I love that idea too - and it works! People always smile when they see me out and about in colourful vintage clothes. Thank you so much for watching and encouraging ❤️
Thank you for inviting me to be a part of this fabulous video. It must have taken ages to match up the images with everyone so accurately. I feel quite honoured to be in such stylish company ❤
Ah you’re a style queen yourself and totally belong in 1940 Vogue. In fact your style was absolutely perfect for Vogue at this time. Thank you so much for joining in! ❤️
Samantha , this was a real "Christmas edition" of your channel! Thank you so much to let me meet all my friends and being as much on point as usual! Love it ❤
Thank you very much Josephine. And thank you for getting that it was rather ‘a Christmas Special’. It felt the right time to make this video. Once I’ve recovered from the editing I might do a 30s edition. I’ll have my eye on you and your dresses!!! Thank you too for taking part ❤️
What a beautiful video Samatha! I can see the amount of work you did, matching the vogue patterns perfectly with all the beautiful and talented ladies you included in your video! You did a fantastic job and thank you for always bringing us knowledge and inspiration! ❤❤😍😍
Thank you very much Arietta! It turned into my most massive editing project ever! I saw another typo when I was about to upload and pressed upload anyway - I couldn’t look at a screen any longer. Sure you know the feeling! But it was very inspiring looking all week at the glorious outfits put together by the wonderful vintage community ❤️❤️😘
Oh Katrine, that’s so kind of you. Thank you very much 🌺 I was delighted that you were happy for me to include you. Wishing you a very Happy Christmas ❤️🎄❤️
Oh I’m so pleased you enjoyed it 💕 It’s been popular and people seemed to like taking part so I will do more. After all there’s no end to glamour in our vintage community! Thank you so much for watching and encouraging 💖🎀
Fantastic!! So well put together, Samantha 🌟 I think you've managed to find outfits, worn by these stunning beauties 😉, to match up with every illustration in the Vogue book! More like this please 😃 bringing vintage fashion to life!! ❤❤❤❤
I’m so pleased you enjoyed the video. There were indeed some stunning beauties in it. I thought the lady in red with the dress clips especially was a bit of a looker! Will definitely think of more ideas for bringing vintage fashions to life. And thank you for your support 😁❤️❤️❤️
Thank you very much. It makes such a difference getting positive comments like yours! You’re right about the vintage community - they keep these beautiful clothes maintained while at the same time enthusing others about them.
Fabulous job! I can’t imagine the time and effort it took to put this together. So many talented fashionable ladies! I feel inspired to up my 1940s wardrobe and accessories.
Thank you very much. Yes, the editing did feel a little overwhelming at times! But there are worse things to be editing than everyone looking so fabulous and inspiring in their wonderful outfits. When I’ve recovered from this edit I’m thinking the 30s … so you know you’ll be hearing from me!! 💗
Oh my goodness, it was so lovely to see so many familiar faces, what a beautiful array of outfits. Hope you and your gorgeous fur pups have the most amazing Christmas and Happy New Year. I am so looking forward to 2024 as lots of changes ahead for me. xxxx
It’s no good saying ‘lots of changes ahead for me’ to someone as naturally curious / nosy as me. I’m longing to know what?! 😆 Thank you very much for watching and likewise a Happy Christmas and New Year to you and your pups too! ❤️🎄xxx
I’ve always loved the name Marguerite. Clothes from this era weren’t always treasured. People have told me of 30s dresses being thrown into skips. Too awful. It’s wonderful to know people who love these clothes today. I’m working on a video with the vintage community showcasing winter 1930s fashion at the moment, which hopefully you might enjoy too! Thank you for your encouragement.
My Aunt Marguerite and Uncle Howard married later in life, so it was just the two of them. They lived next door to us in this totally retro 1950's house he had built for her. She wore these lovely floaty day dresses with beautiful starburst pins. He wore fedora hats, always with lovely suit jackets. I would sit and watch old movies with her. It was heaven and yes I still watch Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart. But I must say I am encouraged by the amazing outfits in your video. Thank you again for in inspiration. Best Regards Ash. @@Samanthalovestosew
@@asheraucoin They sound a truly elegant couple and an inspiration to have in your childhood. I grew up watching those movies from the golden era of Hollywood and I still love them!
You made such a wonderful video, dear Samantha ❤️ It was a joy to watch and thank you so much for letting me be a little part of it! 🤗 I really love this idea of bringing the catalogue to life by showing all these wonderful ladies of the vintage community.
Thank you very much Anja! I will do it again, certainly for the 30s. And be more organised about giving advance warning. I did this rather on impulse. (So look out for anything 30s over the next few weeks 😉) 💕💕💕
Wonderful video Samantha. What a lot of work and attention to detail you put into this. I'll certainly be watching again for inspiration and will definitely be making some of the items you showcased by these incredibly stylish ladies. Thank you for asking me to be part of it xxx
Thank you very much Linda ❤️ And thank you for being a part of it. And I know you appreciate how long video editing takes. This was a monster edit! At the same time I inspired myself too by looking at all the wonderful outfits, including your beautiful makes. Happy Christmas ❤️🎄xxx
I think the 1940's and 50's was a wonderful time for female fashion and dare I say male spectators. I would never suggest the clothes were an enhancement more a magnification of beautiful ladies. I am lucky enough to know a few of the ladies you featured in your video all very lovely people and I think in most instances, correct me if I am wrong, these fashions are a lifestyle to them. I know how passionate you are. I am so glad these vintage fashions live on today in the 2020's because they are stunning to see and, to me, so much more interesting. Well done for producing another great video, I know your week hasn't been without incident. Well done also for being able to say the word "femininity" which I sometimes have difficulty in saying. Finally I want to remind you, as I do every week, how lovely you are, how talented you are, how kind you are and how beautiful and elegant you are. I have never felt obliged to respond to any of your posts here or on Insta. Done of my own free will and often a welcome distraction, break and addition to my life.
What a lovely message and one I will treasure over Christmas. Yes I think you’re right, vintage clothes are a lifestyle. Once you choose to wear them you put yourself outside mainstream society. Also the clothes are beautiful elderly ladies that are fragile and need a lot of care. You have to love them. And I think there is therefore a sense of comraderie in the vintage community because it means a lot to find like-minded souls. Of which you are very much one. Thank you Ian.
Everyone looks so lovely. Beautiful fashion and beautiful ladies. I need to learn to accessorize like everyone in these photos. It really makes their outfits look amazing. Thank you for sharing!
It’s the accessories isn’t it Laura?! That’s what I think when I look at the amazing ensembles of Mars and Olivia (soft_hit) … must think about my accessories!! 😄💗
Thank you so much Samantha for doing the work of putting this together, and always sharing your expertise on what the styles were about…so lovely and inspirational to see, so feminine, chic, so pit together, and the color pairings…I would love to actually dress this way. ❤ wishing you season’s greetings ❤ 15:43
It’s wonderful to meet these ladies and see that they truly look just as beautifully styled, creative and colourful as they do in their photos. We were asked in a cafe if we were appearing in a film (I’m sure they thought ‘costume drama’!) Thank you so much for watching and encouraging us all. Happy Christmas to you too. ❤️🎄

I’m so pleased you like the video Lenore. Yes, it took hours and hours, and I got things mixed up and bits repeating. I was 😵💫 But I wanted to do justice to everyone’s wonderful creativity. I’m not sure I did but there’s a limit to what can be accomplished in a week so I just had to draw the line! I do want to say that your unwavering support since the start of my channel has meant more than you can know. There are times I would have definitely given up were it not for the few of you that kept cheering me on. I hope you and your loved ones have a very Happy Christmas too. Love Samantha xx
