Well I absolutely love my Zero 2''s - even without fancy cables , tips , and a carrying case it's still one of the most balanced budget IEM I've yet heard . I didn't have a lot of faith when I ordered them having been relativity disappointed with the original Zero's as well as KBear KS2's , MoonDrop Chu 2's , - all of which I returned . I was pleasantly surprised like I said at the balance displayed by the Zero 2's - I think 7z ( Linsoul ? ) really nailed it with these . And as far as accessories these are actually worthy of sinking a few extra dollars into quite honestly .
I heard they are more focused on bass than the original (which claimed to be focused on treble) Which one is actually more balanced? The original Zero or this Zero 2?
@@tristan_840 well I had them both and sent the OG's back . To me the Zero 2's sounded " balanced " ( like Goldilocks porridge lol ) and if I remember correctly the OG's sounded a little thin and shrill to me .
I do have to say though, even if you are correct about them and didn't receive a faulty pair, they are a significant upgrade to a 50$ pair from 2014-2015 (Sennheiser CX 300-II)
The cable is absolutely fine. What’s actually wrong with it? The angled connectors are important for comfort. I actually tried the Zonie cables on these and went back to stock because the fancy ones had heavy connectors.
Don't you call yourself "Scientific Audiophile"? So you should have seen the distortion measurements of ASR. Even at a SPL of 114dB, what is deafening loud on the longer term, the distortion is stunningly low. So please stop spreading misinformation. Thanks.
@@scientificaudiophile so maybe you got a faulty pair. But you make a general claim, which is just not true. You should file for a replacement. Or maybe the supposed distortion is just imagined.
I seriously doubt there is actual distortion usually with headphones/iems it’s abundantly clear if they work correctly or not. it’s probably just a peak he’s hearing that gets amplified
I don't think SA Poo Pooed these badly. His main concern is the length of the cable which may or may not be an issue.. He said the sound quality was excellent... What's the issue??
I bought the Truthear Reds and they were way to big for my small ears. They hurt like crazy and wouldn't go into my ear. I've been trying to find something that would fit without pain for a few months now. I was hoping this might be a good choice but it seems I should keep looking.
I’ve got a review of the Westone Pro X 30’s coming out soon. They fit very flush and better than any iem I’ve tested before. They are expensive at $399 and have a very different sound signature.
The Truthear Zero Red cost 55€ → Aliexpress The 7hz Salnote Zero 2 cost 27€ → Aliexpress I do not know if it's the same in all regions of the world but just to illustrate in my region the price 2 times more expensive. ^^
Of course I already have a spare premium cable (Moondrop Line K) and Devinus Velvet and an extra case lying around, so I ordered these today from Amazon Prime and they're due to arrive tomorrow. I think they'll be a great set to take to the gym and coffee shop. I also have quality PEQ (Morphit on USB Audio Player Pro), so they shoud fit right into my collection.

@@wintrydeath For $25 they're definitely worth it. I just wish they had more bass, but that I can solve with dac/amp which I should have anyway. However eartips are really bad imo, but I don't have much experience with iems.
i just got them and good lord...never seen such a bad cable and the tips dont make the deal any better. bad price compared to the low end moondrops like the Chu 2. not even mentioning the build quality and that the better IEM cost me 19 with a case compared to 22 for the zero 2 and that rubbish it came with both IEM give me a decent sound, dont get me wrong...but the chu 2 never made any sound that seemed kind of "rattling" (QC lottery?) and are the way better deal, seem to last longer while being far more ergonomic imo. oh crinacle ...
i guess i fixed the issues i had with the Zero 2. ergo is much better with a pair of the tips that came with the Chu 2...it gives a few more millimeters from the edge of the IEM to the edge of the tip...moondrops rubber canal in the tip is noticeably longer and that is just enough for the zero 2 to go and stay deep enough in m ear canal. sound is better for my taste aswell. i also use the stock cable from the Chu 2. i like the sound signature as it is now...i mean...compared to 300+ Bose QC35II for example its more capable for a tiny fraction.
Why not upgrade the jacket (we saw that same jacket enough timers), when at it, try a more face freindly glasses, (All round emphasizes the already round face).
If you can get me a jacket for no cost, I'll change it. Since the jacket only cost me a bottle of Mad Dog 20 20, and I spend every penny on audio products, I have nothing left. I'm an audiophile.
Matching my jacket isn't a good thing. I've got a video I'm uploading tomorrow about a pair of speakers that match my jacket and I'm suing the manufacturer.
I just got these today. Haven't listened to them that much yet, maybe 45 min., I thought they sounded ok, but they lack a lot of detail, not that I was expecting Hifiman type detail, but the mids and treble aren't that great, either, the bass is good, yes. Still, I have ZS10Pros and ZST IEMS and both of those sound far superior to these. I will give them more burn in time, though. I'm more of an over the ear headphone guy, anyway, than IEMs. I think a lot of the collab. hype is just that, hype. I'm running all of this through a Fiio X1 player and an IFI XCan amp. I think I'm more turned on by the design of the Zero:2s than the actual sound thus far. Which is not a good thing, as much as i love good design. The thing is....when I plug my Hifiman HE400SEs in, I know that I spent the $110 well, and they always sound great. It's not hype, even though ok, they're not $4000 Hifimans or Audezes.
Live podcasting at sporting events. We use the original Zeros for talent IEM to hear the mix. It's just vocals so the tuning of the og Zeros is preferred over the Zero 2.
