Not sure about 2011 models but my 2015 does not require displacement of the pipes shown in this video. Also the drain plug is 19mm.
Castrol Edge 5W/30 LL synthetic or the equivalent is best used in these high performing bi-turbo Diesel engines.

Same here but this presentation is very useful and well presented. The tooling sizes differ but the important aspect of location and removal are well presented. Great clip I think.

    That is the right oil
Says on the label VW 504 00/507 00
It matches what’s in the manual 👍

That's the oil I use in my Amarok, it clearly states that it meets VW 507 spec on the front, which is the oil recommended in the manual.

I have the same car, you dont need to loosen the philipshead screwes on the pipe, just remove the v-band clamp and give it a nudge and bend it so you can get the filter out:)

Cheers for the video man. Have you done the fuel filter on your Amarok? I’m just worried about priming the fuel lines after I change it.

I didnt need to move the stainless EGR tube on my 2014 to get the oil filter out, also I recommend taking the bash plate off once, lose the sump plug permanently, I had a spare brass tap/valve fitting that went straight into that size thread, with a bit of liquid gasket glue on the thread. It's been such a great, clean, easy mod to the ute I've ever made I think.
