  • Vw amarok came in with a complaint of lack of power, going into limp mode, and a glow plug warning light on the dash. The fault codes were scanned with VCDS, multiple codes were stored in the engine ECU. They all pointed towards sensors with 5 volt references, and even a fault for the voltage reference B - the 5v reference all the sensors used. Checking through the wiring diagrams confirmed this. However, the vehicle wasn't now in limp mode and was performing fine. All the sensors logging codes were checked for their respective 5v reference and all was good. I then removed the top of the EGR valve and found water ingress and heavy corrosion on all the electrical contacts. This was found to be the cause of the 5v reference problem, and in would have been shorting it to ground through the water/corrosion on the contacts.

    Hello,
Is this the EGR valve that’s after the throttle body or the EGR valve at the exhaust cooler?

Hi mate, I know this is an old video, but I was having an intermittent egr fault, the check engine light would come on but no change in drivability. I removed the case like you did, abs found oil inside it, they're not supposed to have any oil in them are they?

have you ever done this before to a 3.0 tdi? I'm having a problem with my q7 code P0046 i just want to know if I have to replace the actuator or the whole turbo

If you buy just the actuator, you need an audi special tool to be able to do the calibration of the actuator. That's the only way so you'd have to take it to an audi dealer.

      Or replace the turbo
