With Trial and error I have learned the best way to resolve gout is with hydration and Simple Baking Soda.(Sodium Bicarbonate)"Arm and Hammer". That does the least damage to your body. If you use Brags Apple cider vinegar, or anything acidic to lower acidity, you are damaging your Skeletal system due to how the body buffers acid. It takes Calcium Carbonate straight from your bones to buffer the acid out. So its better to attack the problem head on. Use an acid buffer in a box. lol. I have used it to keep my pH Up for years. A lot of women with osteoporosis don't realize it, but they did it to themselves with High acidity in their body. If they keep the acidity out, they wont destroy their skeletons trying to neutralize it.

      Look up Dr. Jason Fung on youtube or google. Check out his book "The Complete Guide to Fasting" as well. His expertise is fasting similar to this for diabetics.

    I tried the Intermetten or whatever. I noticed I was sleepy after my meal couldn't keep my eyes open. Why is that?

    • @OMADRevolution
      @OMADRevolution  8 лет назад +1

      Well, how are your sugar levels? If you are eating until you are stuffed, then your sugars would be unusually topped off, which can make you sleepy. Follow the one-plate rule and see if you have the same results. If you do, try it with a lower glycemic food palette and check again. You'll adjust.

      I would eat until stuffed because of obvious hunger. I would eat carbs, like gluten free bread and stuff. I don't know anything about sugar levels though.

    • @FB-mw5gv
      @FB-mw5gv 7 лет назад

      Your carbs from the bread would turn into sugar/insulin. That's why your sleepy because your body is basically running on back up fuel. Carbs like that when eaten actually turn into sugar/insulin. Like a bag of chips might say it had 28g carbs and 1g sugar which it does but when you eat does unnatural carbs it turns to sugar and they don't tell you on the label unfortunately.

    I've been doing Omad for months. But I also drink smoothies in the morning and night.

      Tracy's Kitchen and Appalachian Adventures Smoothies count as meals because they will cause insulin spikes. You are eating 3 meals if you are consuming smoothies morning and night....

    • @lizanne2504
      @lizanne2504 7 лет назад +3

      Tracy, you are not doing OMAD if you consume anything at all caloriewise, during the day. Water or herbal tea is O.K. other than that, if you take smoothies, you are eating!!

    • @tracyskitchenandappalachia2954
      @tracyskitchenandappalachia2954 7 лет назад

      lizanne i have a different interpretation. One can spread out the OMAD over 3-4 time periods. I think going w/o food for 23 hours would be too stressful for me. I don't consider smoothies a meal. They consist of fruit/veg oatmeal, almonds, herbs, and almond milk. The smoothies keep me out of the hospital, give me an energy boost, and enable me to walk several miles 5 days per week. Whatever works!🙄

      Tracy's Kitchen and Appalachian Adventures chill. OMAD literally stands for “one meal a day” You are not doing omad, you’re just eating less 😒🙄🙄🙄

    can you drink alcohol at all? I had breakfast only for 3 days it's been easy for me but I would love to have a drink at night.

    • @OMADRevolution
      @OMADRevolution  8 лет назад +1

      You can have it with the meal. It depends on your goal and how much you have to lose, and also how often you do it. But generally, if you are really serious, then no. No alcohol.

      Fasting means literally fasting: no callories allowed.Dates are packed with sugars- they even make you hungrier. Have no callories drink instead and tell yourself: food can wait till my window opens.
