Do not use acrylic spray sealer, varnish, or lacquer on this. It will not last. Only use dishwasher safe Mod Podge. Do not bake it. It may release toxic fumes into your oven. Do not put anything closer than 1/2 inch from the top rim (sip line) on mugs. It is toxic. Do not put this on eating surfaces of plates. It is toxic. Do not use in microwave. Heat a beverage in another container and transfer it to this one. When finished it will be dishwasher top shelf safe (if coated with dishwasher safe Mod Podge).
Thanks for the video. You have an artistic touch really. Do you think colors will never fade out by time? What if we used any kind of transparent protective coatings? any idea about this. Thx again.
Thanks for sharing this video I can't wait to try it! When you apply the varnish do you paint the entire mug or just the surface area with polish on it? - thanks!
+Jessica Flowerpower oh I forgot to mention that Krylon is a brand. Any place you can find spray paint you should be able to find the clear coat spray, or ask to get it ordered in for you. And no problem, im happy to help :)
+X1xSakuraYukkix7X ive also heard that baking them in the oven at a low heat for a while works. But i havent tried that myself yet so you may want to look around for instructions on that...
I tried this and it didn't try out right the nail polish got lumps in it and it was sticky. I used warm water and I tried working fast on one mug and slow on another. I tried using expensive nail polish on one mug and cheap nail polish on another but didn't have luck with either. Any tips on what I could be doing wrong? thank you :)
dscrims do you have fans on? Air flow could be drying it to fast, also I found problems with polishes that are quick drying, or have hardeners in them. I'm just learning tho
+Danelle Malchus You can use them as long as you keep the polish and varnish away from the place where you drink from and not put it in the dishwasher or macro wave.

Ive watched 3 tutorials of this and your'e the first person to put legit tips especially about sealant TYVM!
Kim Smith can I use regular mod podge and don't put it in the dishwasher?
Ugh and I just bought ceramic sealant from Hobby Lobby.
So if so o o toxic, does one keel over & die if one puts painted nails into mouth to say, lick off ice cream?
FUCK SERIOUS?? OMG NO I PUT IT IN THE OVEN FOR 25 MINUTES?? WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO?? HELPPPP
The mugs turned out great. I tried this on canvas to make a marbled ocean seascape, it turned out awesome! thanks for the vid
This is awesome I tried it on a plate and it worked out awesome thanks do more
kitchen roll and cocktail sticks that's so cute (I'm American, we call them paper towels and toothpicks)
I used easy marble paints, let dry then mod podge over 2 times. Tape the top so nothing gets on mouth
you can use them it s fine maybe after a few washes they could need redoing , but if you have got any inside the mug remove it with the nail remover .
Beautiful
Can this be done on plastic pots?
I think they are both lovely 👊
What is the temp of the water?
I did it and it worked great. I don't know if I should do this to my plates and bowls too?
Would like to ask , can you wash it will the nail polish come off? Do you spray it with Something?
Outstanding 👍
so hold on! Most videos r saying MUST bake & put sealant on if u want it to last. U don't think there's something like that already on it
Thanks for the video. You have an artistic touch really. Do you think colors will never fade out by time? What if we used any kind of transparent protective coatings? any idea about this. Thx again.
Thank you!
You can use an acrylic seal/varnish that you can buy in a craft shop.
will the nail polish come off if i wash it by hand? with just dish soap and water?
I see them say seal it with dishwasher safe mod podge.
Does anyone if it has to be a certain temperature?
Thanks for sharing this video I can't wait to try it!
When you apply the varnish do you paint the entire mug or just the surface area with polish on it? - thanks!
Just the surface where you've the polish. :D
Thank You!! :D

These are beautiful, but how do you get rid of that nail polish smell?
Once the polish and varnish fully dries the smell will disappear eventually.
How do u protect it
love your mugs!
Thank you!! 😆
what do you use after the mugs dry? Is it a acrylic sealant spray?
+Masila Rrumbullaku Yes you can use that after the mugs have dried.
hi, may i know which brand of nail polishes you used for this video?
+Esther Soo I think It was "Beauty UK"
This was really helpful for me since I don't have a job and still like getting my friends gifts. Thank you
How do I secure the polish so it's washable?
I'd like to make some of these for gifts.
I'd suggest getting a clear coat sealant to spray the mug with when you're done. Kylon has some clear coat sprays you can get.
+X1xSakuraYukkix7X Thankyou. I'm not sure of that place you mentioned, I'm in Australia but I'll definitely have a look for that spray at Spotlight.

Cheesy-LPS Thank you! Yes I've a playlist of them >> ruclips.net/p/PLEgNq84C3Qrylg7GeTf2rHjkjpyYUGuPs
Nais Polish?? I use porcelaibe paint. But perhaps that is too thick to put in water
+MissStaleyHere Yeah nail polish is more flexible. 😊
it looks like a flower
Funny enough I thought that as well! 😁
if you wash it will the nail polish come off?
+Aylin Payen No not if you wash by hand only and you can't put it in the dishwasher.

You can drink from them as long as you don't put the polish and varnish anywhere near the area where you drink from.
