Absolutely great to see you out on such a machine, Mark. Mixing reviews of current bikes, intersperced with nuggets like this, really balances the already great content your site provides. I hope you continue to do this in the future. As for the bike, nothing more needs to be said. I had a 2005 CBR 954 F/blade, and it was, on reflection, the best bike I've ever owned. No power settings. No ABS. No traction control. Nothing to mollycoddle me. Just the application of common sense, a judicious use of throttle and using those things called eyes. The result? A superlative ride everytime. 😊
I have one of these, in the 20th anniversary colors, bought used with 17k kms. It has proper Honda build quality from every angle. With my build it gets nice and comfortable above 140 km/h, nice weight on the handles. My next bike down is at 60 hp so this thing is a ROCKET! Sharp geometry + crappy roads and very powerful brakes w/o ABS, it keeps you on your toes. I hope I am not getting too old for this...
Beautiful. But I'm too old to be dribbling on the fuel cap, so make do with a CB1000R. Has a detuned version of the same engine, I believe. Who said that litre bikes were unnecessary? I look forward to the review of this beast.
I owned a 2011 one of these in Repsol colours for 8.5 years. Only sold it as desided it was finally time to get something better for confort and touring after doing a tour of France on my blade! Brilliant bikes
looking forward to the full review of this, and many other bikes of the "older" generation ... with the ever increasing cost of new bikes, most are out of reach, so more of us are considering the used market ... having someone like yourself reviewing such bikes is much appreciated 👍
Hi Mark, this is a beast back from when Honda still knew how to make great motorcycles. By the way, do you still have that sweet Honda CBR600F3 in your collection? Cheers
@@markpulling12 Maybe you can entertain us, wherever and if possible, with your personal collection of bikes, that would be a great video. thank you, all my best, sir
Cracking machine, looked like you were really enjoying yourself Mark, the video made a nice break from your usual stuff, some good camera angles, I look forward to your thoughts in the review 👍
Nice video, but I'm glad I enjoyed this type of bike in the late 80s. With today's shite roads, shite drivers and speed cameras everywhere it kinda takes the fun out of having a blast.
Hi Alex ... handling about equal ..the electronic steering damper is great 👍 brakes awesome but the abs can be troublesome on these ..more power and grunt throughout but you only really notice that when fully pinned ...I had the 954 years ago ...I'd say all round the 954 is the best :) Speak soon :)
@@markpulling12 the engine lives on in the cb1000r so had a run of about 20 years… absolutely bomb proof. Only known weakness is the stator and reg/rec, takes about 20 minutes to change them and kits available for about £80. Other than that… it’s a Honda. Enjoy!
Yes incredible bikes ...makes a lot of sense....save ££££ on the latest ones ....if anything this engine is better on the road Amazing linear power Cheers mark
This is when Hondas deserved their reputation.the build quality was superb, sadly I dont think their build is any good now. Had a 929 back in the day but need a winch to get on and off now. Sound purchasesthese.who needs bmw a Et al electronic wizardry. This is pure motorcycling
